I work at GameStop and the magic eraser consoles come from our refurbishment team in Grapevine. You can spot a “refurbished” console on the stickers it will say GSRF. I refuse to clean the consoles with a magic eraser at my store. The amount of people at this establishment that don’t know the erasers cause micro scratches is insane.
Because.. for some reason, people are still willing to sell their 4 month old consoles for 1/40th of the original price and ANY game for 8 cent cash or 10 cent strore credit, lol.

And a customer gave me a Wii CIB and a PS3 slim for free because he just wanted them gone and at the time we weren't taking those consoles in for trade

How are they so bad at packing stuff? Throwing a few bubbles on top of the console when the bottom and sides are just sitting right against the carboard box isn't protecting anything. They tried, I guess.

It isn't the little air pillows I take issue with, it's that there needs to be something between all sides of a console (kind of like it's suspended within the box) for it to actually be protected. If you look at any original packaging for consoles they do this with form fitted pieces a lot of the time so that no part of the console is ever in contact with the side of the cardboard. Even putting wadded up brown paper under, on the sides, and on top of a console will offer better protection than just throwing air pillows on top and calling it a day.

Seriously though! When I got my PS5 it was back when it was basically impossible to get. So I bought it in a bundle because it was the only way to get it. It came with an extra controller and 2 games....except it didn't. There was literally no extra controller or any games even when I paid around $200-$250 more because of it being the bundle. GameStop said the only option was to return everything and that they wouldn't give me a refund for the items I didn't get. Took arguing with them for about 3 months to get partial money back.
Last Monday, i found a Xbox 360 from goodwill and it still works and it was a Jasper. There was a free game in there which was Far Cry but i didnt pick it up since i already have a 360 elite

Ive had terrible jobs that none of these types of people would ever last in, and my motivation always came from customers. Treating people the best i could. Being the best at what i do, all despite not getting paid a lot. Its really sad that people are judt getting so lazy and careless. And we're the ones paying for it.
YES JACOB I LOVED THE INCREDIBLES GAME ON PS2!! I must’ve played and replayed every level like a thousand plus times but I never got sick of it as a kid 😂 and man remember the Dash level where you had to run after the bus man that gives me flashbacks 🫣😵💫
Let me guess, gamestop did a perfect job making people think their getting remotely usable consoles with basic accessories included. I could only imagine the anger if someone got a brand new console from gamestop that they spent 500 on and something happened to it (no fault of their own) and got a console with no controller as their replacement and a broken fan and very dusty. Sounds like gamestop 🤔

7:49 I have seen that happen when the games were installed on an expansion card that had since been removed.
The GameStop handled that Series X done the process so wrong. I am in disbelief from that.

The joystick being sticky could be the rubber degrading on the switch.
They probably used magic eraser on the controller, and did such a good job that it probably erased the controller.
