John, I want tp compliment you on your attention to detail, and your beautiful results! If you don't have a commercial service, you really should have one, if you think you'd enjoy repairing for clients. Excellent work.
Idiots and their money are soon parted. Apparently there are enough idiots out there willing to drop $$$$$ on Air Jordans to keep this market lucrative.
Never understood? Many people are fans of shoes and many look sick and are good products with a lot of work behind them. Limited editions of anything that is cool and usable is going for much higher prices then the initial release price.
Nice man. Never restored shoes before but I’ve restored and refinished furniture and cabinetry for 2/3 of my life. It’s basically the same steps with different materials and the required eye for detail is the same. Great video.
Great work on these Air Max 1 , the Atmos safari is one of the dopest colourways ever used for that shoe. The "Carharrt" fabric, the elephant print, the green Swooshs on the backside, the small ones at the front on the toe box...it is a true Air Max and after 20 years of release you can call it a classic which screams for a re-release.
For $1800, you could source a shoemaker to build you a new pair, that price is absolutely not warranted. This type of thing is why I haven't been able to get AF1s since I was a kid and it's only getting worse.
Wow!! You are a visionary... I'd never have thought those shoes were salvageable -- they'd been in the trash. But what an incredible transformation; true art and skill... well done.
@Mork I'd say that you may be missing the point of my post, politely speaking; this is no different than buying parts from a junker car to restore a classic car... I think that is exactly what was done here. There was nothing special about the new pair of shoes and salvaging good parts to restore and modify a classic pair of shows was what he had done, and done well. I for one wouldn't know where to start in doing this, and I doubt I would ever develop the skill to do it. Also, when I said 'visionary', I was actually thinking about how many pairs of old shoes I have tossed or donated, never thinking they were salvageable.... seeing what this young man can do with an old pair of shoes, to me, is quite visionary.
I usually watch boot and leather restoration but this was off the hook! Homeboy watches cooking videos while he rebuilds shoes...I watch his shoe rebuild videos while I cook....🤯
J, some people put the extra insole in the shoe 👟 to hel flip out the shoe of you have a narrow thin foot. Biggest reason is if you have to constantly cinch the shoe tight to fit your foot 🦶 the shoes wear terribly so the insole helps just fill out that shoe
These turned out amazing as do every restoration you do. You ain’t lying though when it comes to these crazy prices some of these shoes are going for nowadays. I was just looking for a pair of the 2016 Jordan 2 lows and remember when you could barely give them away and now people are selling them on Goat for over 450 in most sizes which is insane. Even beat used pairs were selling for over what they were retail.
i had a pair of reeboks i ran in them for years. they started to go - i sewed a mend, glued them. used white house paint to seal them. and i still was using them. they looked like a pair of shoes on a mummy. eventually i binned them. they were held together by a crusty outer layer. best shoes ever. they had a leather heel grip that did not slide. so no heel burn. they molded to my feet. i threw them out when i stopped running? around 2002.
I’ve about 50 pairs of bike trainers 👟 most are new and boxed but I’ve 2 pairs I want to restore so I’ve just come across your channel and I’ll be watching to learn how to restore my nike trainers grate videos and grate work bro love it keep it up 👍
You should try some compressed air to get the heavy dust and dirt instead of using a brush. The brush tends to push some of the dirt deep into the fibers. Compressed air can blast everything out without even touching the fabric
i didn't even know this was a 'thing' until i happened across this..... astonished at your talent, really impressive. My wife has an old pair of canvas Nike's and the sole has come apart and is starting to degrade....
Wow so impressed! can sneakers really live for ever, seems that's the case with good skills, from the thumbnail i didn't think it was possible which is why i clicked, Fu(king good job man!
You did a great job. I’m a European expertise cobbler with a lot of shoes made and you man did amazing job but one little advice, try to find real shoemaking glue, there are two types, try to find yellow special shoemaking glue which will be much stronger using heat than any other. Respect 🙌🏻
John, I want tp compliment you on your attention to detail, and your beautiful results! If you don't have a commercial service, you really should have one, if you think you'd enjoy repairing for clients. Excellent work.
I've never understood the fascination and trend of buying overpriced training shoes but this is a brilliant restoration
Idiots and their money are soon parted. Apparently there are enough idiots out there willing to drop $$$$$ on Air Jordans to keep this market lucrative.
It’s weird and dumb but everyone is obsessed with showing off for people they don’t even know
@@morningstar7401 - a lot of people go broke trying to impress people who, at the end of the day, could really care less anyway!

I've got the dunk and the materials are pretty sweet on that too

I got anxious on the bubble when you were doing it. Might try using the Cricut Weeder Tool for that part.
I clicked this just KNOWING it was clickbait, wasn’t no way my guy restored those things. But was I wrong! Good work. Dope video.
