I would love to see a run where you start with PhD and all item pedestals are replaced with mom's coin purse. Making it the anti-sinvicta run.

he would also need false PhD along with it, it can give damage and PhD can give other stats to sacrifice.
Issue with that will be 0 damage up and max tie rate so won't be that fun to watch we seen many episodes of simual situation like that nest idea though but won't have the damage

The reason why stigmata was replaced is because the mod replaces the item pool, so even though it’s in the angel pool, it was spawned under the pretense of the treasure item pool, so it got changed anyways. Also we need that redo, mosh pit get to it!

I feel like there’s no need for a redo.
My reasoning is that Devil deals have a much wider pool and a lot worse items, so it was bound to happen. Whereas the Angel pool is a lot smaller comparatively, meaning it’s a bit more predictable and reliable as to the knowing the kinds of items you’ll get. So I don’t think it is necessary, but it could be redone.
I love both pools so much but I would say that Angel deals come out on top. Sure brimstone, new athame, maw of the void and a few others are strong, but then there’s revelation, salvation, sacred heart, godhead, stairway and you could even make a case for Holy Water and Seraphim being good as well. On top of that, Book of Virtues and Act of Contrition let you take both devil and Angel deals, whereas in Devil pools it’s only Duality, which is also in the angel pool

I put my vote in for the devil deal re-do! I’ve had plenty of runs with that kind of item pool and I think it was a fair run, but taking all of the extra items will give it a more fair chance in catching up to this week
I think one thing that could help Team Devil is Sanguine Bond. It doesn't just generate more items, but it can also give you a base damage up. Using it at every opportunity could give the Devil run a huge boost.

I think you should do an all items are sissy run
I'm predicting angel deals going smoother. Post-Repentance I've really sworn by them. No risk but really incredible rewards coupled with being able to find alternative ways of nabbing devil items anyway. It'd be cool to see a rematch, or maybe a duality one where each floor you alternate between devil and angel deals each floor and see how they interact with each other.

Another comparison please, and I loved this run, I wish we could get more angel and devil deals (only) more often. The angel only runs is especially interesting to watch because it’s very uncommon to only get angel items, but it can be more common for devil items
Eye of the Beholder:
Starting items: Bloodshot eye 3x, Transcendence.
I don’t think excluding items is necessary~ but there should probably be a focus on lasers, beams, tear effects and eyeballs to make it feel like a proper beholder.
Maybe we can get a mix of angel and devil items together for next week

The "Crown of Light", "Angelic Prism", "God Head", & "The Wafer" Are my favorite from the angel room. I do play as Forgotten a lot.

@@darrylmoise8127 As I said before I do play Forgotten alot. So the sacred heart doesnt fully benefit me. The Crown helps me more for survival and a Dmg buff. I do like Sacred Heart just not for my melee fun of forgotten

One of the coolest synergies I have seen in Isaac is the "Spirit Sword" and one of the "Tech" items......I think it's the one that shoots the circles out. When you have both it turns the sword into a lightsaber and it blew my mind when I saw it the other day. Seriously though thanks for all the content because no matter how frustrated I get playing Isaac, the moment I watch one of your vids I go back and get at least one more thing I needed to "complete" the game. I'll get that Godhead one of these years lol.

I think angel deals will always be better then devil deals purely because of how inconvenient they are to get. Having to skip a 2nd floor devil deal to get a 33% chance at an angel deal next floor feels bad a lot of the time.

I know I’m late, but if you somehow read this Mr. Victa, if you get the weird cycling items with da rules, you can make use tags with da rules to make specific pedestals reroll and not others
ex:
All items except quest items (not tagged with [tag name])
gets replaced with
Angel Room items (tagged with [tag name])
you can also do:
on run start
remove The D6
you could save these settings as a preset for ez item pool challenges

I personally tend to go with Angel deals more often. While devil deals have a lot of mediocre items and non-worth it items, Angel deals are almost 100% of the time, a really strong item. Angel deals also don't cost you hearts, which is a bonus.

The way i see it the angel deal has more meaningful attack items for the most part, while the devid deal has way more utility like contract from below, too spooky, and damocles

angel items tend to synergise AMAZINGLY with one another(unlike devil deals) if sin had trisagon over spirit sword, the run would have been 10x stronger since its the last missing sinergy piece
Not sure if you did one but could do all items are secret room items and you don't have to take the items if you don't want.
Devil deal might have thought it was a friendly competition but angel deal came out swinging.

i think devil deals can bring you up to 40 damage, but you wont have that kind of tear rate
You should give yourself 6 red hearts for the next devil run. That way you have ability to get multiple devil deals at start of run/ or give yourself goats head to ensure devil deals
Play Jacob And Esau. Jacob gets only angel deal items, Esau gets only devil deal items.

With maxed-out money equals power buff it looks like about +15 damage from devil pool items. Plus there are things like lusty blood/bloody lust that give a short term boost.

It makes sense this run is a lot more powerful than all item devil deals. Even without sacred orb, the per item quality of angel items are in my opinion higher than devil items, as in a normal run, you get angel room less frequently and once you get it you can only get 1 choice instead of 2-4 selections from a devil room to balance their per item quality

In two runs with either only Devil items or only Angel items? Fairly confident that Angel will be consistently stronger and “better” by most terms.
In a regular Isaac run, Angel items by design have items with a higher strength ceiling because the conditions to acquire them are more difficult than Devil items. For example, in a typical run, Devil items are accessible starting at Floor 2 with a 100% chance versus where Angel items are accessible starting at Floor 3 with a 33% chance. Furthermore, even when meeting the more difficult conditions, you are only allowed to take one Angel item whereas multiple Devil items can be taken (not factoring in the health cost).
Comparing this to the All Devil items vs. All Angel items scenario, the more difficult conditions required to get Angel items in a typical run have been practically removed. Thus, this is a competition of quantity and quality of items that can be found in these runs.
In terms of quality, Angel room items by design are allowed to have a higher ceiling due to the more demanding conditions required to obtain them. Intuitively we know this because some of the declared “best items” are more often Angel items than Devil items.
Furthermore, the smaller quantity of Angel items also benefits Angel items in this comparison, as we are able to access the strongest Angel items in the pool earlier and more consistently than we are to than we are for Devil items.
So, in comparing the Angel items vs. Devil items run, your average run is going to consistently favor Angel items for being more fluid in runs.
I do not believe there is a real discussion of whether which run succeeds more as both by their nature will be strong runs. Neither is this a discussion of which is more fun as that’s up to subjective preference. What I do believe this is a discussion of is which pool of items, Angel vs. Devil, can consistently finish runs faster than the other. I think I laid out a compelling argument and I wish I had more friends so I wouldn’t type out TH-cam comment essays.
Next wakey Wednesday after the redo devil deal run should be first run angel items, victory lap should be all devil deals then taken down the alt path
