    I have an 02 d12 that is getting diesel in the oil,I drove it 200 miles and had about 1 qt. Of diesel showing fuller on the dip stick,truck runs great, starts easy, what can I do? Thanks John

    i’m having some issues with my 2013 VnL D13 .. when truck is cold, the rpm is aggressive it pulls great, and after few minutes of driving.. its getting weak!! doesn’t get aggressive anymore.. im barley going up the hill fully loaded..
    -fuel pump is new
    -injectors are new
    -cups are new
    -fuel housing is new..
    could there be fuel restrictions from debris somewhere in the fuel line.. might of sucked dirt from the bottom of the tanks.. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    and also no bubbles in the fuel system.. truck starts right up.. no check engine on.. nothing..
    just feels like the Engine has fuel starvation problem.

    I had once my fuel filter partially clogged up and got message on dash display "Check fuel filter" happens I bad not much fuel in tanks and it sucked all dirty fuel from the bottom of tanks. So now I never go less than 25% fuel in tanks to prevent this

    Can you make a similar video with a Cummins isx how to purge air out the system... I think I had air on my fuel lines because I did not add enough fuel on the fuel water separator filter, but as soon as I switched the primary fuel filter from Baldwin to fleet guard it stopped doing it but still sometimes does it.

    ??? No fuel is being used from passenger tank …. Reading is off and running off of driver side tank only

    What are you hoping to accomplish with the FASS system? In my experience aerated return fuel without aeration in supply in D13/mp8 is an indicator of combustion leakage into the fuel supply at the conical pintle seat.

      Jedidiah, you are correct. We later found a faulty pressure regulator valve located at the front of the head. Thank you for your input.

    Hi I have a volvo vnl D13 2010 I have a issue with my truck, drives good but when gets -5F or lower, truck shows check fuel filter and fuel feed pressure and truck starts shaking and stalling, I put diesel number 1, changed fuel filters the same problem, nothing helps, but when getting warmer drives great. What can be? Thank you

    So your not going do the other half of that test and hook the clear line up to the supply to the head. air in fuel can also come from filter base, fuel lines, and tank pickups.

      Nick, you are correct. Air in fuel may enter in multiple areas. This particular engine had a failed fuel pressure regulator

    Would it work just to unplug the fuel return line at the filter housing and clamp the clear hose to it and run it to the fuel tank from there instead from the head? And just plug the housing? That way I woudn’t have to disconnect the fuel line at both ends

    Hi there! Once I had message Check fuel filter right after that in a few miles past truck starts shaking going up to the hill, I stopped turned off the engine then trying to start it again, it started after a long time of cranking. I changed the water separator filter at the shop down the road, after that I don't have issues with shaking on the hills, truck pulls fine idles fine, but this did not resolve the issue with the starting. Truck starts right the way only after prime fuel with the pump on fuel filter assembly now. No matter if engine warm or cold it has long crank before it starts even if I shut it down in one second trying to start it again it will no start good. I drive like this about 8 month now and only starting the truck after the priming. Also I changed fuel filter assembly on the left side of the engine but it didn't help. Water separator does not show any bubbles under the cup and the filters there with orings been charged too many times already. Return line in the tank shows a little bit of bubbles. Was thinking maybe it's time for a new injector cups but for my understanding I the cups are becoming bad it's not going to give a bad staring in one day and like I sad trucks pulls and idling fine with no shakes. What do you think? Tanks

    I have a 2010 D3 that will only run for about 30 seconds and only after you pump the hand primer the primate as long as your pumping the hand primer. The truck will stay running as soon as you stop pumping the truck will shut off like it runs out of fuel. I’m thinking of fuel pump. Do you have any advice?

    Nice video , I have the same issue air coming out from the return line even after I replaced the injectors and cups , and misfire cylinder 5 fault code come back again

      Could be a leaking injector during operation or a leaking injector. Have you done the test in the video?

    I am attempting to work on a 2007 volvo vnl with a dd in it. has an issue were you prime it, it runs for a bit then shuts off. you re-prime it and it runs again. I've pressure tested fuel system before davco filter housing and found no leaks. trying to isolate issue...... do you have any part numbers for these test fittings for so i can isolate the issue? only constant code is for injector 5 mechanicals not responding...but it goes away after you prime it well. thinking problem is aeration or a failed injector return. but want to be sure before wasting money. TLDR do you have part numbers for test fittings. has fuel housing with spring primer.

    Hey man my truck is a 2012. It was running fine with check engine on. I went on vacation for a week and when I try to start it the lights would come on, but it won’t crank at all. The only message i get it Maintenance required vehicle Ecu. And j1939 Communication error with Engine ECU. Please help me out with this if you have any idea what could it be

    I have a 2013 Prevost with a Volvo d13. Keep getting check fuel filter error message. I don’t see water in the glass bowl , and keep losing power under load or climbs. Very frustrating. Maybe this is the issue?

    Great video would not have thought it was fuel lines, will check my fittings, my 2009 D16 is shuddering under load, what are the symptoms of a plugged EGR cooler, cleaned my plugged Delta P sensor ports and Venturi pipes it coded was filthy and noticed when I put a camera in to look at fins in EGR cooler it was filthy, cleaned front off as best I could through the pipe, also when it regens there is fuel dripping from clamp below 7th injector. Your thoughts? Will check out rest of your vids very very helpful! Nice quality! Thanks

      Doug Besplug thanks for watching make sure to subscribe. Shuddering under load could be fuel related or boost related. I would recommend fuel in air test and boost leak test. Clogged EGR should tigger a code and a cleaning would involve removing cooler which would be better to replace with new one instead of reinstalling old one that could eventually fail. The clamp behind injector 7 needs to be replace and also need to make sure 7th injector is not leaking when not in use. Hope this helps. 🔧🇺🇸🇨🇱👊🏼💪🏼

    Need some help with a volvo d13. Its been deleted by previous owner. With 700k miles. Was running good but about 2 months ago i got it governed, after awhile fuel filter started getting dirty and been having ro replace it often because it gets to blocked and engine looses power. Now even after replacing fuel filter still has lost lots of power. Any ideas? Was just explainning what ive done to truck but not sure if related. Thanks in advance

      Wayne, since the returned fuel is at a high volume its best to route back to fuel tank so that you can run engine a few minutes without worrying about over filling the returned fuel container

    very good videos friend. I have a problem with a d13. maybe you can help me. change the case of the fuel filter. after that it gives me a fault that turns off and does not work even. I put the computer and the diagnosis was three bad injectors. I changed the injectors but the fault remains. Now the diagnosis was low fuel pressure , I put a new pump and the same problem continues. my question is . what can this be.

    Hi , perhaps, you or someone reading the comments can help me out on this one , this happen 3 times already , 2014 Volvo d13 vol , somewhere on the passenger side behind the turbo , while driving ,something spray big time ,,and creates big cloud of white smoke,could it be DEF? doesn’t look diesel ,by the time I open the hood and look only smoke clearing out and you could see spray on chassis , but it dries out and cannot see where is coming from , engine runs ok during this and no sound at all,a DEF icon shows on the lower left corner of the instrument panel shows but it clears almost immediately , anyone has an idea what can be causing this, thanks

      You have a leak in the exhaust system. It can be 7th injector line, 7th injector gasket or any of the exhaust clamps after turbo.

      @@georgesokolov4155 thanks , now I finally got this 5 mile derate think going right now and it wouldn’t let me regen ,even forced regen , filters are ok , but i got a reductant injection valve control bank 1 , unit 1 circuit open , ireally dont know what this is but ihave to find out rather soon

    Really good video used it a a few times as a reference, used your tips and also for looking for a boost leaks too, the fuel pump I noticed on my D16 is seeping diesel through the weeping hole, would that cause air in the system and performance issues like stumbling and it’s quite expensive to replace $2000 in Canada, mostly seeps when you start the truck? Noticed with Volvo schematics you have to replace it as a tandem unit the fuel shaft seal is actually in the power steering pump in front of the fuel pump. Also is the seal replaceable? No fuel related codes came up, has engine retarder over speed as a code don’t think that’s related? Great vids very helpful!

    I have a 2006 Volvo vnl with a d12 engine. I don’t have power but I still get great gas mileage. What should I check to see what my problem is?

    Just take the valve cover off and each injector has a number, and inter the number in by sequenced on the ECU DataBoard...

      We actually found a faulty check valve. A faulty fuel check valve caused air rated fuel.

      anshyr07 we bypassed the ECM cooler lines and then the bubbles stopped showing up in the return line during testing.

      TAT Express Inc. did you run a fuel line directly to the fuel pump inlet??

      I have a 2014 d13 have had the injectors replace knock sensor replaced but still no power going up a steep incline I've had took the truck back to the shop they read the codes but tell me that there's nothing wrong that they can see suggested that the engine harness may need to be replaced cuz it was full of oil now I'm thinking that the oil after the shop replace the injectors I had to take the truck back twice because the valve covers was leaking oil they finally fixed it don't see no oil leaks under the truck check engine fault light is on any help would be greatly appreciated 784892 on the miles

      @Jeese Campbell, you may have a faulty fuel filter housing. Be sure to troubleshoot before condemning any part.

      Moh, check the splitter valve on the fuel return and also make sure vent tubes on fuel tank are not restricted. Thanks for watching and be sure to hit that sub button.
