Whenever I search for advice, the creators always say having 1k followers is small. I dream of 1k followers. It feels like no one sees my stuff. I just want more than 1 like.
Hello! As a small creator I feel you as well. 100 is already impossible to me. And it really is if you draw for yourself only. As for my other account where I have 1k+followers (by clout chasing which you can see on my other video) it feels different. I won't say that 1k is small at this moment, but if you are interested I can make a video about this topic where I may explain things more clearly :)
Thsu video was so real on many levels. Growing these days as a small artist isn't as easy as before. I'm struggling myself but thankfully have irl and online friends who support an help me whenever necessary. I'm trying my best to grow more even if it's slow. All I can ask for now is that I can grow more (hopefully ☠️) Your art is so good, I'll definitely have to check you out!
The struggle is so real omg. Getting like no engagement whatsoever--or in my case, artificial engagement by Instagram bots--hurts so much! I'm glad I'm not alone, hope your art journey goes well too 🙌
I took a look at your stuff on your site and Twitter and you have a fantastic artstyle! It's true that things are a real struggle for creatives in this day and age for a million reasons. But don't let the small numbers and the like stifle that flame you have going on. You have a memorable and clean art style and can clearly render really well. Your comics are lovely and your animations were/are really well done too! Expressive, good choreography and motions and creativity. (your animation meme compilation shows improvement but even the oldest ones there are so nice to look at! Needless to say, I do hope that you get to the point where you gain even more organic and genuine recognition for what you do, and I hope no matter what you keep drawing to make you happy!
Thank you for your words! I really appreciate hearing them. I'm actually surprise that someone will still see my old animations haha! Kinda embarrassed since they are old but hey at least they finally got some attention 😤👍
@@Maoncake Of course! I speak only my honest opinion. I'm glad you had your older animations (and other arts, in general) up and available to be seen. It not only shows your improvement, but it also makes other aspiring artists/animators want to do similar things. It feels more achievable seeing a beginner level video do well like that. Like "they were a beginner and did that, I can do it too!" sort of way. And they sort of grow WITH you that way.
I feel this so much! I was fortunate enough back when instagram had the "recent post" but now how it is, it is so hard to engage with new and small artists. Don't give up! We have to keep going!
Share your art anyway and focus on your growth as an artist, not how many likes and followers you have. Remember to engage with your audience, fellow creators and check out other cool art, thats the whole point of social media after all. Regardless of how much engagement you'll get, your art will improve and so will you as a creator. Your growth as an artist is vastly more important than how "instagram popular" you are.
I love how pretty your art is, It's obvious you put a lot of effort to get the skill level you have now, and its really sadening that you don't get the recognition you deserve, And I can't wait for your comic to come out, I'll be sure to give it a read once it comes out and I hope sucess finds you
I understand you perfectly, especially the comic thing: I'm making one too and I'm afraid it won't do well just because I'm not posting on social media. But I know that I'm not going to stop making the comic completely just because of that, for me the most important thing is that it exists. 😊
imo, as someone who posts art/ animations on yt and social media as an "archive", but I've learned internet fame is very very hard to come by, don't feel bad if a few posts don't do as well as some others, keep pushing and you'll get there one day, I believe in you x
I can relate as well especially with the whole don't care to be huge following but you want to get noticed more, people on IG just follow you but never engaging with you, want to make comic but lack of audience and likes can ruin it or not make our situation worse
Sooooo relatable! I'm a writer and as a neurodivergent person, I struggle a lot with social media (I just can't go on fb/Insta/twitter/tiktok, makes me feel litterally sick. And even on Mastodon, I post once in a while but I don't like it)... So my work's pretty unknown, and sometimes I ask myself if it's worth it...
I feel like tumblr is definitely for art lovers. I feel like if it's art of from a fan base, I get a lot of interactions. Twitter is getting flooded with AI, and I see them get over 1k x_x
I left a long comment with a suggestion but it may have gotten deleted or something, can you check under the spam for this video (I've never been a youtuber before, I don't know where to find comments held in limbo). I really want to know if it will help you.
Hello, first of all, thank you so much for leaving a comment! As a small creator, this means a lot. And secondly, I am sorry to hear that your previous one got deleted, this is something that happens A LOT on TH-cam. (My comments sometimes got deleted on other videos too) and unfortunately, I cannot find extra comments on this channel. I totally get the frustration because when I spent time typing a long comment and it gets deleted, it's pretty helpless haha! But we just have to live like that I'm afraid. That is why I always leave a copy of comment if it's long. (Like this one) I really appreciate your time and effort to make a comment though, thanks a lot! ❤ (If you don't mind you may write it again, I know it means double work so it's up to you ^^)
@@Maoncake Hello, amazing to hear from you!! I love your art and I want you to get more recognition, I was recommending a tiny, tight-knit website to post on on which intermediate artists like me get rewarded with hundreds of likes (I got 700 on a post recently), which has no algorithm, and a great community. I will try to rewrite what I wrote, but since it took me 30 minutes last time to give all the necessary information, it won't be right now. But I will definitely share this with you, I think this site will be a great fit for you and your art style.
Ah that is great to hear, and I appreciate your effort for spending that much time, looking forward to it! If you want to contact me, you may also send it to my email maoncake@gmail.com :) Have a good day!

Amazing art! I hope you get the recognition you deserve! This was a great video to listen to as I drew haha! 🖤
Thank you! I'm glad to hear so. I will make more soon ^^ if you have any topic suggestions feel free to let me know!

Aw thank you so much! It's okay, at least I have you and some others here ❤️
I wish there was a space for small artists like cara, which is now pretty much back in the grave. A dc server would do wonders

I'm barely recognisable even though I've been on socials for years.
Well, trying is good but if you keep trying you'll be successful artist someday❤

Yeah, my fandom art usually gets quite a bit of interaction but the oc stuff gets none, lol
is it hard for small artist to grow up?
Me (cries in zero likes)
