CORRECTION HERMIT DRUID DOESN'T MILL. Fortunately, doesn't impact the deck we saw here. Which of these decks was your favorite? Is Sultai making a comeback? Let me know down below!
FIRST off i'm the top3 Akiri/Thrasios , My buddy and i were waiting for this video and you to be like Emrakul! had great time as this event. tons of very awesome decks that spiced up the pods. I noticed compared to other tournaments the average player is getting better a basic CEDH game actions and priority. I'm so happy you did a break down since the list were all over the place till a few days ago. Keep up great work friend! cedh needs you
Ayo, second place Zur here. Love the video! Also glad that you liked the deck and hoping that more people give old man Zur a go. I did end up taking out OoT, replacing it with counterbalance, it was just in there as an emergency board clear. Took out Lavinia as well, more harm than good, but what can you do besides live and learn lol.
Do you think 3 card combos are inefficient? As someone who's be on/off to cEDH, I find it fun and rewarding having extra infinite combos that win games as backups to the more "popular/standard" combos. And I'm always for more diversity and experimentation in metas
Its really contextual. Breach/LED/Brain Freeze is 3 cards, but Breach itself is so good at assembling the combo that it's worth even adding extra slots like Intuition and Sev Rec for it. A lot of creature decks also have overlapping combos that can be 3 or more cards, I think it's mainly about how strong the individual cards are and how much overlap you have among your combos.
I love Pull from Eternity as a card. I run it in a casual Sefris list, and i find pretty funny that if one of my pieces gets exiled, i can recover it and trigger my commander at the same time
The Korvold deck was so unique, I love it! Narset seemed interesting too with how many mill cantrips they ran seems like a fine line between spinning wheels and getting value. Awesome review!
I have a high power Urabrask list and it consistently overperforms. I keep waiting on it to see more play in cEDH. People totally underestimate the backside and proliferate effects. The amount of times I have heard in power 8/9 rooms on Spelltable that they have "one more turn" before they have to worry about Urabrask..and then I go off and win playing tutors from their graveyard. I don't think the deck needs more pingers, but styles differ. 😊
5:10 the pilot for the 15th place deck here, it was indeed a blue’s clues deck and the commanders were Will and Lucas. Unfortunately the website used by SCG to register doesn’t support friends forever or doctor companions as partner options yet and had to choose tnk for color identity.
Pretty sure the list posted for The Master is wrong too. At least Ian has a completely different list on his moxfield for the tournament@@LemorasCards
Yeah things are a little wonky, but the decks are cool and fun. It's gonna take more than a few tops to make me feel like Zur is number 1 or Razaketh is a major archetype like the old days.
@@LemorasCards oh for sure! Love seeing out of the box brews like my boi Urabrask! Good point. Just gotta see more data on these kinda decks. Though I always try to find excuses to play Razaketh
I think with all these midrangish almost casual looking lists breaking through sometimes now, it shows that having one super explosive turn midgame to break through all the grind is how to win in this meta
Narset player here! Thanks for posting this! Its great seeing my weekend live on beyond myself! My list was based off of FerventAlchemist's list with some personal tweaks.
Honestly I’m surprised that the tolerance for Proxies within the cEDH community specifically has been as strong as it has been. Blame Covid I guess. Thank you SCG for trying to stamp out proxie culture
At the rate the format is growing, I'm not even sure there are enough playable copies of some RL cards to support it. Timetwister being a staple specifically is pretty rough.
You make it sound like as if the proxy players are a minority within the "cEDH community". I hate to break it to you my guy, it is by far the majority. Covid's got nothing to do with. People have been proxying way before covid. Also, SCG's cEDH tournaments are the least popular by a large margin since they are not doing a great job TO-ing for the most part, whereas Topdeck's tournaments are way more popular-and proxy friendly. So nothing is getting stamped out...
@@shaman009 Trash take. Card prices are arbitrary. If you wanna believe a piece of cardboard costs more than a few cents, you need to get checked. "Own the card to cast the spell" LMFAO. Do you cry like this when you lose your games and then blame your opponents for using proxies?
23:35 Hermit does not actually mill since you reveal the cards before putting them in the grave. So you cant tap The Master to reanimate thassa. It still looks like a great commander with food chain or flickering him with a reanimated hullbreaker and mana rocks
@@LemorasCards I was disappointed to learn it doesn't work haha Keep up the great videos, it's awesome to get reviews from different type of tournament :)

I was just about to hop in the comments. I am a judge for a bunch of discords and I have been plagued by the question, "is Hermit Druid mill?"
Classic mistake, you should have not corrected your mistake so you get more engagement with people correcting you in the comments 😅
@@zeroisnine oh believe me they'll do it anyways. Most TH-cam comments are from not reading or not paying attention haha
Only conclusion, they saw ur boomer cards for outdated cedh video and all NEEDED to try to prove u wrong
Exactly

Thank you! Loved the list, been a really big fan of the experimental temur + decks lately.
Urabrask. Yes
Love the videos man, even though I totally disagree about unbanning Flash, hope you keep making them, thanks.
Thank you, I'll keep it up!

Thank you! Those swaps make sense, looking forward to seeing more Zur results this year.

Wait which commander is triggering off pull from eternity?

I play with Lemora on commanders nights for cedh and whip out the Urabrask on more Turbo like games

The Sultai decks showing up was cool to see. Good job, SCGCon.
I see my boy Gaddock Teeg didnt make the cut again! Dammit! ❤❤❤
Looks like you're just gonna have to top 16 with him!

This just feels very ironic with your previous episode 😂. Again these still feel very fringe compared to other decks in tournaments

Cool take on Korvold… like to see this card getting played with other sac outlets aside from dockside loops

Still no Treasure Series XI breakdown 😢😢😢
thanks for the video :)
Thanks for checking it out!
Where can we see the deck lists?
They're in the description.

That is why every card is priced different. Own the card to cast the spell.

As someone who owns their cedh list 100% real I’ve never been against proxies. This is just a weird out of touch take.
