I'm obsessed with this looping workflow to the point that I built a template for Ableton standard/suite that does quantized retrospective audio looping using the stock looper plug. You just play in time with the metronome. Then when ready, choose the number of bars and it jumps back and loops what you already played. Super happy to see this workflow making its way into more devices. If you want to check it out deets are in my bio.
Yes! This blew me away as well on Note. It’s like an RC-505 built into it. If you had to record within the confines of just preset bar lengths, it wouldn’t be the same.
shout out Arale! Thanks for the studio tour. I just recently discovered your page, I've been trying to decide if I need to get the Move. Your review was great. I too realized I should probably just get the Push 3. I don't make music on the go but need something stand alone. Anyways you're dope and thanks.
I bought the seqtrack, i am enjoy it every week. I had ableton pc but never did much with it. My next update would be an ipad. There are a lot unique apps/synth, fx, and you can mix the sounds with aum.
From my point of view the ipad is the best purchase you can make if you are looking for a portable groovebox where you will miss virtually nothing as your musical performance progresses. And if need be, you can connect a MIDI controller to it.
Confession: I never really used MIDI capture before Ableton Move - then I learned how fast it was to work. Now I use it on both Push 3 AND Move all the time. :)
All well and good but capture has been available on push since they released this function in live, with Push 3 it had a dedicated button for the first time.
your honesty is great hate when geartubers act like they love new gear just because it’s new .maybe date some firmware updates this’ll be a lot better like how the circuit /tracks became .thanks for the vid
Ha ha I have random modules hanging around too. Do you have 2 clouds? That’s dope I got beads but never had clouds it was kind of before my modular journey. Anyways yeah think capture is dope too. Love skip back on sp as well even though I rarely use the sp anymore. Good stuff keep groovin!
Does is work with 8 tracks in Note, as a midi controller? I mean … does it sync with other devices? What happens when you open a 8 track Note project? I think move is very good to perform with Notes and other gear because there so many ways to connect.
Oh! … if there’s no workaround … . If you use move standalone and combine it with Note plus APC keys 25 … you have. 12 tracks and you can control 2 channels at the same time.
@@AlexanderJung-zg7bz-kinda, but you're lacking the DSP to manipulate further audio signals-could only do MIDI. Honestly, the Move has a lot of potential, it's exciting, but kinda bummed out by the lack of traditional "audio" tracks beyond just playing back samples. If it could act as a super solid iZotope Spire/Portastudio-like device for tracking real instruments, I could see them doing very well with it, especially with 64GB of storage. The potential is there with the inputs, it's already very cool, but feel like this is something that should have been there on day one.
No…. I have Novarion launchpad … 8 tracks (in 8 raws))with high and low pass filter. Plus Master effects. Controlled via launchpad mini. Super light weight Live Set.
This hasn't been standard on controllers for many years already? Maybe I'm just spoiled with what scripts exist for various controllers, but I didn't think that was a new concept in any way post-Maschine back in 2009.
@@groovindj I assume he mean that there is nothing to stop a digital instrument from having more than 4 tracks in 2024 except for the strategy of not bringing its capabilities too close to those of its higher-priced product (PUSH). The Beatles have absolutely nothing to do with it.
It’s 8 note polyphony on the drum pads, allows for resampling and allows for 4 MINUTE samples per pad…so there’s a lot more you can do than you maybe realize…
@ yep and love it except for the garbage speaker. You can put a non bad speaker in a device that size. Look at every iPad these days. Ableton chose to barely acceptable speaker in a music device. 🤷♂️ no

Midi Capture is on the MPC. Shift Record after playing.

With MPC you press shift plus REC. It just doesn't find the BPM
Shift capture clears any data before you use the feature so good practice to clear every time
Is this the same for push or just move?
@@drackaris_ no idea sorry I only have move

Jade Unplugged! And maybe a little unhinged? I love it
On the Akai Force it's called retrospective record

I use MPC Live 2. It has this feature easy peasy. Still best controller/portable Daw in my opinion

Is Midi Capture in Push3 standalone too? Does it work the same like ok Move/Note?
Man if you people don’t like the ableton move, take it back or stay with the mpc.
