    I bought a Renegade 1000 the first year of the 2nd gens. At the time only a few clutches were available and I did the Dalton clutch kit with 28" tires. It was ok, but lost a good bit of power I could feel and if I did not have it in low and hit any kind of resistance it would smoke the belt immediately. I cant remember who used to sell it but I bought a modified TEAM clutch from one of the Can-Am vendors. This has been the best clutch, I have had it on for around 9 years without any service. Still running that first belt I put on. Just recently I took it apart to grease the bearings and had to order some special tools to get it apart so I was asking on the can-am Facebook pages about what tools I would need and almost nobody in the comments knew about this clutch option. At that time I remember only paying $300 or so for it, im not sure why they dont offer this anymore.

      Sounds lime a good option, maybe just didnt sell enough. TEAM makes good stuff. Polaris and Arctic Cat use TEAM components still.

    I did the cvtech and ran 30x10x14 super atv intimidators and it ran it fine and worked very well. Then I went down the rabbit hole and stm primary and secondary…… well the difference is night and day. Clutch kits are for Polaris… and you nailed that in this video !

      Yes its amazing the difference with the billet aluminum clutch, night and day difference agreed

    Nice video don I also went with 29.5 assassinators on a 2022 can am outlander max but went with a cvtech primary and a red epi secondary spring and it definitely made a difference! The only thing in the future is a ecu flash upgrade and maybe a stm secondary clutch!!

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay

      Right on! Some ECU tuning makes a big difference.

    I was thinking about going with QSC Rev-X primary & STM secondary for my 2018 Can Am Outlander XMR 1000. after watching this video I might just go with the Rex-X primary & change my secondary springs.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't go wrong with that choice. I'll eventually change to an STM secondary, but no rush as current set up works so well

  • @napalmatv4524
    @napalmatv4524 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I put a CVTech on my 850 XMR and put the grey (I think that’s what color it was anyways) EPI secondary spring in. Thing ran mint for sure and I’ll put that clutch on my new one too, but I definitely want the new QSC Rev-X in the future

  • @EC_ATV_Outdoors
    @EC_ATV_Outdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was surprised that Dalton wasn't listed. They are Canadian and test thoroughly to ensure what comes in the kit is what is needed. So if only new weights are needed, kits are only $50, where EPI replaces everything and charges 100's for the same results.
    And CVTech us Canadian too, and like you said, the best primary option for Can-Am's

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dalton was in the video, there was a graphic with the price.

    If you upgrade both, how does that effect the quickness and top speed with stock xxc tires? Still do some drag racing and don't want to lose speed, but put in mud tires to do some other racing with mud holes.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      If want speed, don't the secondary. Just change the spring. I would recommend an ECU tune first then maybe add a CV Tech primary if results aren't what you want

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure the weight difference between STM & CV TECH. But either way you're not getting optimum performance with stock clutching

  • @ChevroletTough
    @ChevroletTough 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’d agree. Clutch kits are a waste, full blown primary is the way to go. I’ve done cv tech primaries on both of my can ams and have had awesome results!!

  • @hEvtrdr

    Do you think 31 inch og outlaw tires for a renegade would work fine with the stock clutches?

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably not that great. They will be heavierthan a set of Cryptids

    • @hEvtrdr
      @hEvtrdr 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ADVENTURESThisWayI did the research and I think it should be fine, it’s a couple pounds heavier.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @hEvtrdr Then why did you ask?
      The issue is when you are in thick material, belt will slip. But I suppose 2 or 3 belts is about the same price as a clutch kit...

  • @withlinbarhm1627
    @withlinbarhm1627 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is a aftermarket primary and secondary clutch only good for mudding and going through deep water? Or will give me more power. I have a 570 outlander and I want more punch and acceleration.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An upgrade to the primary will get the power to the ground more effectively. A CV Tech would do wonders for a 570. You can customize it for the terrain you ride. Also get a tune or ECM flash, that will wake it up as well

  • @annexoffroad

    So would you get a cvtech and exhaust/tune or wait for bigger tires to get clutch?

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An aftermarket clutch and tune will significantly improve performance, no matter what tires you have.

  • @rodboseman545
    @rodboseman545 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay I have a renegade 570 and I have the Dalton kit already in it do you think getting a whole new primary clutch would be worth it or do you think it would be pointless? Thanks.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      If stock tires clutch kit is fine. If bigger tires and have cash available get a CV Tech primary and change secondary spring

    • @rodboseman545
      @rodboseman545 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had 29.5 assassinators when I first got the clutch and I sold them and bought 32 assassinators and I am currently waiting on them to come in.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      @rodboseman545 it will work fine with clutch kit but will need to be adjusted for 32s much heavier. Best results aftermarket primary.
