Both fuel tanks on the top they have a short hose that looks like it's cut that's a breather for the air to go to the fuel tank if that gets clogged the fuel is not going to flow so it's just clean that hose and you good. Most of the time it's a blue hose
Had the same issue in my Pete, What happened is the return line from the motor was rotting from the inside and sending pieces of rubber to the T connector. We replaced the return line from the motor to the tanks and problem solved.
I think thats whats going on with my truck, Its a pete2014. what I done for easy fix was hook up my air hose that I use to air my tires, connect my blow gun and blow air into tank ventilation tube. Problem solved.
That works but an even easier was is to shut the return line off (or pinch it with vice grips if there’s no valve)on the tank that’s full and shut off the supply hose to the tank that’s empty so it doesn’t suck anymore air, prime and start until it levels out and open them back up. Be a good idea to add some bio kleen to it if it’s an alge clog and blow out the lines when you get a chance as well. There’s always a reason if one tank fills and the other doesn’t whether it be one tank draws faster than the other or returns faster than the other or not at all to either or. Good video though that’s definitely one way to do it
That's pretty stupid if you had Fuel in the right tank for it to die.. Whoever designed that needs to come up with something better next time. It should not die until both tanks are bone dry.
Hi Viktor im Viktor too. Did you find out afterwards what was the problem? Cuz i had the same problem last week. And maybe still have just trying to keep my tanks at higher level now. I ran out of fuel on my right tank while left was close to quarter. Left is the one with level sensor on my truck. By the way There is no main tank supply and return hoses from both tanks are connected by T shaped splitters to each other and to hose from the engine. So engine sucks one pipe but thru the splitter sucks from both tanks. And same when diesel returns. And by the law of physics both tanks should stay at the same level cuz they are connected. So they suck from each other if one tank gets lower level. There is no pumps needed to level them up. I know this cuz i changed all 6 hoses on my old truck. 2 from each tank to splitters and 2 from engine to splitters. So when one of the tanks gets empty air goes in to pickup pipe inside the tank than to a splitter and in to engine. The fuel tank that still has fuel stops being sucked because air is easier to suck than liquid and there is not anough suction to pickup diesel from it. That's what happened to you and to me. But why i still didn't find out. I suspect my left tank has poor ventilation. So when diesel is being sucked from it, vacuum occurs inside of it. And that vacuum makes it harder to suck fuel from left tank than from right one. That's why right tank gets empty faster in my case. And situation is opposite in your case. Ill check my ventilation valves. If there may be any other causes for uneven fuel use that i have no idea about please help me. Any body who knows. Thank you very much.
He vctror I have same proplam in my Volvo truck and icant find out what is the problem I take it to the makank he can’t find the issue can you tell me with problems
There is a valve under the cab that balances fuel in both tanks. Also the pick up line in one of them could be higher so it suck air in before the tank is empty. Hope it helps.
Man why you take it off and open the fuel line????? It easy to just open the valve and it is transfer fuel automatically. Dealer just shut off that valve that why you use only left side fuel tank. Open that valve and that it, after that you can use both tanks.
Tegin Moltoi it's open all the time. I use both. I just closed it before disconnecting. I guess the pick up line in the left tank is higher than the right tank...

very helpful, fuel tank leaking bad, pinch both fuel lines make truck back to the road.
Thank you Victor! 👏🙏
If only semi trucks had a cross feed switch like airplanes

It’s a blocked breather, it happens to the best of us

Yes, your idea totally makes sense! Or the pick up line in one of them might be higher for some reason 🤔
Mine didn't have that cut off so I had to blow air in one so the fuel will go back to the other tank
Switch the main line to passenger tank. You might want purge the system afterwards. One gallon at time lol
How do i find out which line is main
All you had to do was shut the suction line on the empty tank and you can drive with it like that
Helpful video thanks
Close valves on empty tank, pumps manual fuel pump and your have fuel to drive,
You saved me! Thanks

Viktor Furduy under the cab?? How it looks like... pic pls. Have same issue, I keep refuel every day
Good idea 😃😃😃 Thanks
GOOD IDEA
Could that cause hard starting
Sounds like GRU
🤣😂😅 you are not the first one to tell me this 😛🤦♂️
Nice bro thanks
Why aren't your tanks equalizing. Isn't the purpose of that line to equalize the fuel between tanks
It happens when breather is blocked
Man I just close the empty tank and start it up!! I have done it too...
You need a video on how to close it.

That happened to me yesterday
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thier is a switch in your cab
I don't have any switch in the cab for fuel tanks.
Volvo
😂😂😂😂
