July 5 2024. 107 Fahrenheit in Fontana California. Had the truck running all night and day cause the two bulldogs can’t handle the heat. Just as I was leaving the terminal to get fuel one block away, it died. Turned into a 90 minute workout of sweat, tears and frustration, but with the help of your video and a $50 dollar fuel can, I got er running again. Thanks, the doggies really appreciate it
I ran out of gas just now on the exit to a truckstop Ran to the truckstop three different times to get fuel and it’s still wouldn’t start Just watch this video and it worked perfectly and I’m able to drive right now Thank you so much.
This is exactly why I made this tutorial. It is a way to save a very expensive towing bill for transporters. I've work in the heavy diesel automotive repair industry for quite a while and know that the fuel gauges on trucks malfunction quite often.
Thank you so much this was my first time running out of gas. My mechanic didn't fill the fuel filter and when I got up to start it. It wouldn't crank thanks so much
Thank you it worked for me on my 2014 freightliner m2 106 box truck but ours is actually located on the bottom right hand side and our fuel filter all we have to do is pump on top of the fuel filter without screwing or twisting anything. Its already there the pump and basically same thing u have to pump untill it becomes hard. But thank you very much it worked i just had to find where mines was. Thanks again
You're the Real Mvp man, I was at a delivery, just about to leave, barely started the truck up, be and it went down. Checked out your video, and had the truck running again in about 30min. 🙏
If you've pumped it until it's hard to pump, then you may have another problem. I'm not a fan of starter fluid, because if you use too much you can damage your cylinders to the point where it won't start without it.
@@TheRifter ok I need help 🙏🏽 I ran out of fuel road service came and put fuel in tank sprayed starter fluid in air filter opening and gave a few pumps to fuel filter. And I was on my way. A few days later I started experiencing the engine stalling out with load or bobtail. If I tap my gas pedal it will "come back" and if I push all the way down it will stall out. I have no codes no smoke no leaks.
This truck appears to be common rail injection. On this system one main fuel rail feeds all the injectors, and the computer electronically controls each injector's firing. Similar to a gasser. On the systems where an injection pump feeds each mechanical injector individually... Yep you will be cracking open lines and priming 🥴
No need to crack open any lines. I just did this for my western star with a DD15. Cracking lines might have helped it go faster but with no tools that’s not happening.
I've never had one take that many, but I suppose it is possible. Usually it's between 250 and 1000. It will still save you a lot of money in towing and mechanic fees.

Thanks so much for this sir !! Just ran out of fuel at Amazon. Put fuel in it and wouldn’t start . Glad I came to TH-cam
Thank you so much, I ran out of fuel 40 yards away from fuel island and I'm glad that I found your video on YT. I got it started in 15 minutes 😊
Thank you so much. It helped me today,2-3-2023
This happened to me this morning and it worked 2017 frightliner cascadia thank you so much

Were you able to fix the real issue or no?
Just sent it to my son who ran on fumes and truck didn’t start , got it going thanks
You’re the best for this man.. it worked perfectly... AI have a Freightliner Cascadia. Thank you 💪🏾🙏🏾
Glad it helped
Absolutely beautiful video, I have always wondered this.
We need to thank god for this man 🙏🏽
Just did it !!! Thanks 😊 it started right up.
Today this happened to me this work 100% thanks buddy
Pro tip pump it while trying to start it this worked for me.
You sometimes have to pump it between 250 to 1000 times. I don't ever recommend reaching into a running engine unless you can do it safely.
Hey what about box truck ? Freightliner M2
That instrumental is tight hah
Man you saved me a roadside bill!!! Thanks 💪🏾💪🏾
Happy to help.
Definitely helped me thank you driver
It helped me thanks so much!
Great Help ❤❤
Thank you RIFTER for your video it works for me my Peterbilt and your knowledge save a lot of my money …again thank you very much and GOD BLESS
U are a life saver bro
Thank you very much very helpful information
Thank you for the info
Good video
Just used this tip thanks
Thank you
Helped me 10-6-2024
Thanks
Haha!! Just run out of diesel on exit ramp. Your video came up first. 2023 Cascadia works. Thank you really
I like helping people, and if I saved you a road call, then it's worth it.
Thank you it worked for me
Much love on the video definitely do the pod cast
thanks a lot! you saved me from a $5k company fine
I did? How?
Worked
How do I get air out of gasline in a 2014 freightliner m2(box truck)
Thanks bro you the best
That’s bro I was fuckkeddd 😂😂😂
What could be the real issue of losing prime after running truck for a while? Then shutting off and bam the prime is gone.
The most likely culprit is a pinhole leak in the fuel intake system.
Thank you so much for this. God bless
Thanks 🙏
Does the old Series 60 have this primer pump?
I'm not 100% sure on that one. You should be able to look it up on Google.
Thanks
Worked thanks 🙏🏾
I tried this but the fuel level didn't go down after priming. Should I try again and spray some starter fluid into the system?
If you've pumped it until it's hard to pump, then you may have another problem. I'm not a fan of starter fluid, because if you use too much you can damage your cylinders to the point where it won't start without it.
Very helpful
Thank you , so much
If you get air in the line would it cause your truck to stall out
Absolutely. That is the whole point of this tutorial. Priming bleed the air out of the line.

I will post a video of how the truck is stalling
@mark north sounds like some kind of intake throttle problem.
my fuel filter real low is that good or bad i change the filter 2 weeks a go the diesel level was 4 now is 1
Really this is only to prime the system, but you can add diesel to it and it won't harm anything.
This truck appears to be common rail injection. On this system one main fuel rail feeds all the injectors, and the computer electronically controls each injector's firing. Similar to a gasser.

Also @2:58 That's what she said!!!
Couldn't resist 🥴
🤣 How did I not catch that?
What if I have no fuel?
Then you're screwed. You may have to start hooking.
Oops I don't carry spare diesel to put in the filter
Fucking life saver
No problem. Happy to help.
Thank you brother, helped me. Worked perfectly
You got to pump that shit for an hour plus some
It can take a while sometimes.
I keep doing this it won't stay running
It sounds like you may have a hole in your fuel system somewhere.
I was not pumping long enough. I got it to work
@@MR_UNOoo yeah, you have to keep going anywhere from 250 to 1,000 pumps, depending how empty your lines are.
I added 12 gallons of fuel and it wouldn’t start up, now ima try this I’m stuck in Rialto, CA I’ll keep you updated
So a month passed and no update
Yeah, I was wondering if he was still stuck there too.
L
It didn't work for me because I have a 2023 Mack GR84B. I just want to say, the manufacturer of Mack doing to much extra sh*t. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
What he didn’t tell you is sometimes it takes 4000 pumps!
I've never had one take that many, but I suppose it is possible. Usually it's between 250 and 1000. It will still save you a lot of money in towing and mechanic fees.
@TheRifter man I've been pumping for 2 hours and no luck. Can running out of fuel damage fuel pump?
Is the fuel leaving the reservoir? You may need to fill it back up and keep pumping.
@TheRifter it's staying the same and no fuel to the rail can the pump be broken? Or just keep pumping
@@notkirill6991 it definitely should not take that long. It could take up to 1000 pumps, but yeah, that pump could be faulty.
GET TO THE POINT!
Exactly
My car runs out of gas . It is fuel injection
Start it up took us to the end without a finish.
It's called "edging" I hear it's popular on certain websites.
D
Should have stipulated what type of fuel in caption
Jesus wept
Thanks
You're welcome.
