I am enjoying your videos. How many miles do you get from a litre or gallon of petrol on your boat? Has 30hp always been enough power if the conditions get rough?
Another good video, do you have any comments on petrol/gas. EG I believe that you cannot rely on gas to last too long these days because of ethanol addition, do you use any additives etc?
antaron6 - You are absolutely right. Petrol goes a bit snotty and will clog your engine if you leave old fuel in there too long. I don’t mix and additives in with it, I just make sure if I know I’m not fishing for more than a month I try and run the tanks and carb dry. 👍🏻
My 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke Has the same controls. Just bought it second hand and ya told me what does what. I haven't taken off the old Evinrude two lever controls off yet coz still cleaning boat and stuff.
Hello I have a a 2004 Yamaha two-stroke 150 I start the engine with no problem the engine run fine no problem but when I turn the engine off and after 2 or 3 hours I try to turn the engine but crank and won’t start. It starts after a while Do you have any troubleshooting videos for this?
Thanks for the instructions man. I have a question: When I unpluggen the fuel cable from the motor the ball fell out, I could put everything together with some fiddling, but is that supposed to happen?
that's the most DUMMEST question you ever ask and yeah if you pull your fuel line from your motor its going to run out of gas because the fuel line is NOT connected to the motor
Sounds like the "O" ring that holds the ball bearing has come lose. Just buy a new fuel line or you could purchase a new fuel line connector and replace the old one. l wouldn't fiddle and try to fix it. The last thing you want is trying to start your engine in the middle of the ocean and nothing happens.
@@donnaperyginathome If you put an outboard into gear slowly (one that is cable driven and not electric) the teeth in the lower unit grind together as your putting it into gear way to slow and the motor is already turning fast. Outboard lower units are designed to be quickly shifted into gear so a bit of speed wont hurt. If you go too slow the teeth could break, wear and cause some serious issues.

You could use non ethanol fuel if your local gas station has it, it’s more expensive but better for the engine

Its not warm anymore..... Leaving it for a couple hours lets it cool down.

You don’t want the engine all the way down while driving.
- That depends entirely on the shape of hull and type of boat. And you absolutely want the engine all the way down when starting.
distantsunset i mean all the way like so it’s not straight up. Like it’s pitching backward.
You don’t want too much pitch as the stern will dig in you will actually go faster when you are planning flat.
You should never go as gentle as that when you are putting it into forward or reverse ! You will destroy your gearbox
