    In today's video I am sharing with you almost a week of homemade vegan lunches! Usually I don't like meal prepping but when it comes to utilising your freezer you can really food prep for a whole month! After prepping all our food, it makes it simpler to meal plan and meal prep in a sustainable and minimalistic way. This also helps to reduce food waste and incorporate zero waste recipes too.

      my sourdough starter turns two years old in may... 🥰 yes I started it in the pandemic well so I can say I got something out of it

      If you want your bagels to be uniform, weigh each dough and make sure they're the same weight. It works the same with every recipe. Weigh your big dough and divide that weight by how many you want to make. Voila! Even bagels.

    I always wonder if people watch cooking vlog type videos like this to learn how to cook better, or if people mostly watch them for the same reasons I do, which is to live vicariously through them and wish I could cook food that good and eat such amazing home cooked meals

    Make sure to slice and freeze bread, so it doesn’t go stale! It’s been a game changer for homemade sourdough

    The book I use is "Artisan Sourdough Made Simple" and its true to its title. Its a way more simplified and hands-off way of making sourdough so its way more convenient (its less "traditional" but I've been using it for 5 years and I love it)

    Immy, I just love your videos! Your sense of humor shining through in this video made me so happy! I love that you didn't edit out when you stumbled on words, and I love that you either don't put music in your videos, or you use quiet, calming music if you do.     Ah yes, the humble sandwich… Immy, your sandwiches have such flair… just like you, they’re elegant and creative!! Sandwich making and cookie baking are two of my favourite childhood kitchen memories. A sandwich is one food that all humankind has in common. You don’t even need cutlery or a plate… just some type of bread and some tasty fillings… and maybe a cookie and a cup of coffee to follow. (Subtle request there for vegan cookie baking video.) I aspire to have lunches such as yours Immy, thanks for all the kitchen fun. I always look forward to a ‘Baking with Immy’ video!! 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary💕🥪

    If you have extra bread, making breadcrumbs (and then freezing them for later) or croutons is a great way to use it up

    Sourdough doesn’t have to be this complicated if you don’t want it to be. There are many simple recipes out there if you find this to be too much. It took me a long time to figure this out.

    yesterday I baked sourdough bagels, they are getting better and better eachtime but the shape stays wonky... which I don't mind as they are home made so they are allowed to look rustic... and I totally agree the everything but the bagel spicy is everything 😅.

    All the sandwiches looked good, and I'm almost tempted to try my hand at making bread again.
    Just a questions about the oil you saved from frying the mushrooms, do you use again and what for? I stopped deep frying because I didn't like wasting the oil. Thanks, love your videos 😀

      You use the oil again to deep fry other things. Strain it so there's no chunks/large contaminants, then store to use to deep fry other things later.

    What is the ‘everything seasoning’ you used on the bagels? Is it a brand, or do you mix different seasonings yourself?

      ah hello! And welcome, so happy to have you here! Usually you would add an egg wash but obviously I don't eat eggs so I make a simple oat milk and maple syrup glaze just to help the seeds stick!

    What did you brush the bagels with? His video says egg so I'm wondering what you subbed with. Oil? Vegan butter?

      I used oat milk with some maple syrup to relocate the ‘stickiness’ that egg brings to a glaze !

      @@SustainablyVegan Thank you!! I will try that next time. I used melted vegan butter. They were delicious! You inspired me to make them for the first time!! They were a touch undercooked at 22 minutes but I'm sure that's just because all ovens vary. I did 2 trays and the bottom ones burnt on the bottom but they're still edible. It's all a learning process!!
