Such valuable content man, feel bad for anyone who hasn't found your channel yet! It's quite tough for me to find my own pricing for a few reasons. First is there's no one I know around me at my age (21) that has gotten their Production Company established and landed large companies like what I already have. People are sceptical by my age, so trying to price accordingly is a complicated experience. I've been told by people that my production quality FAR exceeded their standards, which was both very humbling but concerning. Looks like I have to talk to a different age bracket for pricing advice!

Great video, but there are frequent audio artefacts (mic crackling?) in there that are very distracting.

Hey Ross, do you believe having your TH-cam channel has brought in new clients? And would you advice a videographer to set up a YT channel with tips on film making or a behind the scenes look on projects to get more business?

Hey! Personally, no. I think your best bet is to create a stunning Instagram page and focus on other forms of marketing 👌 you'll attract other filmmakers, which is cool, but probably not too many businesses 😊

Hey Ross! Quick question here. So, I was cold calling people to create videos for their businesses and one of them was interested, so we set a meeting, but I feel really scared to reveal my price when they ask me because I have a fear of losing them as a client, because of the price that I'll tell them. How can I eliminate that fear? I love the series by the way!🎬🙌

Hey! Thanks dude 👊 it's important to remember that you're not alone! I promise you I get the same feeling from time to time.
The main thing that helped me was having fixed pricing and putting it on my website. That way I could say "for transparency our prices are here..." then it felt like I was genuine and they would appreciate that too.
Experience tells you that it doesn't really matter. If the have the money they won't mind and if they don't, we'll, you can ask them what they are willing to spend and then see if you can do a deal 🤘🙌

@@RossWelchThanks for the informative answer! It really helped! The other thing that I really hate hearing from a client is: "We'll think about it", which is a polite "no" and it is really difficult to know how to react in a situation like this.

@@predeo.agency - Thank you and I can totally understand that you need your time to think about the offer and on how video content can help your company. May we can set up a call for next monday and develope a deal together?

Theres a video Ross created, not sure if it's in TH-cam or the webinar 🤔 but basically, you have your price in mind, e.g 5k, so you tell the client, "so to create this from scratch to finish, itll cost you 5k, HOW'S THAT?" then you keep quiet, dont flinch or justify, stand by it like its the usual, that tip helped me, although i did the job for less but it helped

Yeah I agree, you could also say to them, that's totally fine, do you have any other questions you need answered that will help your decision.

What does it cost? The own Dayrates for a projects are not a problem and when you're into it, you also can give a number fast. But what when the video the client wants also need a specific location and actors? This is still a problem for me. Cause I already burned a good location contact just because of communication with the client. A lot of back and forth with the endresult, client left and contact burned. And this was not the first time. A potential client who is ok with my rates and so I started to get contacts and prices for a location. And then, client left and you feel like the idiot in front of the contacts you texted to. So, may you have an advise for handling such requests?

Hey Sven, running a studio location ourselves, it's not uncommon for shoots to get cancelled or moved. I'd suggest having a video production workflow so that when clients want a price on actors and locations you can give them a guide eg. 200-700 for an actor, depending on quality and est. 1000-5000 for a location. You can then go away and do more research but maybe they have to pay for that time.
It's tricky mate but I don't think the locations will mind too much. As for the clients, I'd be more vague with them to start to see if they are serious or find out their budget 😊

@@RossWelch With time I would say that I developed a good feeling for someone who is shopping around and someone who is willing to work with me. I have a little Studio at the moment at the moment where I can do typical studio background product shots. But it‘s getting a problem if a kitchen or bathroom is needed.
