Well you make another crafting video Caz some of us already know beginners guide
Crafting mods guide wold be alot helpful
I’m going to be honest, your narration style has peaked my interest. I’ll check out your Patreon here in a bit. Keep up the great work. You’re doing great!

The guide was almost perfect but a single thing is missing. The production specialist role from Ideology gives +1 item quality on every craft, which makes it possible to get legendaries without an inspiration.
Wow i missed a fact. Theres a first for everything
@@Noobert Any punishment for your mistake to be conflicted upon yourself by yourself?
and plus vanilla traits expanded perfectionist trait
@@jesuscastillo7318 I think you mean inflicted.
@@Noobert I’ll cut you some slack since Ideology is still pretty new
Video idea: how to tor- punish the colonists that destroys 40 components because they didn't eat on a table
Put a heater in their room and disallow the door
Almost happened to me, I usually craft some maces out of a harmless material (wood, plastic from some mod) and gang up on the colonist that is tantruming. It leaves bruises and once by mistake I set out by best brawler that tore a colonist limb from limb before stopping but it's always fun to stop any mood negative events with a good beating.
Anesthetize them then beat the shit out them in melee. Doesn't prevent the action in the future but it's cathartic
Don’t worry guys it’s non-lethal
Pro tip: DONT leave volatile materials next to crafting stations unless you want disaster when your pawn goes nuts.
Lost 20k of value because Vladimir didnt have enough sleep.
fr why does chemfuel light when they punch it
Dammit Vladimir. Should’ve given him a mindscrew or smth temporarily as punishment
That's why I keep volatiles in a sandstone or other excess stone bunker. I won't cry when there's something wrong with my ships today.
@@KillerBot5100 he burmed to death and also got slowly intoxicated by smoke. I will turn his crispy remains into lavish meal later.
@@ExtremeMan10 very nice, you must be efficient and waste no resources on the rim. May I ask what detonated? It’s gotta be better than the nuclear reactor that went off on my Save Our Ship station. I was using modded resources to shield my reactor, so the explosion didn’t vaporize the ship (the one side that was open got annihilated tho), but I was in combat at the time, and was using my remaining batteries and heat sink capacity to evacuate colonists to the surface, then retract my boarding party back to the ship then to the surface. It was a remarkably successful evacuation, with only 5/25 colonists lost, plus two if you count boarding casualties. I attribute it to my tactical use of shields, by only shielding necessary components and turning off shields that weren’t needed. Scattering EVA suits also prevented deaths from decompression
have more than 1000+ hours in this game, but I still love to learn stuff, thanks you for your videos, they really help
Im happy me and my team can help :)
Would like to see a guide to inspiration in general. I find myself getting the inspired planting a lot with my pawns with 0-2 plant skill and I often wonder if it’s worth it to have them sow crops or ignore it and take the negative moodlet. Plus, sometimes I’m not entirely sure what certain ones do.
They referenced kenshi, I'm happy
04:00 Whoa, didn't know legendary items would give 500% Base price. No wonder when I do all legendary item run (for this I use Duck's insane skill mod, it basically allow you to go beyond 20 on your skills) it feels like my wealth skyrocketed way too fast lmao
Never heard of that mod, wonder how it'd work though? In universe it's explained lvl10 is olympic level, and 20 is the best in the universe.
@@BrunoMaricFromZagreb lol yup, after you passed level 20 in any skill it will only show you "Unknown" in there. The highest I've reached was 52 and that was with "Bonus Exp World Gain +500%" on the scenario settings.
Sadly this mod isn't compatible with rpg leveling up mod. You can still get exp but only when you kill someone. What I mean is it no longer gave you exp from doing daily job. You need to kill to gain exp.
@@sleepycate1368 Damn that's a crazy amoung of bonuses!Basically a must-have!But why would anyone download the RPG lvlup mod then?I never said I was gonna do it (mostly cause I have no money to spend on games, let alone Rimworld.)
@@BrunoMaricFromZagreb yup its crazy cuz with 500% bonus world learning rate and then you get raided even the enemy can have more than 20 in shooting and melee.
Oh and for the rpg leveling mod, you know how there's a RimMagic mod and RimHammer mod right? Maybe some other fantasy mods I forgot to mention. This rpg leveling mod is just like a cherry on top of the cream. To add extra flavor cuz you can make the battle harder for you or easier for you. Since you can make every enemy basically have 100 in Str, Dex, Agi, Con, Int, and Chr
@@sleepycate1368 Right, makes sense,I suppose if I actually had the chance to buy the game i'd give myself a mix.Make it harder with waste disposal, ammo neds and enemies, make it easier with lvl50 in shooting, make it easier with carrying 2 weapons and vanilla expanded.
Speaking of balance patches, deconstructing art only returns 50% of the materials now. Practice with wood instead of silver 😀
If you deconstruct it unfinished just before is finished, you will get the full xp and 90% to 100% of the materials.
Every time a new Noobert video comes out, the sun shines a little brighter
I'm surprised you didn't talked about mods. That's a pleasant surprise though. It's less confusing for new players looking for advice and tips.
There's also the inspiration psycast that allow to pump out inspirations at will. Unless i misheard and you mentionned it.
He did though.
I would like to add that creating stone block and crafting smoke leaf joints doesn't improve your crafting skill at all. So unless you desperately need these items fast (crafting skills affects production speed), don't bother assigning your best crafter for these jobs in hopes of increasing their crafting skill (or preventing skill lost if their skill is over 10).
Stone block job don't improve any skill but making joins improve cooking skill.
Something that I've had to hunt down that isn't the most obvious is that crafting stations work their bill-queue from the top-down, so that the top item in the list gets worked first, if it can be, and other items in the list only if the bills above them cannot be worked because of materials availability, pawn skill, or some other reason. So, it can be useful to know how you want to order your queues for what you're trying to accomplish: if you have, say, the Robots++ mod and want to build Cleaners, you can put the Cleaner Base Station at the top of the queue for your Fabricator, followed by the intermediate components in descending order, with base Components at the bottom. Thus, as your crafter builds two Components, they can build the next item in the queue, and on up, until they build the one Base Station that your other pawns can deploy.
If, however, you want to have a massive stockpile of basic components hot and ready before building the higher-tier components, flip the ordering of your bills, and your crafter won't build the higher-level components if your "Build until you have X" order for Components has any capacity that it needs filled.
Priorities are something that can have a big impact on your colony, especially as you get into items that have production-chains, but it's not terribly well explained in the base game or most crafting guides.
Now with a Craft Cheese sponsorship! So happy for you guys 😉
I see that you've improved your video crafting skills.
I've been playing RimWorld since A17. I thought I knew everything that would be in the video. I did know everything that was in the video. I never thought of cheesing skill gain by slowing people down. _Brilliant._
Thank you. Glitterworld-level advice.
One small tip that might be worthwile if you want to optimize production, place shelves with the raw materials next to your crafting pawns, they won´t waste a step to grab them, and that can save you some time. Used to be done with stools, but shelves still do that and with a bonus that they don´t make the room ugly.
IIRC, 1.3 reduced the raw resource recovery on disassembling items from 75% to 50%
Also any unfinished item can be cancelled, recovering raw resources invested in it (or at least a portion of it)
When you want to practice crafting, patch leather is your choice. And the rest of the leather types you mentioned should be turned into patch leather firs for additional practice and reduces storage clutter.
Also a useful crafting optimization trick is to limit the radius of searching for ingredients. This prevents your crafter from spending half a day running to the far end of the map for freshly mined steel. Instead they will wait till resources are delivered to the bench and then do the work.
For efficient crafting i recommended have workshop near your storage room
Alternatively, make your storage room the workshop
now this was a great video, super comprehensive and informative while still having humour and personality
Sheeesh, quality of this videos are so good to watch
Thank you for your great guides. A few days ago I started playing rimworld and your guides really helped me out! Hope you have a great week Noobert.
Thanks a bunch
Crafting skill does not influence things like cutting stone. They only depend on base crafting speed. Training crafting is best done with wooden plate Armor. If you are low on wood just scrap the production of the Armor before it finished and you can repeat it, as skill raise is gained by time spent for crafting. No need to finish it.
yeah when he said crafting armor to boost skill isn't worth it because of the value of the material used i paused the video and scrolled down to find this comment. not only does wooden plate use cheap material but it is arguably the fastest way to boost crafting skill period. i put a pawn with 4 crafting and 1 flame in a dark room with a roof tile removed from his work position making wooden plate and he leveled up SUPER fast. EDIT - it would have been even faster if i would have super-cooled the room but it was early game and i didn't have the components to build an AC, so i removed a roof tile instead. that way in winter the room cools naturally and then it stacks with the "outside" debuff.
you can cancel unfinished items by selecting them and pushing cancel, i believe its part of the base game
Yeah, it’s part of the base game. It also gives you roughly 90% of the materials back too
@@kenshinsaeteurn no components though
These videos are super comforting
a few tip:
Furniture construction only count the skill of finishing touch, so let the other pawns work on it and inspired pawn finish it
If a pawn have to leave the map/unconsious when an item is unfinished, that unfinished item will be discarded and another pawn will work on that bill if possible
Forcing mental break is risky, it may lead to pawn punching mortar shells and chemfuel
Clicking on an unfinished item will link it to the workbench it belong to, if it do not, that item is discarded and no one will work on it again
try building workbenches around tool cabinets for faster crafting speed
This was deluxe😋 love the way you edit your videos💯🔥
Thanks 💯
engie is life, engie is love. I got an engie with high aim and high crafting/construction and now she is my go-to raider-crafter.
You are such an underated channel
I love how quickly this turned into sweatshop tutorial
Production specialists from Ideology who have the perfectionist trait from Vanilla Expanded can construct and craft legendary items, a pawn with that trait and role with a high enough level can craft legendaries quite often. I take advantage of this ALL THE TIME.
Very helpful, thanks for your content
Another amazing guide, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
good timing i have just bought rimworls
Very nice video, thanks for your efforts :)
This is very detailed! (Bless the algorithm)
Thank you kindly!
Stonecutting is another good way for pawns to practice crafting, most bases can make use of stone blocks qns even if they can't you can sell them.
From my understanding, pawns do not get any experience from crafting stone blocks
Using the soviet weapons mod allows me to craft AKs, PKMs, and RPGs to equip my cannibal, nudists, chicken worshipers colony to win any battle plus mountain settlement= a lot of steel (56,000) and components
what materials do i want to asing to each crafter level?
(if you dont understand: i asing to parch leather clothing to a lvl0 crafter and rhino leather to lvl20 crafter)
Typing this comment on my phone, as my computer blew up when I subscribed to your channel! Great video!
Wow, thanks!
You are a legend
Good guide. Thanks

The better joke would have been "to cheese crafting, not kraft cheese" but hey... awesome video thanks for the tips :)
Welp , for stone cutting , i always make the area range to the stockpile so they not run to entire map to get stone chunks , so more efficient
Thank you noobert
Who remembers shoody and superior quality?? Do you feel old yet? 😂
Hey another awesome and helpful video! Thank you. Do you think you'd ever do one about how to install or operate a themed scenario, like Rim-Effect. And also perhaps how to create your own scenarios? Cheers!

Thank you wise great noobert for sharing your knowledge with us little cavemen / woman
Does an item/gear piece made with higher crafting skill lose duration slower? or function less dps, less armor, etc?
I like to task them with wooden plate armor. Cheap but yet time consuming
I see cat ears on noobert now and cannot unsee it
Also theres trait called tortured artist that give 50% chance to get inspired creativity after mental break thats one more way to reliable get legendarys
I saw Kenshi and got very happy
I wanna know how much of you guys build the starship ?
Is there a way to repair items, and specifically to repair gear?
Thanks.
one of my pawns was inspired by beeting and tourchering and killing slaves and made a legendary shelf thing
I finally figured it out. You sound like the narrator from battle block theater
thx
Noobert ur amazing
Thanks
I guess I should keep my "main crafter" as a non specialist for leveling and only give him the job when making my uniform and weapons? I actually wish they got experience based on work done and not time spent, seems counter intuitive.
You can game this by making your crafter work when they have food poisoning or lots of injuries. Uranium and jade clubs are good for low levels and making components good for higher levels. No quality concerns and never waste resources.
Yes
I think we need a trading guide
OMG I never thought about that with ascetics, time to make terrible sculptures!!
i think stonecutting used to not give any points, did it changed ?
Yes.
(9:01) Where did that ship image come from?

Can anybody tell me how to make wood hands I can't even though I have the supplies and the levels
What type of clothes is better to craft for sale?
Cotton dusters
Yes.
Nice, now do one for mechanoids
You should wear formal shirt and a cape to look more scary
Cool
It wouldn't be a rimworld video if it didn't suddenly take a dark turn at the end ...
Unlike he said, cotton is really useful for training crafting. In most biomes it's easy to farm in huge quantities, much more productive than hunting or even corpsehauling for bad leathers (usually found on small game). Letting them make corsets is fairly productive (dusters are strictly worse, as they use less labour and require 2 trips to get the ingredients, which might be in the next room).
When going with cannibalism in any form, there is of cause human leather, which is god-tier for selling value while being very much rubbish in terms of practical usefullness (so don't craft furniture or clothing worn by colonists from it).
Generally metal and even stone are much more limited and later time-consuming to produce, while being usefull in any number of ways. Textiles/clothing and drugs on the other hand are great to sell, in exchange for heaps of components* and stuff like plasteel.
* crafting a component takes somewhat close to producing a duster timewise. But on losing is fun a component still only costs about 50-60 silver, while a simple cloth duster can be sold for trice that. So basically running all over the map to mine steel (or smelt, or...) to then fabricate with is much less efficent compared to a trading and tradegoods oriented strategy.
Craft Harps to train up!
Harps are easy to research, made out of wood and sell for 80% base price. Average price per Harp is like 120 silver.
Is that in royalty dlc?

I’m having trouble with drafting pawns that are sign to a religious role
Enjoy your videoa
To train crafting skill I putted a pawn to make wooden clubs in crafting spot BUT because I did not want to fill my storage with unlimited amounts of clubs, I click the 'cancel' button on the unfinished club just before was finished. This trick also can be used in other skills. In constructing for example, I always order my builders to deconstruct stone doors of ruins, the door takes to much time to deconstructed, so the pawn gains more experiance and just before the door is deconstructed, I draft the pawn and I let it begin the process from the start. The amount of experiance is crazy! Unfortunatelly, in medical skill you cannot do that. You need to actually tend others because the experiance is gained after each tending and not during the process. The same with social.

One really annoying thing about descriptions of bills is that they aren't explicit about the relevant skills. The verbose descriptions inside the bill should have details like "Cooking skill determines crafting speed of smokeleaf joints." This is important information that should be included in the game instead of just hinted at by the Allowed Skill toggle. I wasted plenty of worker efficiency using intellectually-gifted pawns on something that only uses cooking as a determinant.
Just make bionics that improve surgery chance. Capture many prisoners, install the bionics, make them harvest each other's organs. Stonks
