26:39 the fellow on the left is named Junichiro Honda. He ended up becoming some vp of service or something similar. My grandfather was a manufacturing engineer and worked directly with him in the late 90s. I had dinner with the 2 of them when I was 11 or 12.

A bunch of them were going on a business tour of the east coast looking to set up some corporate entity there in addition to TMS in California. I was visiting my father (parents were divorced) in new York. Dad got a call from the old man and said to come to the city (about a 45 minute drive) and have dinner and meet business friends. I was excited because I had a hard on for all the Toyota sports cars and thought I might be able to see one. I was a stupid kid and had no idea about anything lol. We met them at Balthazar's. I think there was 5 or 6 of them including Junichiro and my grandfather. I think my grandfather was the only one who spoke English because he has to translate everything. It was interesting but boring for me. Anyway, that's it. They never opened the east coast office as far as I know.
@@alansmilealot Yes I have that. It's a 1986 model with some TRD parts from the dealership. I'm the second owner. My grandfather was the first. I also have a Camry and a rav4 that my wife drives. I guess we're pretty brand loyal. I also had a mark 3 supra a few years back but I sold it to make room.

I wonder if Toyota made an overhaul video for the 22RE or 2JZ, or any videos for those engines in particular. I get the impression that they just did this overhaul video for engines in general, with the 4AF selected as an example due to its simplicity. I have a '94 Xtracab pickup DLX (22RE, 4x4, 5 speed W56) and really enjoy OEM publications/media related to it.
Hi, I just need to know what is the correct NM when tightening 10mm cylinder head bolts on Toyota Corolla 1.6GL 16V 4AF engine(1991 model) using a torque wrench?
Breaking a bolt with a torque wrench samurai sword seems dangerous. Not cause the bolt breaking. but of the anger and wielding said sword. Wacking everything.

When I'm cruising at say 50km (30miles) or really any speed, when i lift my foot off the gas suddenly or even slowly it causes the motor to jerk once after like half a second and when foot goes back on it jerks but pretty much straight away when foot goes back on gas?? cheers
Are the 4af and 4afe heads the same also if the intake manifold bolt holes are the same i want to put a 4afe first gen head to a 4af engine block i want to convert my 88 corolla carb to efi any help would be appreciated
let me know how that goes I'm actually looking at doing the exact opposite to one of those motors to make it into a for a f because I don't want to go through the pain of changing it from carburetion to fuel injection

There bottom end is the same. There heads are a little different because the head on the ag was made by Yamaha. Same process though.

Artek Balbawang overhauling may restore lost power if the engine was worn enough.
