Hi, just want to say thanks for your help. I play drums and during my 19 years living in Texas I had to sing and play to get a gig . I even did a number of years singing in church . That is so good for your confidence or overcoming your lack of confidence . I can just hold a tune but I was complemented on my singing , as a singer I am a great drummer. No booze ,every eye on you and it's Sunday morning !! No pressure . Well I am back in Australia and back playing . You have helped me with "Come together" and those four secrets are great information. My keyboard player used to say sing like there is a hot potato in your mouth , so that chewing idea really works . Once again Thanks . My bass player is Italian so he thinks your the greatest thing since pizza ! Cia.

I try to sing like John Lennon pre-1966, when he had that distinctive rasp to his voice. It’s impossible to totally imitate obviously, but sometimes I feel like there’s a lyric or two where I get close, and it’s kind of exciting. It helps a bit when I double track myself (as John himself often did)
I prefer his earlier vocals as well.

This might not be the best video on TH-cam, but it certainly is one of the best "bang for your buck" videos. I watched it first years ago, and I still benefit from those tips, especially tip number 2, a real game changer. Thank you!
This helps you a lot pronouncing the word correctly i.e. achieveing a better tone and letting your aduience better understand you..
