- NIKE VANDAL "TERMINATOR" OG RESTORATION- In this video we continue restoring the 36 year old Nike sneakers worn by Kyle Reese in the 1984 film, The Terminator. These now iconic sneakers were purchased from a Japanese auction site for less than $100 but they're worth a LOT more in better condition. Join me as I begin work on these in 3 camera 4K UHD!

Nice and amazing, these are as iconic as the air mag, rock them, enjoy them, these model it's one of my grails
I looked for them (in my size) forever it seems. When these popped up at a decent price I just had to jump on it but honestly I was expecting them to be kind of cooked. When they arrived in very wearable condition, I was beyond happy!
I bought a vnds pair of the retros back in October for $165 only wore them 3 times. The top grail of all my shoes 🤠

If your worried about tape being to sticky, just stick it on your shirt first and it’ll be way less tacky but still hold
Good call! I do that on the table sometimes but a shirt is actually a much better idea. The tape I use is pretty good but anytime there's a finish like metallic and it's old, I tend to worry.

Despite the effort, there is no proof this will hold up. The color will always be rich when applied, but the trust test is rinsing it out, realistically you need to use colo stay also! This helps the dye actually stick, I’m not sure if applying color stay through a spray nozzle will be effective or not, the only plausible thing to do is to just sink them in a water dye bucket, then sinking them in the color stay bucket, I’ve done this method on white af1 and have seen the crazy result of how well the color stays on even after rinsing.

i've seen them in Terminator and been in love with them since, but never seen them in person. They look sick... i wish i could just dailydrive them if they'd be more availble
The 2015 version is aviable on eBay and the og 1985 is so rare that it can be sold for the price of a used car but hope that you'll find it one day

Once restored are these wearable or purely cosmetic for display
These are going to be worn HEAVILY! The soles have plenty of life and the padding is actually still very plush. I can't wait to rock them.
