The Brilliant Johnny winter never will be anyone like him!..Derek trucks looks so inspired privileged to be on stage with the master 👍💯🎸thanks for the gig!❤
When he played in Boston years ago, there was a fight between the Hells Angels and the Gypsy Jokers. He kept playing and the fight stopped. Coincidence or the power of good music?
Johnny's bassist Scott Spray had a hilarious story about this concert. Johnny apparantly just wanted to leave after this set, wanted to go back to the hotel. But Eric wanted him to stick around for the show's encore. Scott said Clapton literally chased Johnny down the exit ramp when he realized he was leaving. Eric had these plaid shorts and baggy shirt on, plus Johnny's eyesight isn't the best. So he didn't recognize who he was speaking to? Johnny kept saying, no, but thanks anyway I'm out'a here. Scott leaned over and whispered to Johnny, " Johnny this is Eric Clapton you're speaking to"! So when he realized that, he agreed to stay! Scott was laughing the whole time telling the story, " I don't know what Johnny was thinking, he must've thought he was talking to a Pizza delivery guy the way Clapton was dressed "?
My inspiration when I was a kid, and my current inspiration. Derek is so respectful, that’s one of the reasons he is already a legend. Thanks for the upload!
"Johnny Winter And" was the first Live band I went to see. Cactus opened. First row balcony Fox theater Hackensack 1970. To this day JW is still my favorite Slide Guitarist. RIP Johnny, thanks for the Music and amazing Riffs! A Bluesman Legend.
@@daveguitarnowski4402 True. And so did many of the other 60s rockers. Who is a good lead guitarist today? Nobody even talks about it. I listen to my music collection, some TH-cam concert vids and a few music sites.
@@TeaParty1776 Warren Haynes is one. I think he was supposed to be placed in the 70's. He was just born late! Derek Trucks. Luther Dickinson. Marcus King. There's a bunch of interesting ones out there, if you can find them!
@@daveguitarnowski4402 Thanks. I'll try to listen to them. Trucks is very good. But I meant that pop music fans dont discuss the technical ability of the musicians they like. The ads for them seem to be limited to spangled swimsuit-wearing women.

Can't think of anything else...
Johnnys's version of this song on second Winter is my favorite electric slide performance of all time. Sorry Duane.

Great stuff! What year was this?
I want the story behind his scratched face
Well, true to form, he didnt hand off any of the leads to Derek.
😂
I saw Winter play near or in Hyannis, maybe the Melody Tent, in the late 70s. He makes todays pop music seem like no-talent superficial trash.
He did the same thing to the pop music of the other decades too!

@@TeaParty1776 well, i'm a guitar player/geek, so my demographic is skewed, lol.
No offense , but old Johnny had lost tattoos , RIP!
You ever see the brightly colored fu dog on his chest? Gorgeous on that super white skin
But JW not ‘worthy’ of the R&R HOF? What a joke -
fastest guitarist I've ever seen
