Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes discuss the change of events for the Niners and whether San Francisco is better or worse with Jimmy G as QB. Plus, the Dallas Cowboys upset the Bengals as home underdogs 20-17. Trey wasn't ready. The whole team has a different energy when Jimmy is QB. No offense to Lance but that's just the experience and time being teammates. They've been through a lot with Jimmy at the helm. You can tell they got his back and play harder when he's out there. 49ers should be counting their lucky stars that Jimmy is still with them

The problem for the 49ers is neither QB will develop into great QBs. Jimmy G still plays like a developmental QB because he’s miss so much time due to injuries. Here comes Trey with the same issues.

Favorite Jimmy G moment was when he went toe to toe with Drew Bree’s in that saints game back in 2019, when he hit Kittle for that 40 yard reception on 4th and 2. Was an absolute shoot out when the teams were supposed to be top defenses. Easily his best game, and was real fun watch. Continue with your nonsensical argument Nick

There was a time when QB development was given to arc around approximately a 3-5 season tenure. Now, the expectation is that a rookie QB step in and be immediate world beaters, or they are reflexively written off as busts...sometimes as early as by the end of the first pro game they ever play.

Such an understated point. I'm sick of these franchises and fans who know nothing about qb development and just expect these young qbs with no experience to go out and beat defensive coordinators whove been in the game for decades. I think thats why we see so many running qbs being the darlings. The threat expands offense but their constant scrambling just shows either low football iq, bad lines or awful qb coaching (which I think is almost completely overlooked).

JimmyG is just this generations’ Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer. Great team around him to carry him and he doesn’t have to do much to get the win other than just be decent and make some decent plays here and there.
He is better than Trent Dilfer. Those days were tough man. Those offenses couldn't score. Jimmy is an average -ish starter. Better than Mac Jones but worse than Kirk Cousins. Somewhere in the middle. Better than Jameis too. Jimmy got the 2nd best cmp% in NFL history.

Nick right I get what you're saying about Jimmy G and his lack of big moment wins. He does have one big moment when, it was against the saints in the playoffs when he outgunned Drew Brees. Other than that he lost a lot of games for us in the playoffs and we know this.
1 loss in the playoffs is not "a lot of games". If you want to count the Super Bowl as a playoff game, then it's 2 losses in the playoffs, which isn't "a lot of games" either. And it wasn't Garoppolo that lost us those games, it was Shanahan's play calling. He did it as OC in Atlanta in the Super Bowl, he did it as HC in San Francisco in the Super Bowl, and he did it in the NFC Championship game last year. Yet Garoppolo unfairly gets all the hate.

Cowboys had 14 penalties and terrible coaching, Packers couldn't score a TD after the first drive with Rodgers at home, Rams gave the game away two different times and they still won, Niners got lucky and Jimmy G did not play well in any of those games, only hope for the niners is that the NFC sucks right now

3:30 Here is my favourite moments: Every season he played. His efficiency was above league average in all seasons. And thats the only thing that counts. Not highlight runs by hyped up "dual" QBs who get sacked a lot (or worse, having awful mechanics like Lance)... Just win baby. And thats what the 49ers did with him more often than not. He outplayed each QB (except Brady) who was on the same roster with him.
Jimmy Garoppolo is the most under-rated QB since Jim McMahon. In many ways comparable (even the injuries around the corner)... It was said (by talking heads only) McMahon was a game manager, needed Payton, the defense (they had the same, even better all-time D in 84 and 86, going nowhere), blablabla... Actually they only won the year he was relatively healthy, thus CHI having a top offense. As DL Steve McMichael put it best: "With McMhon we had an offense, without him we were just running plays". All that is compatible with Garopollo. Trust the players, not the talking heads or incompetent front offices. So if (which I believe) those players last Sunday were overly happy, that says it all.
Right off the top of my head, Jimmy G outplayed Dak in last year's playoff victory against Dallas. Jimmy was more efficient and avoided the big mistake. Dak did Dak things (disappeared for most of the game, threw a ton of incompletions, got hot late, threw a pick, and cost his team the game at the end when the moment got too big for him.)
