I grew up in South Florida and I just got into boating and bought and restored a 12ft Jon boat and I put a 5hp Mercury outboard on it. I am mostly in small water areas like lakes and rivers not in the open ocean like you both are but I have taken away alot of knowledge watching your videos. Thanks for what you do!

This is awesome information! I am not a boat owner (YET!) but I have been trying to learn as much as I can before getting one. You ladies have such a great way of explaining things that many people cannot do well. All of your information is simple to understand and you go straight to the point. Whoever you learned from taught you both so well. Very cool to see you ladies taking over!

You all are amazing. I've watched so many of your videos in the past few weeks. After many years of wanting a boat I am finally pulling the trigger on a Key West 189. I have to admit your videos, and the knowledged I have gained, made the decision to purchase a little more easier. Thank you and keep up the amazing content!

Just recently purchased a new boat with digital readings. Good to know about the battery amps needing to be at 12/13% and being able to see that on screen. Especially coming off a much older boat and not having that information. Thank you.

I'm learning so much. you guys are legit. Big props from an australian fisheman. you guys know your stuff and relay it so damned well. keep doing what you do!!! I have paid for courses on barramundi (think snook), foragers like snapper or maybe redfish in your part. You guys have a natural affinity for coaching and conveying information. love it.

Haha just yesterday I took her a little to far on less than an ideal amount of fuel. With it being slightly chopped.. I believe that added to the problem and my engine shook a little. Once I started moving and a little bow up or on plane, I had enough fuel to keep her running to the dock. Lesson learned!!!

So glad that TH-cam decided to recommend your channel to me.
Awesome content. The best fishing channel I've come across recently. Great balance of tips and entertainment without the ubiquitous click bait or bikinis.
And that you're twins somehow doubles the pleasure and fun. (Sorry, you have to be a certain age to get that last reference) 😊
No doubt you'll get to your million subscribers before too long!

Great advice for any boater. The neutral position happened to me not long ago. Pulled up on a spot so excited to cast I forgot to put it in neutral before I turned it off! 😂. When I sat back down to leave it wouldn’t start. Noticed it pretty quick but still a very good point!

I watched a video that you all did three years ago on trolling with a planer. I mostly bayfish but I want to learn more about trolling offshore, Are the double-sided Marlin swivel all the same size or is there a particular size that you use? And also, what tackle shop would you recommend to purchase the tackle that you showed in the video?Thank you

Where did you get the kill switch lanyard from? Mine Isa short coiled one and every time I look behind the boat it pulls out. All I have found so far are more coiled ones. Having one that isn't coiled would be great.

Ah, that #2 ... couldn't start the engine, wind blew me sideways and hit a pointy rock, got a hole, struggled to put the boat back on the trailer, got home and realized that the throttle was just a tad out of neutral. I'll remember to check that neutral position for the rest of my boating life.

It’s always smart to check all of this points before leaving home, specially that your batteries are fully charge.

Another thing to check and have extras is your spark plugs i always bring extras just in case. And another thing more in 2 strokes its the plug for the key switch sometimes it will vibrate apart and then you dont have power on your key

    Check fuse.
Check for water in the fuel/water separator.
If you have a boat that uses a portable fuel tank - make sure the breather isn't screwed down tight - the most common issue for inert tinny-pilots.

  • @rtbinc2273

Every time I see those 300s I just look at them and read MOO! So you got those fancy MOO engines. Aquaholic pointed that out.

Also every boat should have a spare kill switch on board if the captain is thrown out wearing it anyone else on board cant restart the boat to get back to them without one.

  • @drob5664
    @drob5664 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, I learned the hard way about the kill switch early one morning. For 30 minutes I was checking for the problem while wearing my vest with the lanyard dangling and slapping me in the legs. Embarrassing.

I disagree- the power boating videos are informative and filling a gap on TH-cam. There are plenty of sailing channels, but not many power boat channels focused on tips and how tos

How come at one point, one of you had an engagement ring on and no longer do? Did it not work out or was it a business decision to take it off. Just wondering.
    Thanks for the awesome videos!
