Hi Taylor. How will you handle the SKU in the case of HelloCustom as they require to have the SKU? I am wondering if they do this immediately or you need to wait 24h for submission to printify. Thanks
Thank you so much for this video...all your videos! I'm a 65 year old Mimmie of 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. I'm 2 months into POD and really enjoying it. My struggle is ME! hahaha...I worked in technology all my life but since I've retired some of my confidence and skills have decreased. I LOVE how you explain things in a way I can understand them! Thank you for taking the time to help me....all of us! God Bless!
Thank you, Taylor. How about combo listing with multiple products from different print providers + personalization? I saw many sellers with listings that includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, long sleeves etc from babys to adults with different colors, with different print providers and with personalization. Thanks
I i’m so grateful that you set this up. I want to start off using customization because with the research I’ve done it blows everything else out of the water. However, I understand it’s going to be labor-intensive if I get a lot of orders. Wish there was an easy way to make this automatic lol. By the way, I’ve been on Etsy since 2012. I did not know anything about this print on demand business til recently. I’m blown away after I’ve done the research I’m in the wrong business so I’m moving into this. Wish me luck! By the way, I absolutely hate the new version on Etsy !
You should check out HelloCustom! I have a link in the description it automates personalization for you! Worth it if that will be your primary focus ☺️
I've watched several videos on how to do custom items between Etsy & Printify and this is the first time I finally got it! The others made it sound like you had to create it first in ETSY and then do a draft in Printify. Really confusing. Thanks so much!
I did the same thing with creating listings in Etsy and printify too but just a draft in printify should I be deleting all the drafts on printify? I have like 30 listings on Etsy and in printify 30 drafts one for each design!
Thank you for such a clear tutorial! I see tutorials, where they say click "draft" rather than "publish" in Printify for personalization. I am confused on that part, when do we click "draft" and when do we click "publish" for personalization? Also, would you please consider doing a tutorial on how to save our editable designs in Kittl and Canva? That would be so helpful. One last thing, do you pull down your opacity on your Kittl mockup design before downloading it for Etsy, like we do in Canva?
Thank you I’m new to POD and Etsy and this is what I was looking for eventually want to start selling bundles or couples shirts or whatever the group being selling his I will be going back and watching this again. This is very helpful. Thank you so much for explaining this so thoroughly.
How do you do t-shirts? that has adult shirt and a child shirt that are on same listing with all the sizes that can be customized? Is it the same process? Thanks
Thank you for this video! It worked great for my first product test. Then I had a customer purchase two items from my Etsy shop. One with a SKU and one without a SKU (needed customization). Turns out when this happens the one with a SKU comes over to Printify but the one without a SKU I had to manually enter that order for the customer. I contacted Printify and this is what they recommended. Have you ever had this issue?
Thank you so much Taylor! This makes this process so much easier. I was getting ready to create my first personalized product and was making it so much harder than it had to be. At 69 years old I am really into simple. Best Regards Ed
this was way better than alot of other videos i seen on personalized products. everyone always seems to skip a step... this answer a very simple question i had. good stuff
You make the BEST videos- thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. What would happen if a single customer ordered several sizes of a listing. For example, if it was a sweatshirt being customized, if they purchased three total... one size small, one size medium and one size large. Would that come through to other orders on one order? Or three orders? And would they all be shipped together since ordered together? Thanks!
Hi Taylor, I really like your videos, you explain things thoroughly. I do have a suggestion on improving the sound, maybe a mic that is closer to you? Currently, it makes your voice sound like it's far away from the mic. As for using the new version, at first I didn't like it but then I got used to it and now I only use the new version. 🙂
Thanks for a great tutorial on POD custom orders. I started my Etsy shop in November and have been so intimidated by doing custom orders, but I know I need to just do it! This is the best tutorial I've seen yet! PS...I like the old version on Etsy too. I've had another Etsy shop for 10 years and it's what I know! :)
hello! your video was very helpful! I just have one question, for custom orders, how do you know what to put for shipping weight and info if it is print on demand? I’ve been trying to figure out how to calculate shipping weight for so long with no luck 😕
Thanks for all your vids!! So helpful . I had a question, I recently had a customer that bought an automatic (non custom) shirt from Etsy as well as a personalized ornament. Would I have to manually do the shipping separately? Because it seems to have showed up as one order. Thanks for your help :)
Thanks Taylor, great information on customizations. I just added a few custom ornaments yesterday and got an order today! I didn’t know about the hack to remove the sku’s. Waiting to hear back from the customer on a design preference, but since I didn’t remove the sku’s (and will be manually submitting the order) I was going to upload the new file for the customer customizations then submit and once it’s processed then take the sku’s out for future orders. Thinking this will be a good workaround? I also like the old Etsy listing form! Loved your interview with Heather! 👏🏼👏🏼
@@TaylorPOD Just in time for my first custom order! You made it so easy! Do I have to do anything in Etsy like select the order and click "Complete"? I think I have to wait until it's dispatched by Printify.

Thank you for the great video! I recently started my Etsy shop, and I have a background in graphic design. Now, I have a question: Do you send an image of the custom order mock-up to a customer so they can see what the product will look like? Otherwise, some might say, 'Oh, this is not what I wanted.'
I do not unless the customer specifically requests it. It would be incredibly time consuming and delay production. I keep customization pretty basic so there really wouldn’t be any surprises to how something turned out. Also, thank you for being here and watching this video! 😊
Thank you for your response. I have another question. You suggested leaving the SKU blank. I'm selling sweaters with multiple color options, offering personalization as an option. Some customers might order without custom text. Do I need to keep SKUs for those who don't need custom text? Essentially, I'd like SKUs for customers without custom text to enable automated production. For those who want custom text, can I still manually process their orders with SKU?@@TaylorPOD
Thank you so much for your super clear tutorial! I’ve been winging my custom orders the last few weeks 😅 because different videos say different things, but I clearly understand your process! I really appreciate it 💕
It’s best to leave out SKUs entirely for personalized products if you have lots of different variations and just fulfill manually or integrate with a software like hello custom who will automate it for you.
@@TaylorPOD So if I've listed a sweater in several different colors .... Am I basically doing the same process as any other listing, but just deleting all of the sku's that automatically populate for each color/size variation (and of course adding the customization toggle with directions)? Will you see the chosen variation under the Printify "Other Orders" tab, along with the typed in names and date?

I'm curious whether orders without SKUs will be included in the automatic approval process if I continue to set order approval automatically once per day. @@Tawny593 I just would have the customer send the photo through Etsy messages! I would explain this process in the listing photos as well as in the personalization box so that they understand the entire process. :)
@@TaylorPOD Thank you.

I enjoy watching your content, but you might want to think about investing in a mic 🎤
Thanks for the tip! I do have a mic. I’m not sure how to set it up different for it to work better. I’ll do some research 😊
I’ve been doing pod for a month. I quickly found and followed you. I think because I’m so new the Etsy new version is easy for me.
Yay! That’s so exciting!! Glad you’re here.
