    Excellent video explaining the relatively complex politics and diplomacy of this war. It is little known in the UK, probably because we did so poorly at it, unlike the more popularised seven years war. Keep up the great work!

    2:06 "GIVE BACK SILESIA" "Silesia once belonged to Prussia"
    This is inaccurate, Silesia wasn't a part of Prussia prior to the first Silesian war.

    • @jkdebate2665
      @jkdebate2665 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SXLSkyya The video stated that Silesia once belonged to Prussia, and that Prussia wanted it back, however Silesia didn't belong to Prussia until after the first Silesian war, so it is incorrect to say Prussia wanted it back. Before this Silesia was a part of Bohemia and before that it was independent, and before it was independent it was a part of Poland, but it only became a part of Prussia during the events of the video.

    • @anngarth
      @anngarth ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jkdebate2665 it was probably meant that a Brandenburgian lord had a right of succession to Silesia in case its previous lord's line died out, which it did. However, the province didn't go to Brandenburg as planned, but went somewhere else. Something like that, if I remember correctly.

    Dear Historia! I have seen most of you videos, all of them are great, and I really enjoy watching it as a history teacher wannabe but there is one big inconvenience in your videos. When you mention Hungarians you use traditional Romanian tricolor instead of hungarian ones ( 8:05 ) and this bothers me a lot especially for me who is from Hungary itself. The Hungarian tricolor is red-white-green. Sorry for being unpleasant. Keep going on with the videos because they are great!

    • @Mechanix.Illustrated
      @Mechanix.Illustrated  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the colors of the Principality of Transylvania. I read that at that time they were used as a symbol of the survival of the Hungarian statehood. sorry if i'm wrong

    • @norbikallai4844
      @norbikallai4844 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mechanix.Illustrated Yes, I also read about it, but I didn't attribute much interest to it. It was not until the 19th century that Hungarian national consciousness emerged. For example, in 1848, Budapest's Transylvanian tricolor became the basis of its flag until 2011, thus celebrating the fact that the union with Transylvania took place. I didn't want to stand out with this, but to show that I understand your logic and agree with it. However, I think that speaking to the masses who do not know this information can be misleading. These colors are compared to Romanian nationalism, and since Hungarian-Romanian relations are not the best, I am afraid that it may cause discomfort for people, not to mention that, mixed with today's colors, the lay video viewer may think that Romania and Hungary are similar even if it is the same. I don't want to tease you with this, as you deserve credit for these great animations and history lessons, but I thought it was important to mention.

    Charles VI should have put all that effort into the Imperial armies and fleet instead of relying on the kindness of strangers.
    Despite winning wars, the Habsburg armies seriously declined over his reign, even as his House’s territories were at record extent in the 1720s,with most of Italy under Habsburg control.

    After 1707 and the Act of Union, England was no longer an independent sovereign nation so it’s incorrect to say „England was at war…“ and you should have said „Britain was at war…“.
