Hi Stephen, I wanted to request a video on pricing for POD selling. I'm relatively new to this and find it challenging to navigate free shipping, shipping guarantees, and the optimal pricing strategy. I did watch your t-shirt video and the $17.49 magic price recommendation, but I believe there's much more to learn about shipping pricing. Your insights would be greatly appreciated.
I find that a lot of pod content creators definitely lack good pricing videos. I watched a couple of them and they almost all were inaccurate because they lacked one to several fees to be correct. With the prices they sell most of them would loose profit, as for most pod products the profit is only a couple of dollars. So i agree, an accurate video on pricing (which also includes ad spent for example) would be helpful. With all my calculations there is no way some of the proposed selling prices would make a decent or any profit at all. Especially as almost all of them spend significant amounts on ads.
I'll add this to my list for videos to create. For ornaments, I would recommend a price of $11.63 (after sale) with a $6.99 + $2.00 additional item shipping fee. After ~10% in fees, ~13% TACoS, and Printify costs, this would result in ~$5 profit per unit. The $11.63 price point makes sure the shopper has to buy 4 units before getting $35 free shipping guarantee. I hope that helps!

I haven’t yet set up a printify account, and maybe this is my issue, but when I look at items and their cost I believe the ceramic ornament is near $5 by itself. Is that correct? Hi, I am a new shop and I already published 4 variants in etsy and want to have them in one listing. What do you recommend? Should I hide each one in printify and then create the listing with variants in etsy like you did or just leave the single listings up? Thank you for your helpful content!
This is great! Question... you made 4 listings with 4 options. Would you need to make 4 variations in hello custom to link for each listing or would the 4 variations you linked for the 1 listing work for the other 3 listings since there titled the same? Hopes that makes sense.
Hi Stephen. I’m trying to learn the process of listing personalized ornaments and ornaments with variations. My questions from this video are: you saved all four variations as drafts in Printify. Then in Etsy you published the first variation, then duplicated it three more times, did you publish all three of the duplicated variations? But never publish them in Printify? Is it the same process with one personalized ornament, that you don’t publish it in Printify just in Etsy?
I love ornaments, I sold them last year and they were a bop! I sold the heart-shaped ones awkward styles have.

On your 'Listing Images' video you demonstrate showing the variation images on the thumbnail image for best conversion rate, however you aren't recommending that in this process. Can you clarify the optimal approach on this because two pieces of advice are mildly contradictive. Thank you!
15:42, Keep color profile as RGB? Why, if you don't mind me asking? RGB is for digital images to show in the browser, while CMYK is strictly for printing purposes.
Hey Stephen, loving your videos. Question. I have generated some nice images through midjourney to put on some printify ornaments. I generated them with white backgrounds. Will these white backgrounds be printed onto the ornament? And if so what would be the simplest way of removing said white background. I’m assuming the one files you used of the penguins etc, all have transparent backgrounds.

If you are going to make an etsy shop mainly focusing on evergreen events to get started and make sales. BUT your long-term goal is to make a more specialty shop with a specific niche, would you use the storefront name that you want to use for the niche on your evergreen products? (Do you have one store front with both focuses, or two separate store fronts with company names to resemble what is sold in each store front)
Interestingly enough, one of the niches I was focusing on was on your list of top 10 niches: 1st Christmas as a wedded couple. And of course, Baby's 1st Christmas.

In my listing on Printify, I reduced the size of my design a little since the text was so a little past the bleed area. My worry is that when someone orders my Etsy listing and customizes on Hello Custom, will that resizing and positioning that I set in the Printify draft still be present like I set it? I'm worried that if Hello Custom cancels the original order and sends the new order to Printify with the personalization, will the design still be in the same position and size if I had to make it a bit smaller on Printify to start?
I have a few designs that I'm hoping I don't have to go back and redesign the text on to reduce its size. I was hoping the Printify size down is the quick fix, but I can't check that since I can only order a sample through Printify without the Hello Custom customization - and I don't want my customer to receive an ornament where the text and image are slightly too long and run off the edge. Can you help answer this question? Have you tested it? Is there a way we can order a sample through Hello Custom to check things like this?

how do you compete with shops that ship within 2 to 3 business days? I see with POD it can take like 2 weeks just for the product to be made. Just wondering if this discourages the buyer? Also, are ornaments over saturated?

Hi Stephen, from your at the time 21:23. When you selected item on Etsy then changed it to a different variation, the image on the left did not change to the variation you selected. Is there step to make that happen but did not show in your video? Please let me know, thanks and thank you for the video
Hello, I created a design for a sweater with design on back and front pocket. Then uploaded to Printify and Hello Custom for personalization of names on the front pocket. When the order came from Etsy, they way Hello Custom sent the design to Printify, it only showed the front pocket names design, but not the back. Can Hello Custom work on printings on front and back? or front or sleeve? or only works on one sided prints?

I listed an ornament that I thought looked really good. Got a sample from printify and I hate it. So blurry. Not just the art design but also the text which was super simple. I also did 5000x5000 but it didn't help. It's enough to make me stop making ornaments. I would have like to see a sample of the ornament you created.
Hi Stephen. I want to advertise a white sweatshirt, with 4 different design font colors. There are 8 sizes. This meant 32 SKU's. I had a variation for size and design, must i link each SKU to each design and variation? What is the best way to do this? (it seems to hard because a sweatshirt has sooo many different sizes)

Great question! This will be dependent on the provider that you choose, but those date ranges look safe.
How do you download the images from printify for your etsy listing?
2 Newbie questions...if you have a background color such as a solid, pattern or a gradient, do you just make your circle to the edges of the template on printify or do you have to have a bleed and make your circle larger? Also...does Hello Custom work with curved text and text with effects? Thank you in advance!

Great questions! I think adding a bleed would not hurt, better safe than sorry.
HelloCustom cannot currently personalize text with a curve effect. Text that is not meant to be personalized can be curved, but not the text meant to be changed by HelloCustom. We are currently building this feature and almost live.
Who much do you list your ornaments for from Printify?
The video's I have seen about doing these ornaments always has text/graphic on a transparent background. Can we have a background graphic or color that takes up the whole space with text/graphics on top of that? I am not seeing any rules against it but this is new to me.
Is there anyway you guys could do a tutorial for blankets, I have tried to do them several times but once my PDF is uploaded it will not edit. The pixels are very large for the blankets so I am curious if there is a Pixel limit and that is why it will not work.

I've given fulfillment a shot with both Merchize and Printwy suppliers. Right now, I've settled on Merchize as my go-to partner because they've been supporting me with tremendous enthusiasm, and their product pricing is on point. What's more, I can pitch in my product suggestions, and they're always eager to dive into research and cater to my needs.

Hi, I am trying to solve a problem. I uploaded a PDF and I am unable to tag the layer/element that needs to be personalized. I have received no response from customer support, and I need some help, especially since I am trying to launch a holiday promo and time is of the essence.
If I can't get a response then I will need to find another option besides Hello Custom.
If I make 4 niches, use one account or 4 accounts, will there be any disadvantages if they are all placed in one account?

Hello Stephen, I was following along on one of your other videos on how to personalize for Etsy and Printify and setting up mine at same time. A few things didn't happen. 1) I got error message when I tried to upload the PDF, it said my monitor wasn't wide enough to create template so I had to do the PNG. 2) the video said to remove background but my ornament has a red background as the lettering and the paw print are white so they didn't show up on Hello Custom screen so I had to guess as to where to put the text. 3) I used the Engagement font that was in the video but it wasn't showing anymore on hello custom and I didn't get the search slider font thing your showing here so I had to kinda guess as to a different font and then change it in printify. 4) when I get an order, if everything is correct, it goes to hello custom, you put in the name and date, then send it to printify so printify will ship it to customer and the background will be red ageain, is that correct?
I had the same problem. I was unable to get Hello Custom to take any download at all PNG or PDF. At a loss here.

Hello Stephen, would be nice if you can explain how to compete in price, just opened my first shop three months ago and still running with price problems. For me to sell a sweatshirt and get $4 net not gross I need to sell it at $32 and charge $6.5 for shipping but there are some of best sellers in Etsy selling sweatshirts at $20 and offering free shipping.

I'm trying for the first time I'm in Hello Custom, I only want to change name and I did it separately in canva but HC combined and when I go to publish it says only text can be tagged which I thought was what I did, any ideas where I'm messing up?

If your current designs would not conflict with ornament designs, I would just add to your current shop. With Etsy suspending new accounts so often currently, I would not risk it being this late into the season.
if I change the size of the PNG/PDF from my prinify to my hello customs accounts will it mess up the print? the PNG's I made need to be shrunk down a little to fit the ornament size, so do they need to be shrunk down to the exact same size when I made my hello custom template?
Great question! HelloCustom will match the placement and any shrinking of the graphic when you place the PNG on the Printify product. So, you are good.
