      @@almara90 I ordered mine from Amazon and before using wear something you don't mind getting stained. Make sure you are in a place where you can easily clean up. But, it's been a month and my hair has little breakage. My hair is growing back from the radiation and medication fallout. Be careful putting it on the scalp it may cause itching. Good hair growth instead of good luck ☺️

    Note they do this with oil and not water. It is also applied to the HAIR and not the scalp. The person combing appears to be rough, but notice what kind of comb she is using. It's not all that rough. Hhhh

    I LOVE these videos. I’ve been using Chebe Powder from Sahel Cosmetics for almost 2 years now. It was supposed to be for just 6 months, but I’ve loved the results of retaining length (my hair is almost at my waist), that I kept going. I did get braids, and had them in for 3-4 months, but then I missed Chebe so much that I went back to using it, and still do to this day. Not sure if/when I’ll EVER stop using it. It goes a long way, but I make sure to keep it in stock, especially with how the pandemic slowed down everything. I use it the TRADITIONAL Chadian way. This way doesn’t work for everyone, but it has been perfect for me.

    Definitely too rough for me. I use Chebe alot n I love it. I don't use a comb , I use my fingers. I don't rush or be preoccupied with anything else but my self care. I take my time and speak positive things to my hair. I handle my hair with gentleness and love. I had to learn. I know now. 😊

    Im reading the comments of about being rough 😂 growing up black it always appears that way when people watch but my mother knew how much tension with combs, I never cried from pain. She was gentle with braids and applying products. Long story short she grew my hair to my lower back with just blue magic and water. She never let my hair get loose or tangled. It was always plaided with product to avoid breakage

    Y’all are being mad weird in the comments like our mama and aunties didn’t man-handle our hair . And my hair is thick and healthy!! The people saying she is too rough clearly can’t be anywhere from the South 😂. And y’all complain about this but didn’t have a problem putting them damn chemicals in your head. Y’all should’ve been mad at that.

    • @LethalLemonLime
      @LethalLemonLime 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am very much so mad that my Nigerian mother put relaxers in my hair. I also think that we should not be rough with our children's hair but I don't actually think this woman is being rough. Your hair might be thick but is it not breaking off? is it retaining length? your thick hair is just your density. rough handling isn't going to decrease your density. It will however break off your hair and prevent you from retaining length. It is not weird for people to not want someone to be rough with their child. You seem to be anti-progression. I find that even more weird that you want us to stay in the past. lots of things were legal and accepted in the past that are wrong and that we know are wrong now. but it seems like you want us to go back to when we didn't know things were wrong. which is weird.

    • @staciegreene2262
      @staciegreene2262 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@LethalLemonLime I didn’t say I wanted us to go back to anything. I said people in the comments are acting like it never happened, and this is the first time they are seeing thick hair being handled. And just because it seems like she’s being rough to us modern day black Americans doesn’t mean she’s being rough from the Chad perspective. They CLEARLY don’t have an issue growing their hair this way for centuries. Lastly, it was Black Americans who taught the majority of the diaspora how to care for their natural hair. So please miss me with the hair lesson. That perm broke y’all hair off , not subjective “roughness”. Our grandmothers, mothers, and aunties did our hair the same way, and our hair was flourishing with water and hair grease.

      @@staciegreene2262also, my daughter’s hair is super thick and her stylist is the most gentle person that I’ve ever dealt with and that’s why she will be with her until the end of time. You don’t have to be rough with thick hair it just requires a lil more product/water to tame it.

    I have so many questions. What's the blue paste in that jar next to the powder? How often do they unravels the braids to do this? How do they wash it out? Ik these questions will likely never be answered. And this point we have to stop lusting after what they do. We aren't in that environment & we don't know what else causes them to have such great length retention. I'm sure they are other factors.

    • @LethalLemonLime
      @LethalLemonLime 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The length retention appears to be due to the fact that their hair is stretched out in braids and kept in a long-term low manipulation style. I find it interesting that this practice got popular in non-nomadic cultures (I was going to say the west but Africa is not the west and it got popular in countries in Africa as well that are more "westernized/modernized") due to these videos and so brands are making products with chebe powder. I think it's fascinating that people saw this video and came to the conclusion that this powder was the sole (or at least the main) reason why their hair was retaining length. when it's clearly much more than that. It's interesting how many brands started putting random chebe powder into their formulations as if that was supposed to do anything for people. I thought it should be obvious that putting chebe powder in a twisting cream to do a twist out is not going to improve your length retention but I guess not. It also looks as if the chebe powder actually helps with stretching their hair and keeping it stretched in those braids because if I were to braid my hair (without extensions obviously) It would definitely shrink up somewhat so I think the chebe powder gives it some sort of hold but different to that of gel. idrk though... just musing lol

      And I haven't been able to find any footage of them washing their hair, which is baffling to me because I need to wash my scalp at least once a week or it just gets super irritated and inflamed. I wonder what's their secret to how they are able to go so long with having an unbothered scalp. 🤔
