Just saw this video 👍👍👍 The song that had always touched my heart - “Kaviyama nenjin oviyama” from the movie Pavai vilakku. The song sequence was filmed at Taj Mahal and nobody can forget the fabulous acting by Sivaji Sir and M.N. Rajam Mam and soulful rendition by C.S. Jayaraman Sir and P. Susheela Mam. What mesmerising expressions by the actors and divine singing by the singers, not forgetting the beautiful lyrics. To date I get goosebumps whenever I watch this song sequence on youtube. Brother, I visited Taj Mahal twice and I heard Shah Jahan's ruling years is a Golden Era, such a good person and and gave equality for Hindu religion, also that's why the kumbam is placed on the top of Taj Mahal. Andon the view the chopping fingers and digging eyes all are "jodipe kathai". This based on the tourists guides, different years and time but same explanation given.

Bhadshanama, official history of Shahjahan written by court chronicler Abdul Hamid lahori mentions Taj mahal has a pre existing structure taken by Shahjahan from Raja Jai Singh.
Badshahnama (on page 403, Vol. 1), Shah Jahan states that a grand mansion of unique splendor, capped with a dome, (imaarat-e-alishan wagumbaze) in Agra was taken from the Jaipur Maharaja Jaisingh for Mumtaz's burial.
So as per Bhadshanama, Taj Mahal is a pre existing structure acquired by shah jahan from its then owner Raja Jai Singh who was the grand son of Raja Mansingh..
