This period is a virtual black hole on TH-cam. This needs to be addressed, so if Their Majesties would indulge us with more content we, their humble subjects, shall be forever grateful. Also we promise not to ferment any revolution and guillotine anybody.
Always thought the portrait of Maria Theresa was very beautiful o.o, she might have been the most beautiful female ruler since Middle Age all the way to modern times...
She looked a little bit worse after giving birth to 16 children. But she was a great empress and initiated many reforms in the empire. Unlike the warmongering Prussians she (and her son Joseph) actually helped improve the life of the people in Austria and Bohemia.
But weren't portraits altered (or improved) to make people more handsome than they really were ? Like an antique Photoshop, the painter would just cut out some defaults of their appearance ?
Please do more from this era! You have my attention and I would love to see more. I'm deeply interested in the Firearms Age of military conflicts. Another great episode!
Frideric II was a cautious commander. Not something that I admire in a man but it definitely worked for him. Great video as usual guys although I think you should change the "icon" symbolizing the villages because those look like turds to be honest.
I'm implying that he was cautious, not taking to big risks. What I meant is that I admire more aggressive commanders with "high-risk - high reward" type of mindset. I'm not saying that he was a bad commander though.
I would really like to see more documentaries of this era. (As i stated before in older comments) Almost no one makes great content about this era and i am learning a lot about the mechanics of war of this time period. It could be an good differential for this channel to focus a little on those battles.
Marching for a winter occupation, splitting two armies of numerical superiority while beating a retreat, and then a night river crossing...and winning. I don't know that I have the balls to do any of those. Guess that's why I'm not cut out to be a warrior king.
Not quite an ensemble like napoleon, but he had very good generals at his side, like his brother Heinrich (Who never lost a battle), General von Ziethen, General York, Fürst Leopold von Dessau (The old Dessauer), Curt Christoph von Schwerin and many more.

Unlike the others though, you also cover subjects before the 8th century BCE and after the 15th century ACE, of which I would love to see more!
Thank you very much! You will see more. :-)
+Omega Alpha That is precisely what happened to me: I started with Historia Civilis, too.
:-)
Just found your channel. Very good content!
Welcome aboard! :-)
Another fine battle documentary on my favourite of era's, keep it up
Thank you, will do!
Great video! I was wondering if you are planning to make a series about the weapons and tactics used in the time periods of your battles.
We are planning to, but it is very time-consuming. Hopefully, we will release the first episode soon.
I love this channel so much! thank you for this amazing work
Thank you very much for watching. :-)
Can You make a video about the Spanish Conquest of The Americas against the Aztecs and Mayans ... Cuz that would be very interesting:-)
Thinking about it!
awesome idea
it wouldnt be interesting, it would be a slaughter
Siege of Tenochtitlan in 1521 is extremely interesting.
Wonderful video. Please continue making videos about frederick the great and the wars of 17 and 18 centuries!!!
There will be more!
I can tell by watching a decent amount of this guys videos that he plays napoleon total war
more like empire
GoldPlum yeah
Not anymore. :-(
Kings and Generals what do you mean?
No time to play. :-)
My favourite channel, thank you!!!
Thanks for watching! :-)
This period is a virtual black hole on TH-cam. This needs to be addressed, so if Their Majesties would indulge us with more content we, their humble subjects, shall be forever grateful. Also we promise not to ferment any revolution and guillotine anybody.
No one is ever safe from the guillotine so we will work as hard as possible. :-) There will be more! :-)
I think this is mainly because most of the contemporary video footage was shot on Betamax and so was thrown away.
The art on those videos is trully amazing
Thank you very much!
Always thought the portrait of Maria Theresa was very beautiful o.o, she might have been the most beautiful female ruler since Middle Age all the way to modern times...
Yeah, I also noticed that.
Ehh, I never had a thing for royalty. I always preferred commoners. More down-to-Earth.
She looked a little bit worse after giving birth to 16 children. But she was a great empress and initiated many reforms in the empire. Unlike the warmongering Prussians she (and her son Joseph) actually helped improve the life of the people in Austria and Bohemia.
Not to creep you, but she was apparently 10 at the time of this portrait
But weren't portraits altered (or improved) to make people more handsome than they really were ?
Like an antique Photoshop, the painter would just cut out some defaults of their appearance ?
Please do more from this era! You have my attention and I would love to see more. I'm deeply interested in the Firearms Age of military conflicts. Another great episode!
Thanks! There will be more. In the meantime, watch our videos on the Napoleonic Wars.
@@KingsandGenerals Good to hear :) I am doing that currently!
I ❤️ ur videos
Thank you! :-)
Man you guys have really built an awesome channel! Congrats, I'll keep sharing you!
Thank you, good sir! :-)
Nice video
Thank you!
pretty nice to see this great general again, well done guys
Thank you!
Excellent
Thank you! :-)
This channel is gem.
Thank you very much!
Frideric II was a cautious commander. Not something that I admire in a man but it definitely worked for him. Great video as usual guys although I think you should change the "icon" symbolizing the villages because those look like turds to be honest.
Well, honor and glory were feudal mindsets. In this time period, dynasties were way more important. Fredrick was a smart man.
I'm not sure if we are thinking about the same thing. When did I mention anything about honor and glory?
Noted. :-)
Kamil Szadkowski cautious? You are implying he is a coward for leaving his army alone? Or maybe i got your comment wrong
I'm implying that he was cautious, not taking to big risks. What I meant is that I admire more aggressive commanders with "high-risk - high reward" type of mindset. I'm not saying that he was a bad commander though.
excellent unit cards, animations, ambient sound, and sound effects
Thank you! :-)
Please do something about the Battle of Tannenberg in 1914 or about the Battle of Berestechko (the largest battle of 17th century).
Khmelnytsky's Uprising is on our list. :-)
Kings and Generals Cool :)
I would really like to see more documentaries of this era. (As i stated before in older comments)
Almost no one makes great content about this era and i am learning a lot about the mechanics of war of this time period. It could be an good differential for this channel to focus a little on those battles.
Doing our best. :-)
Frederick the great really deserves his name.
Yes, one of the best generals in history!
biggest warmonger and racist is great?
I would love to see more on Frederick the Great's battles and adventures!
You will. :-)
Marching for a winter occupation, splitting two armies of numerical superiority while beating a retreat, and then a night river crossing...and winning.
I don't know that I have the balls to do any of those. Guess that's why I'm not cut out to be a warrior king.
I prefer our lifestyle. :-)
Thank you! We will have more viewers, it is a matter of time and work. :-)
Who are the generals and marshals of Fredrick the great?
The battle of Mollwitz was won by Schwerin. We will feature more generals of him. But he didn't have an ensemble like Napoleon.
Thanks for the info. Whenever I think of Great people I always think that he must have good comrades just like Napoleon and Alexander.
Not quite an ensemble like napoleon, but he had very good generals at his side, like his brother Heinrich (Who never lost a battle), General von Ziethen, General York, Fürst Leopold von Dessau (The old Dessauer), Curt Christoph von Schwerin and many more.
And Seydlitz of course.
I don't know who have a better generals and marshals Napoleon or Fredrick that's why ask who and will gain more knowledge. Thanks for the info.
Love how you keep on uploading video after video so quickly
Many sleepless nights. Thank you for watching :)
Don’t forget about Nader Shah! He was around during the 18th century.
I think about him all the time. :-)
Kings and Generals :D
Brilliant.....a full vid on Freddy - my favorite black clad steamroller.
Great vid chaps and well done.....even if I do miss old Nurrik's narrator accent ;-)
All the best for a brilliant 2018 my chums and keep it up
MORE FREDERICK!
Thank you very much! Glad to know that you are still watching!
Need more Prussia videos
And more you will get. :-)

Nice to see background history on the kings and why these wars happen. Great vid!
Thank you for watching :)
