39. Cancer: you missed the part where it breaks the tear cap beign even more valuable than curved horn in the late game since your DPS Will likely be Better with cancer than with curved horn.
As an Isaac veteran the horn vs cancer was a huge discussion in the community since wrath of the lamb
It got changed in Repentance, I checked the wiki. Unfortunate but it got nerfed and now it's +1.0 fire rate sadly.

@@newto2794 Unfortunately yeah, they changed it from -2 tear delay to +1.0 tears. I was shocked myself and also thought it still breaks the cap but I just checked it today and I feel like my existence is a lie. XD
@@newto2794 Wait mb they changed how breaking the cap works and now pluses to fire rate (not tears) break the cap. It now breaks the cap by one instead of two. Sorry for being an idiot. Don't know why Ed changed it but yeah it's weird.
I'm pretty sure it's because the cap is now higher, I had a break from Isaac and just recently got into Repentance, sorry for being a bozo.

About “Equality!”
You get your pickups to all be equal… and then you clear the whole floor without picking up any more stuff. And then you go pick it all up at once, now that it’s all doubled.
It’s saved more than one of my runs before. It just requires a lot of fudging and minmaxing to get it to work for you.
I wanted to say the same thing! In my opinion it is pretty good early game but quickly becomes more useless as the game progreses
it's busted with tainted keeper, I haven't used it on greed mode but I'm guessing it's great there too, also good early game
I always thought that the moment your pickup number changes from the equal one, all of the doubled pickups revert to their base versions :O
I've managed to do this once in like, 1500 hours of play but the one time I did it saved the run lol. Went from worst trinket NA to being pretty cool and good, even if it is HIIIIGHLY situational.

Yeah honestly this video starts off with bs right away. How tf is Swallowed Penny worse than Petrified Poop? Sure you don't want to take damage and should always imply a perfect player when ranking stuff... But how many high poop seeds are there actually? Chances are you get Petrified Poop in Basement and maybe two coins from the five poops you encounter. And then never encounter much poop ever again except for red poop in Super Secret Rooms/Womb. Card against humanity is very rare you can't bet on getting it.
Swallowed Penny, there are plenty of instances where taking damage is still worth it, like Blood Donation Machines, chests/pickups behind spikes...you can allow yourself to get hit to make it for a Shop Item...Swallowed Penny is good you can turn your spare hearts into coin and ensure your shop buy every floor.
Petrified Poop only really works with other Poop synergy items. Otherwise weak trinket.

@@anzorunono4967 You can break the game with Infinite Stores, IV bag, high luck and enough pickup spawn items like Swallowed Penny, Piggy Bank, Habit, Dark bum, Bum friend, Bumbo, etc. If you get Soul Converter and Potaoe Peeler you can make infinite Super Meat Boys.
The on-damage spawn pickups stuff is all completely broken and can so easily be exploited with cheap store item builds that you just shouldn't underrate them.

Petrified poop is better for every character either by giving soul hearts, hearts and money. Idk man, I love swallowed penny but not every time

You want to avoid damage from enemies, but there are plenty of instances where you can trade self-damage for value, and unless you are going for Hush/Boss Rush you should do so every time. Always trade in your spare Red Hearts from the map to the Blood Donation Machine, Devil Beggars or Curse Rooms, then there are Items like Piggy Bank or Habit that synergyze incredible well.
Blood Donation Machine is particularly broken and gives you tons of cheap HP ups that you can then trade in for Devil Deals.
Habit+Schoolbag+IV Bag+Converter+Infinite Stores+Chaos+Potatoe Peeler and enough Luck is infinite Money+Infinite Hearts and INFINITE ITEMS and INFINITE SUPER MEAT BOYS...with a store item combo. Had a Cain run lately where I broke the game, then accidentally fell down an Ehwaz traphole and finished with no Completion Mark due to not getting Polaroid/Negative.
Sorry but you just didn't seem to have realized the way to play this game. Swallowed Penny is top tier trinket for any character except The Lost and Judas before he gets an HP up.
#107 "Crow Heart"
You are not forced to hold this trinket. You can just drop it, full clear, pick it up and use on curse room without hurting your soul hearts or sacrifice room which might turn all of red hearts on the floor into an angel item potentialy. It is not much but definitely not completly useless
Its also very useful for the forgotten or with bone hearts in general since you don't need to worry about losing your devil chance with bone hearts.
S*** I never considered just hauling a double edged trinket between floors and dropping it while I actually did the floor. That's such a good idea
Swallow penny ranking is criminal, that shit is op af. It always drops a coin, and that coin can be dime or nickel and sometimes a lucky penny. When you get an arcade you can basically grantee you pay out all the machine and beggers. Not to mention d20 game breaks that are some times possible.
Although i agreed it useless late game, but early and mid game basically a free win if you use it right.
Swallowed Penny isnt op. I dont see how you'd get a full arcade pay out with just Swallowed Penny (besides maybe a blood donation bank (which Blood Donation Banks are op af, I will give you that). Breaking the game with d20 is free and definetly doesnt require swallowed penny just d20 plus anything that drops pick-ups does the trick.
As a vehement hater of Mom's toenail, I have one small defense of it.
If you use it with gnawed leaf, you could afk most rooms/bosses, granted, it'll take an eternity, but if it's golden or if you have mom's box it becomes decently better.
Combine this with even a weak orbital and you might just have yourself a run winner
That is an actuall good use well done.
I literally use this item to fight bosses all the time, I was so confused when he called it useless because I always watch the timer and time when the foot it coming down especially early game, I count it as a quick boss killer everytime I see it early

Cain's eye is really good though, it scales with luck so at 3 luck it has a 100% chance of occuring if I recall correctly.
So nat 1% on 0 luck or is it just a high chance that's basically a coin flip on giving you room locations?
@@Octo_0687Starts with 25% at 0 luck and adds an additional 25% per point of luck, so 50% at 1 luck, 75% at 2, and 100% at 3.
@@Rockoll Ah, at first I thought every extra luck would add 33% to the chance of having Cain's Other Eye procing and showing riom locations.
I remember picking up expansion pack and when i used the d6 to reroll a boss item i ended up getting metronome which in turn used the d100 effect which made me want to sacrifice room IRL, have not picked it up since.
i don't think expansion pack can proc the d100 effect though, from what I looked into it only uses active items that have 2 charges or less buuuuuuut I may have read it incorrectly 🤔
@@AnotherMattPlayingIsaac yeah when it rerolled my items I was astonished and started to look into it. Apparently the only way for this to happen is from a use of metronome as I found a couple instances of people using a item with expansion pack and it activating metronome which then uses other items like death certificate or in my case d100.

An important note for door stop is that if you are playing the lost, or you just luckily got holy mantle, you can use it to leave a room upon getting hit to basically retry the room without death looming over you
You really should have added a "sucks, but synergy" tier.
Broken Teleport can be pretty amazing with the right active item.
And I also had runs where stuff like Whip Worm has actually been really useful.
Looking for this; Broken remote + any no charge item (which there are a good deal of) = infinite teleports!
This means you can escape dangerous situations, get in and out of any locked room for free, and even skip to the end of every floor with just a few clicks.
I can say that Ouroboros worm has niche use on Azazel, as it's basically just free regular Brimstone that's only slightly harder to hit
Butter can be used to get more items from whatever item pool you want if you manage to find a reroll machine in said room (or if you place one with that one repentance card). Using the item will drop it, then you can reroll until you have something better. Super niche item usage, but game breaking potential.
Reverse Judgement I believe
I think overall this list is really good but broken remote can force you to go into any room with no error room chance if you're using an infinite use active item. This includes secret rooms, shops, treasure rooms, planetariums, libraries, bedrooms, secret rooms, challenge rooms, and there's probably more im forgetting. It also allows itself to be used as a panic option for the lost, as on teleport your mantle will recharge.

filigree feather is not useless in late game, there are quite a few ways you can fight an angel after not being able to get angel deals organically
That requires luck, you'd need a sacrificial room, a dark chest or a joker card, so you might as well replace it when a better option becomes available

bob's bladder is actually surprisingly good early-mid game imo, the puddle of creep does INSANE dps (way more than the bomb itself) so if you push it into a boss that moves and the boss walks onto it it'll basically instantly kill them. its not too hard to use on a lot of bosses and i've been carried by it a few times. (i do have 2500 hours in the game. you got me)

Good list. Overlooked the power of dropping trinkets in the first room of a floor and only picking it up when you need it.
This makes a lot of situational trinkets good, for ex the cursed trinkets
Cursed skull had one utility in AB+, where you could use it as a safety net for Keeper since he had only 2 coin hearts to give you a chance to heal with a coin you left behind. Now it's completely useless.
Crow Heart can be very useful. If you find it as the forgotten. Then it causes any damage to use up the red hearts and not your Bone Hearts. So you only loose the bone hearts after all red hearts and greatly reduce the risk of losing devil chance
30:20 for cursed skull, there was one very specific instance where cursed skull actually helped me.
This was back when I was still a beginner Isaac player and hadn't beaten mum yet. So I happened upon this trinket alongside Scapular, which gives you a free soul heart when you're reduced to half a heart. Which means every time mum kicks me, I lose my soul heart, get teleported out, and get a new soul heart. Making me practically invincible.
It is an incredibly nieche scenario, but the item is not completely useless.
My Cursed Skull experience was completely different. I had Gimpy with Cursed Skull once. I kept having a skill issue and the 50/50 chance to get a full soul heart on critical health while holding the skull didn't really save my run that well. I got lucky on the first teleport, but after that, I got teleported out without gaining a soul heart.
My run was doomed.

You can't go wrong with a tier list and you have a great and unique visual support in the form of an excel, hope it helps you channel to grow!

Fun video, some things of note, I think the best possible use of cursed skull is after you beat the boss, you have a lot of hearts and you try to find the ultra secret room. I really liked that you had Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door music somewhere in the video, and thanks for the suggestion to get a snack it was what I needed.
I feel like basing trinkets off their overall usefulness for an entire run feels kinda weirdly weighted? Like having a swallowed penny in the early or mid game can single handedly win your run so it ending up in the general “it’s whatever” feels pretty weird?
Especially when the entire point of trinkets is the ability to just use different ones throughout a run!
Still, great work on the tier list but the scoring system itself feels like a weird decision
About broken remote: honestly with a bad run that has a no charge active that trinkets op
With a no charge active like ventricle razor you can just go in any room or just skip the floor entirely to go to the boss or maybe get secret rooms!
I won my first blue baby run with it a while ago in afterbirth so id say it shouldn't be the bottom tier as it can be used with specific conditions

Love the list! I’ll toss in my defense for Gigante Bean: There are an overabundance of “meh”-tier farting items that become effective room-clearers with this item. I’d still not put it higher than “whatever” since it requires relevant items to be useful, but it’s great at opening up a different axis of combat.

Swallowed penny is very eh. 1 coin per time your hit isnt very good, gives at most (not accounting healing) 24 coins. Which is 1-3 shop items, which are mediocre most of the time. Swallowed penny's greatest strength is being moderately common (bombing pots) and giving a 50% (?) chance to also drop a coin as Keeper.

you know store credit does work on devil deals as keeper cause he has to pay his deals in coin
Equality is actually really good if you pull it off with careful planning. When everything matches it will not only make all new drops double, but anything that was a single drop will turn into a double when you re-enter the room. As long as the items are doubled, they won't undo if you mess up the counts or swap/drop the trinket.
Generally when my items are equal I leave all drops until the end to pick up. But it's usually best on early floors

I love how well formulated this is! In a way, seeing a tier list presented like this with a kind of rubric makes it kinda feel offical! Will you do the same with items? if you do, would synergies be taken in account or would it just be the items raw power by itself?
I'm scared to even think about an item tier list lmao this trinket one took so long to make and there are like 5x as many items as there are trinkets 💀 I'm sure I will eventually tho lol so when I do yea I'll probably take something like that into account

i think it'd be interesting to see how some of the money based trinkets stack up when playing fiend folio since shops are much more prevalent what with shop chests and store whistle. great video as is though, interesting analysis!

one thing to note with devil's crown is that you can take both the normal AND blind item in alt path. It's especially useful in the ascent path because the blind devil deals are now revealed, and hopefully by this point you have more hearts to take on those devil deals. It's obviously useful all the way until home if you did take the deals, but you can obviously switch out the trinket if the item rooms are all already transformed.
One thing to note about Sigil Of Baphomet is that the shield cant actually stack forever, it has a max cap of 5 seconds. But killing an enemy with 4 seconds does bring it back to 5 seconds. It is effectively infinite shield (equal to the enemies in the room), But if you use something like a death card on a room of flies like in your example then you will only get 5 seconds max and not 20 like you stated, that however does not mean that it isn't the fucking GOAT of all trinkets lmao.

Have to disagree with 'Paper Clip' being (it's whatever) to at least a tier higher.
I honestly ended up in situations where in the Dark Room/Chest floor I had chests appearing, but lacked keys to unlock them. Heck, I even couldn't unlock the starter 4 at the time, so me getting Paper Clip was like a blessing, but that's a rare situations but did happen, lol. And I'm a full floor clearer type of player, and even then got screwed by no keys dropping.
Overall, it is your opinion - I love your ranking and mostly agree with you. Although would have been great to have another ranking based on how much beneficial/dependent for the specific set of characters. You basically don't drop Swallowed Penny as Greed / Tainted Greed, this is a "WE WON" trinket for them.

1 - yeah i'd agree for the most part but i think it'd be better in gray because of the money you get is quite sizeable and adds up pretty quickly from my experience

3 - agree, id say yellow tho bc even if you have a mediocre active it can turn it into something thats pretty powerful
4 - even early game it's still pretty shit
5 - finally someone that realizes that purple heart isnt that bad, champions arent too hard and they can provide some decent stuff, i fully agree on this

7 - agree, it should be in its whatever though nonetheless because the potential with deals
8 - cartridge will barely ever proc, it has only a 5% chance base and luck barely affects it, requiring 38 luck to activate 100% of the time, i do think its in orange though but definitely not very helpful in early or mid game
9 - agree, its very situational (and its pretty good with godhead but its godhead so cmon)
10 - the tears and spectral is very nice, and the wiggle pattern isnt too hard to deal with, honestly i think its yellow
11 - same as ring worm but it's better in gray because the ring patterns a bit harder to attack with
12 - agree but they do look funny
13 - store credit in my opinion is really solid, a free shop item is really damn solid especially if theres a really good item, you can essentially convert a trinket into an item, i'd say it should be in gray
14 - another really underrated trinket, the only reason people say its bad is because they forget they have it, its essentially a budget flight
15 - this item use to be literally broken in the ab+ days, sadly now its fallen from grace although its still pretty solid, i think it should be in gray though because you can still emmass a pretty sizeable chunk of cash early on which can let you be set for late game with the shop items you may have
16 - wonderful trinket, definition of red tier
17 - it should be in gray tier because its nice to have black hearts be more common, yes, although black hearts in themselves are already rare to spawn naturally so its never something you actually notice
18 - same as above, although it can be very noticeable if you have the key pieces, too, also in late game you're not getting deals anymore so i'd honestly say its most harmful mid-game because you may have a lot of red heart containers and not enough room for any soul hearts
19 - agree, in late game though i'd say move it to cool i guess due to the chest (you'd be surprised by the amount of times i've gotten to chest with not a lot of keys, might just be the guppy's tail talkin though)
20 - i have never used this in my life, the thing with this is that you need to be RIGHT at death for it to be useful, i feel like it's most useful early game for getting a lot of hp while playing a sac room but by mid-game and especially late-game you have so much hp already you probably dont wanna sacrifice it all for 1 black heart in return, deserves gray tier at most, probably orange tier due to the amount of fall-off late game
21 - i never notice it doing anything my whole run tbh, agree
22 - daemon's tail is incredibly underrated, how it works is that 80% of your red hearts are turned into keys, however if a red heart successfully spawns it becomes a black heart. essentially, take mitre and paper clip and sort of combine them into one powerhouse of a trinket.
this is an absolutely busted trinket and the only time i could see it being bad is if you're playing a red heart character like maggy or something, from my experience i've just gotten a metric fuck-ton of black hearts and keys that i have no idea what to do with em all, its incredibly solid at every point of the game, can be a boon when combined with guppy's tail and barely falls off late game, this deserves green tier, please stop sleeping on this absolutely amazing trinket

I think you're underating mysterious candy, it gives you infinite money, red and soul hearts, it essentially is an instant win early and mid, and infinite health late game if you want to min-max the item. Essentially a one trinket game break
Child's leash is pretty good with lillith if you use it correctly. It can also help with dry baby by keeping him near you so you have something that tanks damage closer to you.

Pulse worm actually does have 1 use and that's that it works with godhead aura making it even better
The daemons tail (probably) works by reducing red heart drops but if you get a red heart drop it changes it to black heart, its also very busted with the 3 skull gambling minigame because ALL hearts he drops wil be black

I would bump up Gulped Penny, the usefulness in early shops is very strong, you can recycle a lot of red hearts potentially, by having early coins in the run you boost the chance for arcades to appear which mean even more coins at the expense of red hearts... and all of that is boosted even more in greed mode.
believe it or not but broken remote can break the game if you have an infinite use active (like guppy's paw), since you can just keep teleporting across a whole floor until you've every special room. probably the most boring and tedious way to break a run, but it can break one nonetheless

Tick is pretty goated, it drains a lot of HP from late game bosses like Beast or Delirium, one of my favorites tbh.

Mysterious Candy actually procs it's effect every 30 seconds, so it's not half bad. Granted it's still in whatever, but it can really give you emergency bridges or poop drops, etc.

Overall a great tier list, but I highly disagree with the left hand not being top tier. The cons the left hand offers is 100% worth it for not only a potential guppy, but the amount of soul hearts it offers which is nuts
I would argue that, in a specific yet common scenario, the paperclip is still useful late-game; when you reach the chest/darkroom but you have very few keys, you physically CANNOT tell me that hasn't happened to you. You just can't.
The only time I have made use of the Equality trinket is in greed mode where you can usually quite easily make everything equal and not pick up coins on a floor until you have beaten all of it, than it goes off with double coins. other than that 0/10
Actualy Gigante Bean also works on the spread from Contagion making it basiacly a guarantee in a normal room.
Also dingle berry charmes all the enemy dips so its pratically dirty mind but in a trinket

You can use the poops from Mysterious Candy to bridge across gaps, which sometimes can help you get to a chest or pickups. It saved my run once. So I'd say its better than Whip Worm, which has never done anything for me (as far as I can tell)

Sigil of Baphomet absoutely deserves its placement, but if I recall correctly the stored invulnerability caps out at 5 seconds, so clearing a swarm of flies or something won't net you 20s as you say in the video. Still 10/10 trinket and it doesn't change its placement, just a minor thing to note.

Crows heart is insane if you know how to use it, you can carry it into a new floor and drop it in the first room if you have no use for it rn but if you find a sac room or if you manage to kill the boss and are trying to full clear you can use it as a way to protect your soul hearts for the rest of the floor. It is however pretty replaceable in that if you have a better trinket you wouldn't want to bring crows heart to the next floor in its place
There’s a small problem with mysterious candy, being that poops can act as a shield for enemy bullets. This helps a lot when fighting delirium or mother.
The main use i found for 103° "Equality!" is in greedier mode. If you force to be always in 0 coins, 0 bombs and 0 keys then you get x2 coins in the floor, you spent all so as you return to the 000 and continue like that.
More nelward 🔥 also I always forget how many trinkets there are and I got so confused on WHY it was 2 hours long!
Mothers kiss on tainted keepre and normal keeper is really nice, since getting an additional hp container on these characters are hard to come by
I wish you could've touched on more trinket combinations. They are rare, but some can be pretty powerful, like gulped + bloody penny.
I believe Equality is meant to fundamentally change how you go through a run. If you decide to hold on to it and get it to trigger, what your meant to do is not pick up anything until you've full cleared the floor. That way all pickups have been doubled and if done correctly they'll stay equal once you picked everything up.
Obviously this doesn't work all the time and as soon as you use a penny, drop a bomb or use a key it goes right back to normal. But that's just how I see it's functionality. Overall you'll get a lot more drops, catch is it'll have to be at the end of the floor. Provided your room drops continue to drop equally.
Tick also removes armour from hush and delirium, which is pretty useful.

ive used crow's heart to esentially protect my soul hearts for the next floor after i already kill the boss, and then smuggle it. pretty okay but i wouldnt say its much better than where you put it
Equality! is really good early game, you pick one pickup of everything then you do the floor leaving all the new pickup on the ground and at the end you will have a ton of pickups. Then try to have an equal amount the next floor and repeat
I don’t know on how you can say maggys faith is “cool I guess” you can get so much benefits from it that it should probably be in we won imagine getting 1 free health per floor
I think it'd be interesting to see something like this with mom's box changes to trinkets. Some useless trinkets become really useful while holding that item

with broken remote and any zero charge active item it is basically a more useable teleport item (and an interesting visual if the zero charge active item is how to jump)

Equality is amazing in Greed mode. Save coins for the end of a floor, match your pickups, and double your money! Go to the next floor, rinse and repeat! Drops that double dont ever swap back to single pickups, so since everything has dropped, you're set!

Also it you get the ability to hold 2 trinkets then lucky rock and blessed penny are a phenomenal combo, especially since lucky rock can spawn lucky pennies(I think at least since i remember using it to get insane amounts of luck)
