Hi, thx for that great tuto. I have a question : on my V9X Pathfinder, i also have an oil leak on the intercooler but i wonder if that oil should be in the intercooler or if the turbo itself has a problem... How to solve that ?
It is very common to have a slight oil film in the boost air pipes. If it is not more than just a film, you're alright. If it is actual fluid dropping out of the intercooler then you probably have a turbo problem.
Awesome, it's a very nice engine. I could see oil coming out of the intercooler at the seams, as you can see in the video. In more serious cases you'll have loss of power, weird sounds and possibly even warning lights.
done that on my v9x pathfinder, seems those intercoolers are common problem on those engine types, seen cars on sale wich already have it replaced, i did this job at 150k/km-s so not really lasting part, New NRF one looked much better build quality :P
You’re welcome 👍 Do you Know the original brand of this intercooler piece, the one that come with the car when it was new? Actually I would like to replace the intercooler of my Nissan Navara D40 3.0L V6, but with the original one.
@@mamadoubarry4720 The original one comes from Nissan and fails frequently. Mine has had two Nissan intercoolers fail in the span of only 4 years so I would definitely not recommend it, also the Nissan one is much more expensive while an aftermarket one will last the life of the car. So I would recommend getting a fully welded aluminium unit instead.
@@mamadoubarry4720 I don't know what brand is the best one but the one I got was available at a good price and without months of waiting. The brand is DASIS, I think it is made in Europe somewhere.
@@Td5Adventures I saw later on in the video that you removed them when u where talking about the new gaskets. Are they expensive? I bought gasket material today and i am gonna change the intercooler tomorrow.
Thanks for the resource! I'm planning this exact same job on my Pathfinder tomorrow, so your timing is impeccable 🙂
That's awesome! Hope this helps😁
Good luck with your project!

Thanks, Exactly what I was searching for.
Awesome!! Glad the video might help!😁
Hey, nice job my radiator looks same as your old one. What brand of radiator you use?
Great guide - thank you. Maybe I missed it, but did you say hour many hours the intercooler swap took? Thanks
Tha ks for watching! I'd say somewhere 2,5-3,5 hours, first time 👌🏼
Did the engine light keep coming on with EGR Fault from intercooler leaking?
Good video. Just bought a new intercooler to replace with. Question. Was yours leaking oil,
Thanks for watching!
Yes, some oil was being pushed through the joints.
@Td5Adventures could you smell burning oil when you throttled hard? Have you done a video on radiator?
Great video, Thanks.
Would be even greater if you can add a link to the new intercooler also 🙂
Google it or eBay..👍
Very interesting! I just bought this V6. How do you recognise that you need to change the intercooler?

Where did you buy the gaskets for the intercooler?
@@alexanderhjelm1507 I got them from my local Nissan dealer👌🏼

Exactly! Mine had one done at 80.000km and then now again at 180.000km. But hopefully this was the last time!
Thanks that helps
Awesome! That's the goal with my videos. Thanks for watching!

Do you know the best brand to suggest me.

Thank you and thanks for watching!
Why put a brand new intercooler in?
If it's not leaking just flush and clean it out???👍👍👍
It was leaking as you could see in the video.
Did u forget to remove the yellow plugs? 😂
The yellow plugs?

@@helllsing84 they were like €10-15 each so not bad at all!
Worst engine ever made in history of engines .
The Ford/Land Rover 306DT Lion is worse
@Td5Adventures well this one they don't even sell any spare parts for the engine .
