The Haunted is great. They've been up there in my top metal bands for about 20 years now. 'Made Me Do It' is one of the most iconic melodic death metal records in my opinion.
I've heard these riffs from Ola for years and just now checking out this material and this is BADASS!!!!! Nice to see two At The Gates members in this band too.
Bloody hell... banger of a tune! Ola always downplays his ability to play lead...I think he's one of my favorite lead players as well a chugs...his leads are dripping with emotion... he's no slouch 🤘🖤😈
This might be my favourite mix for a metal song ever. Wouldn't be surprised if Ola did it because I'm feeling some Pantera tones, he loves him some Pants
Those guitars... and I build guitars! I just can't but look at those guitars when I play this video, even if my first reason to come back here is always this masterpiece of song. Too beautiful!!
I got to hear "The Haunted" only a few days ago and they have made it to my favorite band list with a lot of ease. Super talented bunch of musicians, the chemistry within the band looks pretty rad and cohesively inspirational. I think I'm going to order this album...man I'm in love already! \m/ \m/
Yah know, I just love what you guys do, how you do it too! There is literally nothing better than you guys making music the way you do! Please, never break up or quit! Some if us love and live with your music daily.
Interesting to note this official video is 1:10 shorter than the track on the album released this Friday. This track is 4:56 on the album. Doubt the 2nd chorus goes right into the solos on the album version.
I think it's safe to say I'm kind of the minority here. I always preferred Marco Aro over Peter Dolving but that's probably because my introduction to them was "One Kill Wonder" so naturally I was beyond stoked when he returned to the band. I only enjoyed one album with Peter Dolving and it was "The Dead Eye" record but with that said his voice has really grown on me over the years so I will probably explore the rest of his era in the band.
I did enjoy the first record Marko (Made me do It) was on so I'm going to check out the first record next. I totally respect your opinion but I still have found a lot records I enjoyed past the first two. It's still a win win for me honestly and I'm loving the new record.
Yeah, every one loves the brutality of "wonder". But they are two different bands with Peter and Marco. Peter is a "hardcore punk" singer. Marco sings death metal. Naturally the songwriting conformed around them with brilliant results on both occasions. The Haunted (1994) is still one of my favs. Revolver is great as well.
Walking the tightrope Between good and evil Like lambs to the slaughter Staring into their own abyss A war and a peace A flock and a shepherd The preachers of death Awaken the dead To a prison of belief Vicious methods justified Implanting the seeds of guilt Say farewell to flesh and blood Prepare for the sermon of lies The preachers of death Awaken the dead To a prison of belief The preachers of death Guilty as charged Awaken the dead To a prison of belief A war and a peace A flock and a shepherd
The reason is because you don't scream it, it is a style that sounds screaming but it is actually done at quiet volumes, you obviously know little about the style so I thought i'd tell you.
One of my new favorite bands my ears are ringing with joy thank you The Haunted really good vocals guitar base everything sounds like it's coming from seasoned vets.
This is fucking awesome and heavy! I like how The Haunted has changed themselves and experimented but have never sold the fuck out and still produce great stuff.
This song is absolutely fantastic. The video could have been so striking with this lyrical content and the dark feeling of the track, if only Century Media could be bothered to commission proper storyboarding and direction.
Happy too see good analyzing in the comments. It's a rare treat on TH-cam. Yeah it definitely has some The Haunted characteristics but Ola's riff writing shines through. But not necessarily in a bad way. Just needs more hooks.
Osmium Studios according to Ola, the Solar strat he plays on his current videos is a new prototype. I am guessing the same thing about Jensen's explorer. He plays with it on all three new The Haunted videos.
L'Oréal Paris
Bryan Patrick Music I'm not sure why this comment is so funny but it is. GG
Because you're worthless
notre dame
Not sure if it's an Ola Englund reference, but he did a l'oréal parody in one of his faq videos. Anyway, hilarious comment dude :-)
kkk Pode Crer .

Yeah dude
Yeah it sure is!
Brilliant opening riff!!! Sets the tone,,,,
now that's The Haunted I know and love!
Indeed
LOOVE THIS! That "The dead eye" vibe during the chorus (The Flood/The Fallout) is beautiful. It's awesome to get that melancholic element back!

My god the feelings on that solo
Too bad they cut out the outro solo on this video...
Good to see some of the former glory of The Haunted coming back...been lost since Unseen
Jimmy McGill Or even rEVOLVEr some would say
The Dead Eye is a masterpiece
Anthony Buono fucking amen to that
Uuhm. All three mentioned albums had vocals by Peter Dolving. The difference is huge, IMHO.
florden the Difference Was good
This might be my favourite mix for a metal song ever. Wouldn't be surprised if Ola did it because I'm feeling some Pantera tones, he loves him some Pants
If only you were watching him on live rn. This is exactly what he's playing. Lol
he dont mix the haunted albums. Mabye its his guitar tone. but he do not the final mix.
@@matttretter5728 it was Russ Russell who mixed it
I can actually hear Pant play this... 😭
Those guitars... and I build guitars! I just can't but look at those guitars when I play this video, even if my first reason to come back here is always this masterpiece of song. Too beautiful!!
Easily one of the best The Haunted songs.
Apart from the lyrics which are total ball bag
This band will always have our support since album one to now 🔥🔥🔥
I love Ola and I knew him before I listened to The Haunted and I gotta say there is so much talent in this band hot damn!
Whoa! Best mid-tempo song they ever did! Awesome!
"Shrouded in thick melancholy, and eager for the little casualties that bring death: thus do they wait, and clench their teeth."

The dead eye got me addicted, masterpieces

Zaebis muziki ebasut! Excellent! Moya skola!))))))))))))))
The vocals this monster belts out are nothing less than esophagal face-melting super-explosions! I'm gonna go ahead and approve. Well done gents
The Haunted still kicks ass!
what can i say? it's amazing i fell in love with the haunted
Interesting to note this official video is 1:10 shorter than the track on the album released this Friday. This track is 4:56 on the album. Doubt the 2nd chorus goes right into the solos on the album version.
new album is gonna be awesome
Really looking forward to that album. Great song.
Chorus guitar riffs are amazing af!

Dude, the first Haunted record absolutely owns everything.

rEVOLVEr is the best thing Dolving did with them besides the first album. This song sounds Dead Eye-ish imo.

You really should. You are me ten years ago lol
The chorus has a strong 'Made Me Do It' vibe, pretty cool
I fell in love with this song. Amazing Band.
This song sounds more ola englund style, so much better, the riffs have a lot of personality, power and the most important...feeling and soul.
OSCURA BAND and groove
i agree 000-000-000-000

I don't see how he can get through an entire tour with those vocals! The guitars and drums are absolutely killer!!!

what i love this band ! seen live in 2000 with Entombed , Uprising Tour
This is fucking awesome and heavy! I like how The Haunted has changed themselves and experimented but have never sold the fuck out and still produce great stuff.
Good to see the King Pin finally cleaned up his act and found a positive outlet.
Wow! What a great intro. The riffs are just brutal as hell!
Vocals sound killer

Showing strength 💪 voice strength
STREEEEENGTH! The strength of many to crush who might stop me!!!
Ola sportin' the KD shirt! This is a great track.....the chorus reminds me of Coroner covering the Beatles a lil bit
Love the guitar work!!!
Saul Goodman rocking it out on the drums!
The correct Steel, as well as in early albums. I support it unambiguously. In this song all on the places.
POWERFULL
Hail from turkey ! Best song out of the singles so farr \m/

It's actually quite impressive how well Bjørlers Corvette looks, considering the amount of playing it's gotten.
My... God...that...riff..is... HEAVY...!!!
Pretty good tune you fellers put together

Essen was awesome guys!
Happy too see good analyzing in the comments. It's a rare treat on TH-cam.

It's like Killswitch Engage and Arch Enemy had a baby together, this is good shit. Definitely going to check out more from this band.
The haunted kick ass always have
Who's that sexy blonde guy playing guitar?
Ola Englund of Feared, guitar blogger as well
Lol troll
How strong was the impact of 5 Minutes Alone videoclip more than 20 years ago, bands will keep doing the same shit forever!
Wicked awesome!!!!
Adrian is fucking KILLING IT RIGHT HERE
🔥🔥🔥
EXCELLENT....!
The haunted made me do it....
Reading comments about how fats the guys seems in the video makes me wonder : at which point a beer belly became a flaw in metal?
None of the cunts commenting on that would dare say that to his face.
I've seen them live, the guy is a giant, I don't think any of the idiots would have the balls to say anything to his face
when skinny jeans metalcore came in
@Frozen Yogurt it's all about those riffs man. Leastways it oughtta be!
Never bro. They are just young pussies who don't love the amber god.
Legit headbanging to this right now.
Is that a Washburn Explorer style guitar?
The other John Browne looks it, maybe his new brand?
I think that is new Solar explorer :)
Osmium Studios according to Ola, the Solar strat he plays on his current videos is a new prototype. I am guessing the same thing about Jensen's explorer. He plays with it on all three new The Haunted videos.
Yeah, I was just salivating over that thing! All fucking sick!!
its a solar, Olas own guitar brand... looking at this, I will have to get one
What a banger! \m/
Solar Explorer!! \m/.
Song kicks you in the nuts, and you crave more.🤘🤘🤘🤘
Tune! \m/
loving it
Great song! Bought the album. :)
Sehr Schon Musik Gruppe!!!! Hallo Fran Venezuela!
Awesome.
This sounds like a sick mix between Pantera, Meshuggah and At the Gates ! (which makes sense considering the different members of the band)
Awesome tune that riff sounds like a old slayer song
Sick riff
Pantera and Lamb of God had a love child.
That's what I thought hahah
The Haunted were before Lamb of God, though.
@@MadnessOpus wrong. lamb of god started in 94 as burn the priest and the haunted started in 96. lamb of god came first bud.
Boo! LOG fkn sucks!!!
