Hey Kincade another thing you can do to increase top end power and hit is adjusting the power valve to bit a bit more aggressive, I have a gnarly and a procircuit pipe and to me the gnarly has a very very marginal bottom end power gain over the procircuit however the procircuit was way more top end power
Hey mate. I had an injured left hand for a while. The Clake one light clutch really helped me out. It’s expensive but allows easy one finger clutch work and allowed me to grip significantly easier.
I have a 2004 Ktm 200 sx I just recently rebuilt.. I also tried a gnarly pipe but didn’t like it and went back to the stock pipe as it has more top end needed for long sand climbs. Your bike sounds good. The one comment I have after using your videos to rebuild my bike is your stator timing . I marked my timing in case before I removed so I could re align it easy my mark is in between the two marks on stator … I’d say about 11:50 on a one handed clock.. hope you that makes sense…
Been Watching all the videos on the 200 since the start, glad to see you got her running good now, it's hard to tell over video but it seems like it's still not hitting hard on the bottom end. Like I said hard to tell over video but, I just recently sold an 04 ktm 200, it had a stock pipe and the bottom end felt very healthy, almost hit as hard as a 250. At the same time I had a rm 125 as well and the 200 had way way more bottom end. Defiantly didn't need to use the clutch to get the front end up in first or second. I agree with what your saying on the gnarly pipe, I've recently just bought a 2012 ktm 300 and it had a gnarly, that pipe seems to rob all mid and top end. Anyways, good luck at silver kings brotha, hope ya have a blast and the content has been great!
I'm on the other side of the world and can only comment on what I see in the videos but I still think you've got a problem with power output, I hate to say! The few seconds following 10:30 really highlight that, It should have thrown you off the back! Having owned 125s, a 200 and a 250 from this era, the 200 puts out impressive top end, even compared to the 250. I'm no mechanic but Id be double checking you're not losing final drive, possibly even throw it on a dyno? That would make an interesting video. I hope you get it sorted man!
I agree I have a 200 and it’s pulling me off the bike and more than happy to lift the tire.. I understand I have sx and different gear ratios but I think your missing some power still ether with the pipe or the timing possible. Or both.. not sure but my bike sounds more popcorn than yours ..
The Gnarlie is what is holding your too end back. I've spent hours trying to tune my carb and PV to work well at the too end with a Gnarlie. I always go back to the Pro Circuit.
I have a 99 200 and the low to mid is amazing. As for wheelies I can get it to pull up in 4 of the 6 gears easily. Gear 5 and 6 need some clutch and more work to do it, however it will. I'm only a 140lb rider though. I hope this helps.
Fractured my wrist in a motorcycle accident years ago. Car pulled out in front of me and my handlebars rolled forward on impact. I had numbness in my pinky and third finger. Hook of hamate fracture was causing all the problems pinching a nerve. Had to have surgery to get it corrected. Doctor said my fingers would go completely numb eventually and fingers would fall off from no circulation getting to them if I didn’t get it fixed. Find a good hand surgeon if that’s your issue. Wrist was super stiff and needed physical therapy after surgery. Good luck with it man, hopefully that’s not your case.
Your videos are incredible, I ride a 2022 KTM 150 TPI, the bike is extremely agile, but leaves something to be desired when it comes to strength. I hope the race has plenty of space to pack, as in hard Enduro they are more difficult to operate…
Open the power valve to flush withthe case and if u still want more buy a ro tek head. Or if money is no option go with the full tsp kit set up for that bike.
Dang your videos are so interesting, they keep you on the screen for all the time. And the content and quality is really good, hope you keep your "style" of videos like now, maybe in the future I hope to see some Motard too maybe, would be cool for the next giveaway
give your hand some time. if its nerve damage its gonna take a while to get better. i've cut a finger or two off and it just takes time for the nerves to grow and heal. cant wait to see the bike hit siver kings again!
A little late for my input.... But better late than never I had a FMF Gnarly pipe on my KTM SX 150.. and OMG it was the WORST for choking its top end.... Switched to a Pro Circuit pipe and silencer.... HUUUGE difference!!!! Such a difference, that it was easily noticeable, even on a bike as limited on power, as the 150cc....
Hand-finger problem. Check the position of the head while driving, because it could be a problem with the cervical vertebrae. (The weight of the helmet...) When this happens to me, I correct my posture/head position while driving and it's ok..
My left pinky finger goes numb after a long ride, stretches and strength training tool for the hand, like some guitar players use really helped, hope you can get it figured out
Hey man live the vids, I would extremely recommend picking up a set of Steg pegz for this bike, I know they sound and look gimmicky but me and my dad have used them, I have nerve damage in my left ring finger and my dad has tendinitis in both hands making it difficult to hold on but the Steg pegz is insane how much it take pressure off your hands while standing, so it may be worth it to look into a set, keep it up always look forward to these vids
@@ovidiumuncu9168 He's using a smartcarb. I used to to run CEK#3, 180main, 45 pilot, a/s 1.5turns out for linear power. Got those specs from JD Jetting before he started the company.
Do you have recommendations for increasing bottom end power on my 2003 yz125? I really want to get an old ktm like yours as that was my dream bike that got away when I was kid (let’s just say I made bad choices) but to get one I have to sell my 125 but it’s my only bike so I need to get everything I can get out of it in the meantime.
Have you had a PT check in your forearm and your neck for nerve entrapments? I have issues with my thumb pads in both hand and after a lot of searching a PT did some work on my C6 in my neck poof issue gone. It has come back but we are working on fixing issues with my upper back and neck (bump helmets w nods and pletors over the years have finally come back to bite me). Could be even a muscle in your forearm pinching the nerve off to your hand or something as well
Maybe 2 teeth higher rear sporcket for easier front end pops? (Ín case you if you still didn't figured the wheelies till the end of the ride, -it seems you got those wheelies as well already : )
Also a thing with the 2006 model ktm200exc or xcw is that in that yr the engine got less powerfull compared to the 2005 previous models. So from 2006 on the engine wasn't as powerful as the early models. Compared to my friends 1999 ktm200exc my 2006 kmt200exc has a lot less power and doesn't hit as hard. Also I have tried both stock and Fmf gnarly pipes and there is almost no difference, maybe the stock pipe revs out a little more but thats it.
You really should verify that the squish is set correct. Insert a bit of solder wire in the spark plug hole of the head and carefully crank it over from the flywheel and measure the squish. To little of squish should make the bike behave like what you are experiencing now. Make sure that you do it on the both sides simultaneously so the play from side to side of the piston wont give false results.
I have a problem with my 2022 crf125f 4 stroke. where I can only lift the front tire up only in first. No matter how much I give her the beans or my timing with the clutch I just can’t bring her up. If you have any tips I will be grateful but I also think I might need to just get more riding time in
Hey Kincade, sounds like your getting it dialed in. I have my original pipe for my 08 xcw200 (currently running pro circuit) I'm in the twin falls idaho area. My bike runs really good so I doubt I ever put the stock one back on. Just need to figure out how to get it to you.
Hey Richard, I'd love to try that pipe out! Let me know how much you'd like for it. If you want to send me an email (kincadep@gmail.com), I could get you a shipping label as well. Let me know, thanks!!
Does anybody know why your 2 stroke would change like power wise every so often Btw for the bike lifting up i feel the same it seems to have a point where it wants to lift up And i have the same problem with the pipe being crooked i dont know why it is or if its builg like that
I'd love to have the KDX back to compare again now. The KDX has a more aggressive "hit". My 200 now feels strong, but the linearity in the power makes it feels like a smooth transition even when you need a hit.

For your hand, try rice bucket training. I did it to help re strengthen my wrists, and it helps a lot with arm pump.
I have close to the same issue on my right hand jammed my wrist and hand real bad riding one day and it has never really stopped hurting
Urmosi bar clamps help a ton for vibration dampen and anti fatigue

when you were riding on the road it still sounded like the clutch was slipping
My thought exactly
Regarding the hand issues you may have a slipped disc in your shoulder, my dad had the same issue in both !
If your hand is a messed up nerve it will take around 8 months to feel fully better I just try to ignore mine then let it heal over winter
