I’ve found that doesn’t really hold true anymore unless you have a quality level that makes you top in your industry… otherwise algorithms see infrequent posts and you get buried with low engagement. Social media often operates and pushes up creators with lots of quantity content that can frequently post
If it works for you I’m really glad though! I’ve noticed people nowadays also enjoy consistent content without changes in style or subject, when they follow someone they often want the same vibe to curate to their tastes.
You're giving a wrong advice with a big confidence and a straight face. Quality over quantity doesn't work in social media and any artist would agree with it. If you were to draw the trending thing, you would have to do it fast before the trend died out and striving for quality contradicts it. Simple stuff with simple shadows and zero to no background based on popular themes and characters always gets more attention, than a fleshed out piece of art with immaculate details and render based on not so popular media. Quality > Quantity is a rule of the past, when DeviantArt was still the most used platform for art. Now you have to post constantly with broader reach to get followers. Only after you get the audience, you can start posting something "for your soul" from time to time. The only exception is if you want to work professionally in a studio where only skill and connections matter, but this video is not about that. Such plan barely works in social media and you have to be really lucky to get noticed that way.

I just rather make related content there, as that can usually attract attention and lead people to investigate on what you have. I hope miracles exist and I'll be seen with my hard work :)
thanks this is super helpful!! I tend to post art of more obscure or smaller fandoms (webtoons, death note) so that may have been where I flopped. Excited to add these changes in!
Such a good video, I noticed that TH-cam like to choose whether they going to put it out there or not it's very annoying for someone who is very small and already get maybe 1 view a day, the bad videos do good and the good videos do bad.
I do all these, and taken everyone else’s advice, yet my engagements is going down with every post and my followers list has remained the same amount of numbers for half a year. I’m sick of people saying to just be happy with my numbers, bc *news flash*, I am forever greatful, but what’s wrong with wanting to grow more, esp when I want to make a business at some point? I gain lots of attention but rarely follows. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve given up trying to improve.
Ty so much for this video :). I have a yt channel and it's not rlly preforming well because I BARELY post, I literally go months without posting because making just one piece of art takes me a lot of time. Also, I have so many things I want to post abt, but because my parents see my TH-cam channel and stuff, I can't really post about stuff I'm passionate about since they're going to ask about the things I'm drawing 😭.
i get that, have you considered going under a different username ? you should do the things youre passionate about even if that means not showing it to people close to you

Idk what will motivate me, also the fact that i dont really have any friends to encourage me and support me idk how to get the strength to get back to doing art when it once used to be the thing i loved doing the most
Thank you for all the tips Blue < 3 I´m trying to create more art content on social media now, and all this info will be very helpful on my artist journey.
honestly… I wish there was a button that disables you from seeing views, followers, and like counts. I need to teach myself not to be affected by numbers when I don’t get the result I want
I know insta has an option where you can hide the likes you receive ! I also think twitter (X) has something similar (?) I’ve seen some artists have no likes visible on there a while ago :D
I plan on doing more oc work I have a lot of ideias in my brain and I just need to put them into work For example My main oc will be from the future, he loves stuff from the 20 and 21st centuries, he tried to create a time machine of his own to visit the past, but in the process he gained acess to different realities, when he travels to some universe, he takes control of an alternate version of himself, and absorbs their memories and personalities Thats a fun concept for creating different versions of my main oc

if you dont post for a while your piece wont end up on others feeds, its like a light shadowban, if you start being a little more active it should help im sorry this has happended to you
Hey there... Thanks for the informative video. But I still have some questions... I want to upload my original stories and characters,but... I knowing that original projects don't get popular super fast or get really noticed, compared to fanart... While I don't mind uploading fanart, for many fanodoms I'm into... But, I'm kinda nervous, both because of copyright (I'm not planning on selling it,I only do so for fun and to get more followers.) and because if I'll upload too much fanart,my original content will go unnoticed... So what should I do? And where can I upload my original characters and stories,to get it more well-known to the public?
Does anyone have any tips on how to make people care for your OCs? 🖤 I’m a relatively new to posting OCs, so I don’t really know when to share stuff about them and how to make people care. 😅
I think as long as the art you draw of them is emotive, people will remember and soon become curious who the recurring character in your art is! I never draw fan art and nor do most of my mutuals, so there absolutely is an audience out there who prefer original art 💗
another comment said that slowly dropping hints about their story through their art over time will make people more interested in them and get attached! really focus on showing off their personalities! drawing a simple pose is ok for something like a character sheet but try and do more creative things to show off ur OCs normal activities and stuff! like if they love reading draw them sleeping surrounded by books drooling on the pages or if theyre aggressive show them gripping someones shirt with their fist about to beat tf out of them haha! something that does really well also is humor and relatability so people share it and are like "she just like me fr" LMAO if you can find a way to incorporate those things i think it should help! also random but sketches usually do really well too
Appreciate the video and you have such a great style! Your engagement % (likes per post vs follower count) is probably the highest I've ever seen for an art account! I guess it's from the community aspect/engaging with your audience as much as possible but it's very rare to see that high, so I'm curious if you think you do anything different to most artists to achieve that? :)
@@Bluebescuits Thanks for the reply! Oh sorry, I meant your engagement on your IG, even on your image/carousel posts the engagement likes/comments is super high! Or did you mean you post tutorials on IG stories/reels then? And perhaps that makes your community more engaged across the board? :)

You got find place share I’m working on sharing my art and start up my channel 🥺🙂
I just barely started posting my art here on TH-cam, I came here to figure out how to grow my channel. Thank you for this, you did a good job at explaining and I like your voice
Your art is like ✨✨so subbed. Hope that also helps
@@KilluaZxx- Thank you for subbing, you’re amazing 🫶🏽🫶🏽
@@BitterAsCoffee🫶🏻you’re too
tysm for this info i think i now know why my art doesnt do well on instagram, i do post decently consistant and a lot of fanart a lot of which being things that are trending, but i constantly switch style, color pallete and brushesso i think that might be my problemn
that might be BUT like i said in the video its good to test around with styles and brushes and to branch out, especially if your a newer artists since your trying to find yourself, youre doing everything right , its just socail media sucks
Thank you so much, I’ve been doing art for two years now and I really would like to grow my audience 😭
I’d like share my art to 👍
Golden advice here, thank you ✨️
I just opened my art account and i was so confused to get things started this gave me clearer ideas !
Hey thanks for this video! I’m not going to college and I’m trying to work on being an artist/animator full time! Thank you!💖💖
Thank you so much for encouraging me!
Now i feel more motivated to keep going as a artist!🤯😆
You got this just keep working on your art 😊
@@Mrmysterious-dj1ov I will keep that in mind!!!
Thanks a lot!:D
@@fushi564 your welcome 🤗
Thank you very much for this video Bloo!! ♥
I honestly feel that it will help me a lot, to be able to use my social networks in a better way, I thank you very much, you have always been my favorite artist, I love all your works, and I love the help that your videos give me! UwU
Thank you for this video, i might try to publish videos of how my animations look like as sketches. 🥰
Thank you so much for this video! This really helps a lot! I'm kind of struggling with Instagram at the moment..and I already quickly burned myself out!
WAKE UP YALL THE QUEEN HAS POSTED! 🎉❤
There’s some really great points here that I’ve not seen mentioned before! 😮
thank you so much for making this!! ive been thinking about starting a channel for my art, so this will help a lot. ❤❤
oo you should def
Go for it 🙂
I'll say this: thats probably the first sponsor ever that ive seen and im actually going to try it out. This couldnt have come at a better moment (altough im watching this months later from posting lol) because just today i was struggling with making a decent looking commission sheet ^^
Always a good day when blue uploads
thats so sweet thank you
Thank you!! I feel like the algorithm hates me, because I've barely gotten anywhere as in, 2-3 months now? as I am trying to make my au (undertale au) to be known. I always drop some info, plus I upload the comic on a different page compared to my tiktok, but I have the same username and everything you mentioned. I just rather make related content there, as that can usually attract attention and lead people to investigate on what you have. I hope miracles exist and I'll be seen with my hard work :)
Shes back after 2 months yay :D
HAHAHAH dont call me out like that XD
@@Bluebescuits XD
My first thought too :D 😂
Dang they must have paid CRAZY for a 2 minute+ sponsor segment
YAAYY bluebiscuits posted! 🎉
Aaaah it's hard to gain visibility these days and it's quite demotivating sometimes, but I'll keep going !! Thanks for this video
Even if get share with few people if people like what do and encourage you it still a wonderful thing 😊
LETS GOOOO BLUE UPLOAD ❤
thanks this is super helpful!! I tend to post art of more obscure or smaller fandoms (webtoons, death note) so that may have been where I flopped. Excited to add these changes in!
Oh fascinating! As someone who is trying to grow on several platforms, I take this video as great advice, I better take notes!
love when you post bloo
This will help a lot and am definitely going to follow these! Thank you, Blue ☺
one of my main struggles is my artstyle changing too much, but ill get a stable one one day
Such a good video, I noticed that TH-cam like to choose whether they going to put it out there or not it's very annoying for someone who is very small and already get maybe 1 view a day, the bad videos do good and the good videos do bad.
Extrañe tus vídeos, me alegro mucho que hayas vuelto 🌸👌
I do all these, and taken everyone else’s advice, yet my engagements is going down with every post and my followers list has remained the same amount of numbers for half a year. I’m sick of people saying to just be happy with my numbers, bc *news flash*, I am forever greatful, but what’s wrong with wanting to grow more, esp when I want to make a business at some point?
I gain lots of attention but rarely follows. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve given up trying to improve.
Commenting as an artist trying to grow 🎉 You guys got this 🥰
Bloo out here like helping us strive! Thanks Bloo !✨
Please give us tips on how to shoot reels of digital art!
I agree since it is the current main way to reach new people 😒😞 I really miss the time when pictures were the main pieces to follow
Well, im just start posting my art. Well, its gonna be rollercoaster for my emotion.
Ty so much for this video :). I have a yt channel and it's not rlly preforming well because I BARELY post, I literally go months without posting because making just one piece of art takes me a lot of time. Also, I have so many things I want to post abt, but because my parents see my TH-cam channel and stuff, I can't really post about stuff I'm passionate about since they're going to ask about the things I'm drawing 😭.
i get that, have you considered going under a different username ? you should do the things youre passionate about even if that means not showing it to people close to you
@@Bluebescuits I mean, ur right. I just posted a video yesterday abt a drawing I did for a popular show on the internet rn, and I just did it because I’m just tired of not posting for a while, and I still have a lot more work to do since posting one thing abt a fandom isn’t going save my channel, but thx for the advice! I’ll see if I can change my username into something more memorable, but at the moment idk because I have a hard time coming up with usernames lol
I just start my channel today 🎉😊
Thank You, Blue I've been starting growing as an Artist because I had lack of fans and supports so yeah❤🎉
your character and voice is so addictive 🤭
Thanks for your candid advice! I'll be sure to put it to use ^^
yay my fav artist posted
Video starts at 2:30
This might come across as a little vent but this is just my genuine experience.
I've struggled with a lot of depression and my own personal setbacks in life since 2020, i used to post my art before that on insta and had like 500 followers but not rly any identity or consistency and since then due to my irl problems i completely stopped posting and became a passive consumer of other's art on social media and ever since then i havent had the courage to restart I've just been afraid and during this time I've also seen much better artists than myself, my lack of experience of these 4 yrs, the whole scene of nfts and ai... like i am discouraged beyond repair. Idk what will motivate me, also the fact that i dont really have any friends to encourage me and support me idk how to get the strength to get back to doing art when it once used to be the thing i loved doing the most
I'm so happy I stumbled onto your TH-cam channel ugh 😭
Thank you for all the tips Blue < 3 I´m trying to create more art content on social media now, and all this info will be very helpful on my artist journey.
This is helpful 💗 your tutorial for everything really helps :3 trying to improve more in TH-cam and art
honestly… I wish there was a button that disables you from seeing views, followers, and like counts. I need to teach myself not to be affected by numbers when I don’t get the result I want
I know insta has an option where you can hide the likes you receive ! I also think twitter (X) has something similar (?) I’ve seen some artists have no likes visible on there a while ago :D
I plan on doing more oc work
I have a lot of ideias in my brain and I just need to put them into work
For example
My main oc will be from the future, he loves stuff from the 20 and 21st centuries, he tried to create a time machine of his own to visit the past, but in the process he gained acess to different realities, when he travels to some universe, he takes control of an alternate version of himself, and absorbs their memories and personalities
Thats a fun concept for creating different versions of my main oc
Thank you for posting this! Been trying to revive my art acc but so much ahs changed lately
I hate that I don't have any interaction in my draws ANYTHING, just dumb bot accounts 😢
All the management of social media it's always ending really difficult to me
Thank you so much! Now I know to have shared user names instead of different ones…along with several other things. Glad I found this video before my social media presence got more confusing😅
Ideas occurred to me while listening to you, thank you very much ♡
i started drawing and thx for the help. and thx for putting the sponsers in the begining
TY so muchh i needed it! and love ur artstyle
THIS IS PERFECT ❤ I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS
thanks for ur informative video! Im struggling to be consistent lately since Im taking course but I will start reporting once a week from my old works!
- Omg It's so hard for me to make out what you're saying sometimes, probably because I'm not a native English speaker... I absolutely love your art tho, thank you for the video! 🤍
nah I'm a native speaker and multilingual and she's just very mumbly and fast-talking. Good content in the video but needs to be in writing :')
instagram has me kinda shadowbanned on both my art accounts, not even a single like from people who don´t follow me, not even the bots come to say to dm my art to their accounts, and I don't know why, I don't have anything that goes against Instagram rules.
if you dont post for a while your piece wont end up on others feeds, its like a light shadowban, if you start being a little more active it should help
im sorry this has happended to you
Blu: today's sponsor is kittl
Me who tried to use it: Oh, WHEN ARE THEY GONNA FIX THAT THING. I CANT EVEN CHANGE THE FONT WITHOUT IT CRASHING!
Thanks for the information! I take a lot of notes. I really apreciate your advices.
I needed a video tutorial like this
Hey there...
I never draw fan art and nor do most of my mutuals, so there absolutely is an audience out there who prefer original art 💗
another comment said that slowly dropping hints about their story through their art over time will make people more interested in them and get attached! really focus on showing off their personalities! drawing a simple pose is ok for something like a character sheet but try and do more creative things to show off ur OCs normal activities and stuff! like if they love reading draw them sleeping surrounded by books drooling on the pages or if theyre aggressive show them gripping someones shirt with their fist about to beat tf out of them haha! something that does really well also is humor and relatability so people share it and are like "she just like me fr" LMAO if you can find a way to incorporate those things i think it should help! also random but sketches usually do really well too
man i just like hearing your voice.
hsahikhsduwdhu thank youu
Your from video got me started as an artist!
As for this video it will be useful for me, soon
mehhhehehe I was here before all of you. Fear meh. Anyway hi blueeee I was just trying to find a video based on this
speedyy, i hope the video is able to help
@@Bluebescuits it is thank you! Also I'm inlove with your artstyle!
thats sweet thank you
@@Bluebescuits Thanks for the reply! Oh sorry, I meant your engagement on your IG, even on your image/carousel posts the engagement likes/comments is super high!
Or did you mean you post tutorials on IG stories/reels then? And perhaps that makes your community more engaged across the board? :)
@@Matt-fo4gg oooooo ok yeah that makes sense, my IG is pretty active. I think it’s just the amount I post or what I post, and a lot of people come from TH-cam and go to my insta so I think that’s it ASWELL :)
@@Bluebescuits That makes sense, definitely seems to help having an audience across platforms like that. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts :) and it's positive to see you doing so well on there!
the tips a lot of videos show is to just advertise your art on your other social medias to gain followers on your art account and like... I don't have a lot of followers on either!
These are very valid points
thank you for making this video. i can only dream of having a good handful of followers on my social media
Thia girl just draws hot guys and yk what... it slays
Thank you!!! this is motivating me to really try as I want to do something with my art and I want to grow! I have mostly just drawn OC art without even thinking about how people look at them and just go, "oh who is this?" that and also I post like once in a blue moon Very informational video thank you again!
