Hey Ross. Subscriber since less 10k. I got my custom email address and it actually helps. Thanks for the tip! Also build a webpage (just have to redesign it as my portfolio grew since the 1st version). Opened official ID at financial department to issue invoices (all big companies want it). Without it wouldn't be able to sign a big contract this summer. Making photos of places and products even if I'm just eating there and texting them later. It helped me to grow my client base as well as started growing my youtube. with all that said, THANK YOU! :)
I've started my Production Company VERY recently (1 Week Old) and thankfully have a nice variety of content up already for my portfolio (Including a slew of Business training videos) Most of it was shot only a few months ago as a freelancer. Better yet my separate Gaming TH-cam Channel helped me get sponsored product reviews with BenQ! Was able to make some shorter cinematics too from the working files for the Business. I took your advice on finding lesser name brands to showcase too, it's created a REALLY good variety in my portfolio! THANKS!! 😄
Hey Ross! I just want to thank you for all the video production guide, they are really helpful! I'm not sure, if that's something you guys are planning to do, but I'd love to see a video on the ROI marketing side. Like, how do I convert a video for a client into actual sales for the client. A banger video isn't enough, if it's not shown to the right audience, right?
Hey Jonas! Thanks for the comment dude. That's a great idea. In short, it's difficult to often tell however if you also sell them a marketing strategy and social media management, you can track in much better 😊 we don't gurentee ROI on video because lots of things are out of our hands. But we do gurentee we will make an awesome vidoe 🤘
That deposit tip* is really good one! Have to try these. Webpage and email coming up already. I would love to do some real estate, commercial and wedding films but do you think is good idea to put everything on one webpage?
Banger vid yet again 👊🏼 Quick question (and maybe you’re going to touch on this in a future video) but what do you think is a fair amount of money to invest to start a beginner production company?
Hey Tyler, really appreciate it dude! That's a difficult one to say... really, if you have enough for a basic DSLR (even second hand) then you're physically able to start making money and reaching out to clients. Most of the points with growing a filmmaking business are often "free" but just take time. There are things like an email and website, which if you're happy to do yourself will save you lots of money and keep costs down. I hope that helps a little??? Basically it can be done really cheap or if you have some cash, you can obviously make your life easier by paying people from day 1 to do these things for you. Personally I bought my first camera for 300 and then the money I made from my shoots I spend on 'upgrading' by gear and business 😊🔥
It's pretty difficult to make content that suits both pros and beginners, hence I tend to mix up the content. I'm glad that the email address isn't an issue for you but unfortunately it is an issue for lots of others. On a constructive note, what do you want to learn and maybe I'll create a video on it...?
@@RossWelch lots of who ? give examples websites aint carrying any large amount of clients word of mouth does that . you speaking about coporate clients not regular ppl.
I'm with Ross here; if you don't have an email address that matches your business, it looks very cheap and unprofessional. You can get web hosting and unlimited email addresses for about £50 a year so it's a drop in the ocean and there's no excuse to hold out.

I can confirm, as soon as I got my website and email sorted, clients that didn't reply to me before actually booked me for work
Hi curious to know who did you use for your website? Something like wix or godaddy?

I'd put everything on to one page apart from the weddings, I'd keep that separate 😊🙌👌
Awesome Video Ross

Super underated channel, but maybe that's a good thing ;)

Your vague reply leaves me confused 🤣
