We were looking at trading in our 2015 sonata for a 2020 but we stopped by kia on the way and well we now have a 2020 stinger gt and it's probably the coolest car I have ever owned. Love these 2 brands (hyundai /kia) and they r only making everyone up their game. 👍🏼
I've said it once and I'll say it twice. Honda needs to take some major notes from Hyundai on how to style a fastback profile. Hyundai is doing big things now. Can't laugh at the brand now😎👍👍
Man that grill from 2019 on that 2020 headlights 👍🏾👌🏾 just right.. Because I don't like 2020 front grill but those headlights are awesome 👍🏾👍🏾 quad exhaust for 2020 is a must man!!!!
For me, the 2017 models were like 🤷🏻♂️, and the elantra was like 💪🏼💪🏼. Now is all the opposite. Love that front and that interior. Hope to see something like that on the elantra.
The front grill has grown on me, loved the rear section immediately. This yellow colour looks like the one offered on the VW Arteon though. Great review and Job Mr Joe !

Bob the old guy from my neighborhood does not use it most of the time. I want Hyundai sonata it's because there good quality and plus I h more space to charge anything you have while your done someone will drop to wherever you need to go.
Watch out Toyota and Honda. Hyundai is coming for that ass!! I love the new 2020 Sonata. I'm a tech freak so the technology is out of the park compare to family sedans. It does reminds me of an Aston Martin with Genesis interior. But the 2021 Kia Optima had me sold! It's much more sportier version than the Sonata. That would be my choice as a purchase.
Hood struts! The Koreans get it. And yes, my kids do listen when I tell them not to kick the back of the seats. This new Sonata interior looks very similar to the soon to be released Optima.

Early on, tease pictures of the 2020 Sonata showed a grille having 3 or 4 vertical bars on a simple grille (akin to their cascading style) which would be more attractive than what they adopted for the 2020. I so dislike it I would NOT buy a Sonata after having owned three Sonatas. At a dealership in central Connecticut, three all-black sedans are parked side by side never to be sold as they look ugly especially during a cold-weather, gloomy season. Why such a stupid move? Incomprehensible!

Just announced, the Sonata N-line will get a 2.5 Turbo with at least 294hp, 8spd dct, sport suspension, bigger brakes and other sport enhancements. That is the one I want to see. 180hp just doesn't cut it. Thank you Joe, Tom, and of course Lori.
As someone who has always loved the Eleanor Mustang, New Edge Terminatot Mustang, and the 5th gen S197 Mustang. It’s weird to see a Hyundai Sonata be more stylish than the newest refreshed Mustang. Even the XLE Toyota Camry is hideous compared to this. The new Sonata taillights looks like a Civic Sedan’s C-shaped taillight
I'll keep my 2015 Sonata for a while, it is still a decent car but it is dated comparing to 2020 Sonata. The new generation should be on the top 3 of the class.
Thank you for reviewing the 2020 Glowing Yellow Hyundai Sonata. The Glowing Yellow Sonata has not been given much attention by reviewers in the U.S. and it is a most unusual shade. I can't quite figure out whether it is a true bright yellow as it appears in bright sunshine or if it is actually more of a gold. It appears to me that the brighter colors highlight the character lines and styling details of the vehicle much more than the darker, more subdued colors. However, the 2020 Sonata looks beautiful no matter what color. I would love to see you review a fully loaded (all four option packages included) Limited version of the 2020 Sonata in any color. The taillights on the 2019 are so much better than the 2020's lightbar taillights. I hate the trend of lightbar taillights. Also the amount of gloss black plastic on the shifter/button area for 2020 is an absolute sin. The 2020 steering wheel is also pretty ugly. Other than that, the 2020 is a huge step up from the 2019. I had 2 of the outgoing sonatas and liked them very much. That said, I am NOT a fan of the gloss black on the new model. The se model has a nicer front end to my eyes. And they should have offered awd.
As I already said, don't understand what peoples taste is like these days. That 2019 Sonata from the front design and rear design is still the best looking car in its class. Where Hyunday failed on that car is the side profile and the interior. All they had to do is stretch that 19 slightly longer and wider. Give it a lower profile sleek design and some character from the side profile. Make the interior like the latest Sonata and they would have had a big hit. I think the 19 from the front grille all the way back on the hood to the windshield is a great looking car
The '20 looks a lot better than I expected. The yellow slightly reminds me of that mustard-yellow BMW color. The '20 had me, until the Deals on the '19 / 2.0T larger engine. (The V6 engine is becoming extinct) 🦖 😖
2019 interior was absolutely horrible, the 2020 is absolutely amazing, very very high end luxury. The tech that the 2020 has is unbelievable especially for the price. I really love there's no cut line on hood, looks way better. I think the 2020 will finally bring back what the 2011 Sonata did for the brand.
I’m a Honda guy, my family members are as well, but if I were to buy a new car today, it would be this exact yellow sonata *of course with the tech package
In my opinion, I prefer the 2019 model over the NG. I think the exterior looks better. It's a good mix between family sedan and agressive. I also think it's kinda annoying that they're taking away the 2.0t in favor of their 1.6t that they tune for economy. They could at least use the tune where it's configured at 201 HP and 195 torque instead of 180HP. I get that they're doing it since there's going to be a N model with the 2.5t but even on the Limited trim for 2020 you cannot configure a 2.0t and the Limited MSRP is $34,000. I can't even imagine what the price will be on the N. Oh, and the 2020 doesn't come with dual exhaust outlets no matter what trim you get. That's reserved for the N model as well. I love Hyundai and Kia but in my honest opinion I think Hyundai is kinda screwing with the exterior and focusing on that too much. I prefer the 2020 Optima over this forsure, but would be completely happy with that 2019 Limited. Also, with the lack of that front facia, if you rear end a car or get hit on the front quarter panel those areas will be trashed since most of the plastic bumper cover isn't there. In all fairness I wasn't a fan of the 2011 Sonata either. I liked the 2006-2010 models and this outgoing generation. Oh well, just my honest opinion.

The 19 is underrated , if you use premium fuel at all times ,like you suppose to, the 2.0T comes alive an i have hit 60 quicker than 7 seconds. The only thing i dislike about the 2020 is the rear 👎🏾
Can't believe the 2011 model is already 2 generations old. I feel like the recent cars haven't jumped that much in design compared to its previous generations. When you compare the 2011 model to its 2001 model, the difference is HUGEEE but this car to the 2011 model isn't really as revolutionary.
Frankly I think the new Sonata is the best mid size sedan in the market, but wait until her sister company Kia reveals the all new Optima (in fact it's already been debuted in Korea as K9). Still have high hopes on the upcoming Mazda 6, and I'm sure it will bring the No.1 title back from the Koreans.

I had two hyundais with the panoramic sunroof i maybe used it 5 times in the 3 yr lease period /its an expensive option so it shouldnt be a dealbreaker that cars dont offer a pano.

That really awkward moment when you realize this 2020 Sonata's front is not actually as different than the 2019 as it's pics and videos may suggest. Front head lights, bumper design bonnet going up, pretty much every part follows the exact same design follows, except very minor changes which make a big visual difference
For the 2020 they went the right direction on styling although the tail lights could be better and the wrong direction related to the motor and the transmission. No Hyundai should ever have a CVT. And the push button transmission looks like crap.
You forgot to mention that on the 2019 Hyundai Sonata Limited vehicles the PREMIUM Infinity's Treble Control never worked in ALL cars with the same radio (2018 models also), and Hyundai never asked Infinity if it could be fixed with a software update! Terrible, where is the quality control at Infinity?

I had two hyundais with the panoramic sunroof i maybe used it 5 times in the 3 yr lease period /its an expensive option so it shouldnt be a dealbreaker that cars dont offer a pano.

Press vehicles are always preproduction. I am comparing it to the 2019.

The 2020 looks better overall except for the steering wheel. I think the seats would look good if the piping matched the exterior color, except for the black of course. Nice job Joe! Two for one reviews are fun.👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

That really awkward moment when you realize this 2020 Sonata's front is not actually as different than the 2019 as it's pics and videos may suggest. Front head lights, bumper design bonnet going up, pretty much every part follows the exact same design follows, except very minor changes which make a big visual difference
You 2nd guessed yourself because I twice corrected you between Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 and Volkswagen Jetta and Passat for their respective segments. 😁😁

2019 looks way better in my opinion. Still like both though
They should have kept more buttons for controls.
For the 2020 they went the right direction on styling although the tail lights could be better and the wrong direction related to the motor and the transmission. No Hyundai should ever have a CVT. And the push button transmission looks like crap.

Once you've owned a Saturn Aura, or even 2nd-3rd gen Camaro, the 2019 Sonata's center armrest will seem like a cushy pillow.

Why does the camera back up an then comes closer to hood of the car ?..everytime it's time to pop the hood

You forgot to mention that on the 2019 Hyundai Sonata Limited vehicles the PREMIUM Infinity's Treble Control never worked in ALL cars with the same radio (2018 models also), and Hyundai never asked Infinity if it could be fixed with a software update! Terrible, where is the quality control at Infinity?

The new Sonata looks to much like a smaller Volkswagen Arteon, especially in that color.
