      G'day Dan!! I'm in Brisbane and i do restos and resto-mods (mostly on Japanese motorcycles). That battery box you put in the swingarm... mate, is that something you made, or did you pick it up somewhere else? If you did indeed make it, are you planning on selling them, because thats the aort of thing I'd like for my XS400 Scrambler project (although might be a little too large for the battery). If sourced from elsewhere, could you please point me in the right direction? Also, in regards to your moldable plastic seat base, how is it for stapling seat upholstery to? Or does one need to rivet the fabric under it instead? Your peohects are epic, and this one is looking especially tidy. The Swingarm axle covers is genius! Cheers 🍻🤙🏼

      @@mrmcbeardy9268 Hey mate I don’t make the battery boxes to sell I’m sorry, if I had enough people interested in that sort of stuff I would do a small run of fabrication but most of the stuff is custom-made and a one off, just like those swing arm Caps. In regards to the multiple plastic seat base. I don’t use staples ever, I use the same contact adhesive that upholstery places use it is ridiculously strong. If you send me a personal message on Instagram I can send you the dimensions of this battery box so you can even make one yourself Or have one made 👍

      @@CafeRacerGarage Hey Dan! Cheers mate, I really appreciate your candour and your comradery 🙏Thanks, i shall indeed touch base on Insta. That must be some next level upholstery adhesive!?.. and I think i need it in my life 😄 Thanks for the reply mate. If you're ever in Brissy, first rounds on me 🍻

    Awesome!
    Regarding the chain guard... I like the idea of using the same colour as the engine. 😀👍

    Dan it's looking great, I would say bare looks good on the chai guard, but if your set on painting it I would go engine color to break things up a bit. But if it doesn't look right then black to match the frame. Looking forward to the new videos!!!!

    From all the way in Nova Scotia, Canada, I love your videos and I have an old CB750C that I will get back to someday and get running again.
    I got it tore down and COVID made getting parts a real pain, but once I get time and some new bearings I want to get the engine back together and start messing with the frame.
    Keep up the good work.

  • @scottdog182
    @scottdog182 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really great job Dan, she's coming along nicely, the finish on the frame and swing arm is rippa. Looking at all those bits you have to reassemble, can wait to see the final assembly part 3, 4, 5 hahaha. With the chain guard, bare or same colour as the engine would be my second choice. I know this has been a very long build but mate, it is definitely going to be a sweet looking ride when she's done. Do you think she'll be ready for the GC DGR?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey buddy thanks for the kind words, i’m not sure if it’ll be ready by then because I’ve actually started another project but one thing is for sure it is very close to finishing.
      It’s just that I need to put the time in to this particular bike to finish it off and I don’t like to rush things.
