Love Wildes analogy with Mac….However, in his rookie season, generally speaking, he started off a bit slow got relatively hot then started to taper off by being a turnover machine and his team having a losing record the last month or so of the regular season…All with McDaniels as OC. Unfortunately, It seemed Mac took that lack of momentum to the following season. Is that an OC problem? A Mac problem? A smoky cauldron of soup of multiple problems?…But to just swipe away the notion of some red flags because he had suspect OCs and/or Receivers seems a bit presumptuous and lazy.

People didn't love Wilson and Lance, they just knew that the Jets and the Niners were taking them high. From what I remember no one knew why they lived Wilson so much side from the "throw of the combine" and Lance was a mystery due to only playing one season albeit a great one.

The Jets are good. All they need to make the playoffs is a decent QB. Carr isn't an elite QB like Mahomes or Burrow, but he's a solid game manager like Alex Smith. And Smith consistently got the Chiefs to the playoffs.
You don't play just to go to the playoffs. You need an elite qb which carr is not. Hard pass

@EnanoPancracio Rodgers or Lamar they can get for draft picks. The jets need to send those picks. It's been 50 plus years without a chip. How long do you want them to keep trying to draft a guy? Their championship window is now.
@@wajahatjafri7246 neither of those guys guarantee a championship, and even if you do win it, best case scenario is the Rams, who tried that method and now have to rebuild their whole team after winning a single SB. It's not exactly conducive to long term success

7:33 Stafford’s lions were also last in all those categories, and Carr and Stafford both lead their draft teams franchise in passing yards. Stafford left and immediately won the Super Bowl. Carr could do something similar is he goes to the 49ers.

Wilds is right but if the opportunity to upgrade presents itself New England should take it. Mac Jones isn't good enough that you stick it out if you don't have to. Otherwise I agree with Wilds and Chris.
The playbook for Mac Jones was open at the beginning of the year, they were letting Mac sling it around. They got away from that and went back to his rookie stuff and he was the same player. Not bad, not good, just decent enough to not lose you the game but absolutely not good enough to win you a game
Wildes is about 79.37% correct. Mac Jones has obvious limitations ; but 2nd yr having Matt P run the offense was not a total disaster but did set him back. However, getting Derek Carr or an obviously better QB is not that bad of an idea

Everybody knew at the time of the draft, that Mac Jones's ceiling was the lowest of the top drafted QBs. He reached it very quick, already in his rookie season. Nick got it right.

I love Wildes but misses the fact that Mac Jones' deficiency were very well disguised in the beginning of that great year by the coaching staff that year.
That means that a sufficiently competent coaching staff could help disguise or address his deficiencies. It's not like he's 30, the door is not closed on further development

Mac Jones shouldn’t be such a controversy.
Most coaches and teams don’t have an all star level qb that can change the game for them.
Saying belichek was nothing without Brady is unfair, as no coach succeeds without a great qb, and no qb succeeds without a great coach.
Brady flourished with arians, but the moment arians left, Brady looked pedestrian.
It takes a team of great qb and coach to succeed on the level belichek and Brady did. Neither of them would have succeeded the way they have without each other. It’s a team effort to display such greatness.
It wasn't Arians. It was Gronk and AB not being there. Most people conveniently fail to mention that Brady had one of the most loaded offensive rosters in the history of the NFL during that Tampa Super Bowl run. 3 #1 WR options (Brown, Evans, Godwin) + Gronk + Fournette at RB.
As for Brady and Belichick. I think it was simply the perfect storm of a offensive Great (Brady) combining with one of the greatest Defensive masterminds in football (Belichick).
What a lame take.. Brady was already 45 and the Bucs had a revolving door of offensive linemen out all season as well as the league's 32/32 ranked run game.. And CHUMP to an absolute undisputed 100% certainty Brady was behind Tampa's success..
As for Bill Belichick -- In 131 games coaching in the NFL when Tom Brady isn't his starting QB Belichick has a horrendous *.461 Win%*
