Yes, I agree whole heartedly with your summery; it is a flawless transition. I adore these movies and I'm teaching my grandchildren to love them too. I enjoyed picking out each interface and think you too did a very fine job.
The part where she says "it abandoned Gollum" and we see the ring fall. I think you should keep those original shots from Fellowship of the ring barreling down. They're really beautifully done.
I like this fan edit, it kinda feels a new extended edition of the begin of the film, Especially this part (2:58 - 4:08) Amazing Editing, it feels like this edited scene would have been in the actual film itself (but it isn't), plus it's also Accurate to the books Edit: I was Talking about how it use the "where do I begin" from Fellowship, and then cutting to "in a hole in the ground" from Unexpected and Finally to "concerning hobbit" from Fellowship again. Sorry if I didn't make that clear
Pfft I haven't seen The Hobbit since it was in theaters, so for a while this got me thinking like "wait is this the extra extended cut of fellowship orr" before realizing what it actually was
I'm sorry to the rest of The Hobbit, but the best thing those films gave us was these little extended bits with Ian Holm's Bilbo and Young Frodo. It just warms my heart getting a little extra peek at the beginning of Lord of the Rings and Frodo before the Ring of Power came to him.
Not gonna lie. Both Ian Holm and Elijah Wood are noticeably older in THE HOBBIT than they are in THE LORD OF THE RINGS, which results in the footage not matching very well. This whole video has a bit of a George Lucas feel to it.
Great transition from "where to begin? ah yes" to "in a hole in the ground..." Masterfully done.
Well done..this Is brilliant.Elijah Wood looks exactly the same in the fellowship and in the Hobbit.
Everything in the hobbit films look disgustingly airbrushed

This is great! Even forgot I was watching a fan edit in the middle.
Check out my new LOTR video!
Bravo!!!! Well done. They're both some of my favorite movies!!!!😁

I like what you did Andy Lyth. You fixed the opening.👍👍👍
@Ross Gowran i wish this part was in the movies!
History became legend... Legend became myth... Myth became history...
Utterly charming!
Ffs I was proper getting into that when it ended lol class job man!
Nice edit.
This is phenomenal. I might have to recruit you to compile all the films into one huge thing. 😂 I’m - only partially joking.
Jackson Such oh that would be awesome :)
@@AndyLyth you should do one with hobbit ending and lotr begging
Nice work, especially the fade at 8.09

Shire is beautifull.
SAMWISE HAVE YOUVE BEEN EVES DROPING? 5:09 and there I was trimming the hedges if you follow me?
Fits perfect! Only frodo changed a lot in my opinion xDD
7.43 at this view I can stare for long minutes :)
did anyone see that the cows and chickens were not over sized ! compared to how small a Hobbit really are ?
This is a fan edit? 😅
Martin freeman should have played young bilbo In lord of the rings and I wish this would happen in the lord of rings franchise
Rip Ian holm
Where did that other footage come from?
The footage comes from LOTR: FOTR and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Agreed. There’s only so much makeup and effects can do, and clearly it’s not enough here. But thematically it does go together nicely.
