    I was slightly incorrect about the joy con setup. The blue on the left and red on the right is how it comes with consoles (original and OLED). Red on the left and blue on the right is how it comes if you buy the joy cons on their own. Regardless though, they didn’t include the OLED joy cons, which is why they were loose

    • @GinandTronics
      @GinandTronics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      yeah this is correct,
      but the Original joycons for on the oled fine. it's just the plastic rails on the joycons and the locking catches have wear.

      @@RobbinBanksInc I haven't personally seen this, there is some differences in manufacturing tolerances though.
      if the locking catches work fine. then I normally place a slim peice of plastic (think a drink bottle) against the rumble motor. and this make the flexing better

      @RobbinBanksInc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GinandTronics i had to put a couple pieces of electric tape on both sides and the joycons were snug and slid in and out smoothly. It was just weird that the white joycons out the box was wobbly for me but different colored joycons were snug so probably just a manufacturing error

    • @GinandTronics
      @GinandTronics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RobbinBanksInc yeah you can stick tape on the lower bit.
      I can't really do that as I sell them, so I make sure they don't have the wobble.
      one thing I've noticed with the manufacturing of the switches is, there's alot of different manufacturing tolerances. so I guess if you get loose metal rails. and slim plastic rails, then you get your problem.

    Ironically, even if these are kinda terrible deals when you can get the new system for slightly more money, there’s the advantage that the joycons might actually not drift for a long time due to the joycons having their joysticks replaced!

    • @PlazDreamweaver
      @PlazDreamweaver 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The joy cons from my V2 non-OLED Switch have no wobble in my OLED Switch. It's possible those joy cons are just really well used and that's why they're wobbling. I thought maybe they're aftermarket since they have those stickers on them but then you said they have some scratches on them.

      I have white oled and it does have slight wobble from day one. Is that normal? I bought second set of cons and it wobbled after one day of use. Just a slight wobble nothing major. Gonna be the odd man out and disagree with the majority that advise avoiding buying used/refurb'd from Gamestop. Being a former employee and even before then I used to quite often buy used/refurb'd systems from GS. If you take advantage of the 1yr replacement warranty for an extra $20 it's beyond a steal if anything goes wrong with the system you just bring it to your nearest store that has a replacement and swap it out. Survived the 7th generation with the 360s re-occurring RROD issue doing just that. Ended up going through a dozen or so systems that otherwise would have had to been sent off to MS and paid for out of pocket.

    • @jrob0021

      It’s only a good deal if the price is actually good on the refurbished console. Every refurbished console I see from GameStop now a days is barely cheaper then new, so it’s not worth it. $350 brand new OLED switch with warranty >> $330 refurbished OLED switch + $20 warranty. We also just don’t have nearly as many issues with consoles now like we had with the 360, and even PS3

    • @Munishin
      @Munishin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

If they actually replace the sticks or something, then I'd be shocked. Either way, it's most certainly not worthwhile to buy a refurbished console for $20 less at any price point if it has scratches everywhere, if the components on and in the console are worse, and even if you just get a worse unboxing experience, or a worse experience as a whole.

    i have an original 2017 neon switch and the joy cons are the same colour as the new oled when its actually new and it was a separate package to get the left as red and the right as blue so you made a mistake here but its actually gamestops mistake that they included the wrong joy cons

    I remember getting a refurbished Wii U from GameStop back when Smash 4 was close to releasing.
    It was all good and the console itself worked as normal, up until I turned on the Gamepad. They messed something up with the wireless signal for the gamepad. The thing boots into an error screen most of the time. It takes like 3 attempts to turn on.
    I don't know if this is an actual Wii U gamepad problem, but the thing can sometimes have burn-in from the error screen. It goes away quickly, but it's a bizarre thing to see. I don't know what GameStop did to the gamepad.

    The wiggle is because Nintendo doesn't do any quality control on their crap overpriced joycons. Its literally a crapshoot on whether or not your joycons will wiggle on your device. I've had several joycons and every single one of them are completely different from the other one. Some fit looser, others fit tighter. Some have buttons that feel solid, others have buttons that feel completely hollow.

    Ty for ur video. U only reinforced the fact that GStop does not care about their customers. A few yrs bk I bought a NEW Xbox 1X & had to return it bk twice because it was obvious that it wasn't new. Only when I said "I'm opening it here b4 I leave & I am recording w/my cell" that I got a new one. Their excuse was.."things shift in the box during shipping to the store" which is a bunch of bull$#!t. I only purchase a wire or something small nothing major. Best place to buy, for me at least, is Best Buy. Take care & tysm once again.✌

      Oh oops actually I was wrong. The blue on the left and red on the right is how it comes with consoles (original and OLED). Red on the left and blue on the right is how it comes if you buy the joy cons on their own. Regardless though, they didn’t include the OLED joy cons

  • @Youngson113
    @Youngson113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've worked at GS before. "refurbished" is false advertising because they do absolute jackshit to most of the consoles that come in. you make sure it works on a base level, meaning it turns on and theres nothing wrong with the picture and controller, you take the serial number into the system, and then you box it and shelf it righ there in the store. one time I even bought a ps3 that didn't have any data from the previous owner wiped. that felt wrong to me so i just did it myself. thankfully hardware and function wise its never given me problems.
