Versus and Unseen have some really good stuff, but they are the worst from The Haunted's discography. They aren't so bad to be considered their Load or ReLoad (or even St. Anger), but they aren't as good as their other albums... Versus could've been one of their best albums if there were some of the songs on it that weren't included originally (they were released on their live album Road Kill as bonus tracks though, which was released a year later if I'm not mistaken) and the majority of 'leftovers' were better than those that made it on the album, at least in my opinion... So for me, like I said, Versus could've been one of their best albums, but so many great songs excluded from it made it sound like it was, how shall I put it, well, incomplete in a way, especially when I first heard it in 2008 after being blown away by their previous album, The Dead Eye... As for Unseen - Well, the one thing that can be seen (and the one that cannot be unseen :D) was that this was an album where it seemed like the band found itself in a sort of 'indentity crisis' as some of the members wanted to go in a different direction than the others and although I like the experimental stuff on it, it sounds 'messy' as a whole... It isn't a bad album - it has its moments and I like the more melodic approach the band took, but it felt like they wanted to get more experimental and melodic and at the same time didn't want to lose their 'thrashy' roots, so the final result was an album which could go in any direction, but it couldn't decide in which one it should go, so it went everywhere at once and lost itself on the way... The best balance between heaviness and melody was, in my opinion, The Dead Eye, but that album was focused and it had a perfect combination of heaviness and melody whereas Unseen was unfocused and it lost all its potential in the end because, like I said, it seemed like the band's lineup at the time wasn't sure in which direction they should go... Maybe the band feels the same way about those albums now (especially Jensen and Jonas, who are the only ones left from the lineup that played on those albums), so they don't play the songs from those records live anymore, but I can't imagine Marco singing anything from Unseen anyway, but some songs from Versus would be great to hear being performed by him, especially Moronic Colossus or Faultline.
LYRICS: Deeper and deeper Trapped under your skin I bet you'd never thought you'd find me here? I'm your designed poison Your final disease I've come to set your world alight All I need is a little spark So now that I've found you Join me at the edge of your life From where we can watch it all burn! Watch it all burn Burn! Watch it all burn One of many voices screaming in my head Feed the spark, and I'll make them go away Stand firm as the flames come closer, dancing on your skin Making sure you never feel this way again Burn! Harder and harder to wash it clean All the filth I left behind Try as you may, I just won't stop
Never really payed attention to any of that! Might be a stupid question, but why is his form of cupping the mic correct? Ive heard lots of arguments but never any real advice.
@@TheMexcutioner alot of people just hold the mic in a poor position where their hand just muffles the sound and they look like an idiot but not this guy
I would love to hear a mix of this where they take that breakdown and scream at 2:10 ish and just double the length of it, it is sooo sick, so clean, and so consistent.
Another person only here because Ola captured my interest from his TH-cam videos. I've had Made Me Do It in my iPod rotation for years, but The Haunted has never been a band I followed. That might change.
Amazing song check amazing dark tone check amazing clean/heavy music check holy shit I though abysmal was the best haunted song now they proved me wrong welcome back the haunted
This song remind me of mouth for war from pantera, especially 0:33 .. And yeah it's ola behind it because of his obssesion with Dimebag. Dont mean its bad, i like it alot because i love pantera too. Good job guys

If you really want to know... few members in this band came from a more legendary band known as "at the gates". Check them out. In fact... at the gates lead singer was part of many bands like grotesque, even a punk rock type band skitsystem and many others...at the gates made one of the greatest metal band albums all time hands down, called slaughter of the soul. The band even broke up after that album, temporarily and citing that they believed that album was so perfect they just cannot make a better album and yeah while they did come back many times over, it was so cool at the time. Then this band called the Haunted who has about 3 members from at the gates, and ola who was frol six feet under band.... but do yourself a favor and find the first haunted album it is self titled... the album is called the haunted and the first track is called hate song... you can play that album entirely without skipping any songs, that is how amazing it is.
+Noquieroponerminombrecompletomaricas It doesn't mean anything, it's a saying. If you really want to abuse me you could hit up my channel - I cover Ola's solo for The Haunted song "Brute Force" 🐺
Knockturnal had good things to say about these guys and he never steers me wrong. I'm so glad to see some banging music videos. They are rare! Keep it up fellas! You fuckin rock 🪨 🔥🔥
I love Ola’s style of riffing. He’s such a great guitarist.
I started listening to these guys because of Ola Englund. Love that dude
Joe Martinez They made killer stuff before Ola as well, check out all their albums up to The Dead Eye (Unseen and Versus kind of stink)
You should try rEVOLVEr. Peter Dolving at its best!
@@robacdc1977 Versus has some kickass tracks on it. Moronic Colossus should still be a part of every liveshow....really energetic song ;-)
Joe Martinez .SAME HERE BRO!!!..MAN OLA IS SO TALENTED!! FUCKEN AMAZZZING GUITAR PLAYER & WRITER!!🔥🔥🔥😈😈😈
Same here, sound awesome!
Those growls have such a rounded rumbling sound, yet such great word clarity, amazing. I came here from the Solar Guitar demo
You can definitely listen to Ola's riffing here! Killer!
Vasilis Ziogas apla gamaei t album
He plays that power chord sliding riff whenever he picks up a guitar to review in his channel.
That solo is beautiful! Lots of feeling in those licks!
I haven't heard this band since I was in high school before 2010. They've definitely upped their game since then, I'm very impressed
Every band member is KILLING IT!!!
This is by far, the best of the three new songs. I think it has the "The Haunted" groove that many of us are missing.
BLOWING UP SPEAKERS SINCE 1996!
not exactly. they made some pretty mediocre albums not to say bad.
Yeah, Versus and Unseen, but there's still some good shit on those albums.
actually they made a respected direction .. the haunted are so professional in any direction .. really one of
those who create original riffs !!

wow .. well said dude .. u expalined it very well in deatails .. i feel like u were with the band when they decided to record versus and unseen :D
Most underrated band in metal.
Hahah get a grip
"YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT'S COMING THROUGH THAT DOOR" - Rick Harrison - Pawn Stars.
Fav band. Changes or not they still kill it.
Ola Englund: Making the Haunted Great Again!
I didn't like Versus and Unseen (especially) that much, I loved Exit Wounds and this one sounds really promising
Kristian Moore One of my favorites too, the best with Dolving for sure
Lol Jensen is the key ,always been
I don't want to take anything away from him of course, but I think most of the music was written by Ola this time around
Dave G. O'field fuck yeah brother
These riffs, that voice! Wow! Great The Haunted.
I love the sound Jocke and marco get together. madness!
Wow I forgot about these guys , 16 years later I decided to look them up ! I like what I hear !!!!!! Hello from Michigan !
2020 I started listening again the haunted to hear Ola.

Ola riffs are purely Dimbag influenced....just his touch on that is amazing....... that's great !! Carrying the legacy.....that's awesome.....!!
the main riff reminds me of yesterday don't mean shit haha
sounded more like Zak Wilde influenced to me
Lmao! No.
Ah, my favorite Swedish metal band. Absolutely BADASS!!!
This first riff reminds so much of Pantera's "Yesterday don't mean shit". It's great
Marco's screams are so melodic and brutal in this chorus. Been a fan of The Haunted for a long time and i'm super pumped for this album. \m/
Chorus riff sounds a bit like Yesterday Don't Mean Shit - which is nice!
Or dream evil- the book of heavy metal main riff
I caught these guys live years ago at Ozzfest and have been a fan every since!!!
I am so happy about this. Love this chord progression whatever you call it.The haunted have nailed it. And in 2017 no less.
Glad this band is getting back to it's roots. now that is some Gothenberg metal done right
I havent felt this much energy in a band since Arch Enemy with Angela Gassow back in the Dehuminization days.
This sounds awesome. The Haunted has always been at the top of my list, with or without Dolving. From the very first album, they got me. 🔥🤘🏻🔥
mee too, i do like both of them in different ways, and through the years i still love the band, evrey band member is amazing!
Brutal stuff... love from Pakistan
Damn, if the rest of the record is anything like these singles, it's going to be pretty damn good!
Cupping the mic done right, badass! Killers riffs too!
Never really payed attention to any of that! Might be a stupid question, but why is his form of cupping the mic correct? Ive heard lots of arguments but never any real advice.

Finally get the chance to check these guys out after watching Ola's vids for a while now. You guys are heavy! Love it
Vocals omfg. Any band would love to be gifted with that. :)

That chorus is brutal!
Ola and the boys absolutely fkn crush man
Epic and energetic, cheers from Egypt \m/
Another person only here because Ola captured my interest from his TH-cam videos. I've had Made Me Do It in my iPod rotation for years, but The Haunted has never been a band I followed. That might change.
that solo was sick, the best part in the song

The instrumentals are so amazing, I wish the vocalist sang as well as screamed though.
It's been already 6 days since they posted this and it got just 79k views. :( The Haunted deserves more!
