    Wish i would have found this video sooner lol. I have the same 36gal bow front and just picked up a marineland 220 as well!
    UNFORTUNATELY nowhere in the instructions does it mention that main seal for the lid 🤔 What a mess I made 😂
    All fixed up and working now! one thing I will say though is like every few minutes it gurgles and spits a bunch of micro bubbles out of the output tube. Ive primed it over and over to make sure all the air is out and Ive moved it side to side and all around to try and get any trapped air out but it still happens every couple minutes... Any ideas? This is my first canister filter, coming from a Tidal 55. Thanks for the awesome and informative content!

    I just went through my 1st water change with this filter and all I did was unplug it. the vacuum should be trapped between the canister and the intake outtake and I was able to turn it right back on or plug it back in rather and it worked just fine it's truly an awesome filter much more so to me for my 55 gallon than a Fluval fX4.

    Hey Bud. I love this filter it was my 1st canister filter I just bought 2 months ago the one thing that I read was you need to print it before plugging it in and that way you can get some water pumping out of the outtake is gout take then plug it in and you should be rock and rolling

    LoL The part I need to see is the hose connection! There are several small pieces included, and I assume they are for that purpose, but I'm not sure exactly how they go. What are the two tiny gaskets for? And then there are 4 other gasket type, connector type doohickies. I originally just tried inserting the hoses and tightening the red nuts around them, and I thought they were secure but I am trying unsuccessfully to prime this filter and I see that the hoses have slid out of those red pieces. Help!

    • @learningtofishkeep665
      @learningtofishkeep665  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gaskets go on to help prevent leaking. Gives it that perfect seal. So really anything connected to the filter should have a seal. The 2 tubes and the big one goes on the actual canister

    • @jadeSLenin
      @jadeSLenin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@learningtofishkeep665 ok thanks, that's what I thought... But I still don't know exactly WHERE and HOW? Do they go on the "valve hose barbs"? And then "tighten hose nuts". Not a word in the directions for any gaskets anywhere. The instructions for the other end are no clearer. So where are these gaskets going?

    • @learningtofishkeep665
      @learningtofishkeep665  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jadeSLenin so you will have a couple extra. No need to panic. they do have a couple extra just in case. If you look on the part where the hoses go into the canister it should have a couple o-rings/gaskets on them. If they do not you will add some there. If they are there you don’t need to add anything

    Hey man, I got one of those for Christmas. It's my first non HOB filter. The water is so clear, but I haven't taken it apart to clean yet. It's a 360 so it says the capacity is 100(plus?) gallons so I kind of plan to wait until the water coming out of it is cloudy before taking it apart to clean. I'm nervous because, like I said, it's my first of it's type. I'll pull out the paperwork that came with it and TH-cam it to get some tips.

    • @learningtofishkeep665
      @learningtofishkeep665  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great. A couple months back I did a 6 month review on it. Everything works great. I rarely have cleaned it. You can adjust the outtake a little bit to give it some sort of directional control. I’ve thought about also getting a shut off valve to put on the intake tube itself so you can give the flow even more control. I’m sure in your 55 it will have enough power to filter it and not blow your fish around. Since I have it in a 36 gallon

      @@learningtofishkeep665 I ended up getting a fluval 307 since no store close to me had the 220 in stock. By the way, how often would you suggest changing the media?

    • @learningtofishkeep665
      @learningtofishkeep665  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are pretty good filters. You didn’t go wrong with that one. If you notice the media is falling apart you can start changing some out. But in reality you shouldn’t change it out often. More of just cleaning it every month or 2. Like the sponges just squeeze out in a bucket of tank water. Media can last months or even years

    • @dragonslayer8724
      @dragonslayer8724 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@learningtofishkeep665 that's what I've been reading about that it rarely actually has to be changed, upwards to every 3-6 months. What's your preferred media to use? The ceramic rings that came with the 307 barely fills the media tray half up and heard the rings that come with it wasn't worth much using.

    • @learningtofishkeep665
      @learningtofishkeep665  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kyle Hamilton if you have any extra sponge filters I’d add those. Me personal I don’t use the carbon that it comes with because it waste so much space and I shove more media in there. My favorite media is either sponge or bio balls of some kind. The ceramic rings break down over time. So you can use them for now if you want to save some money and just change them in the future

    You're not supposed to fill up the canister with water. Just leave it as it is. The intake and outtake needs to be in the water in order for the prime button to work. You had the outtake out of the water that's why you were having trouble getting it to prime. After the first use, it will be easier afterwards, you only need to disconnect the hose from the canister to clean then when you put it back on the water should flow right in, maybe press the prime button once or twice and it'll be good to go! Good video by the way! ;)
