I’ve tried running the wire directly to the harness and it worked. However, it’s more of a temporary solution because I started having the same problem again after about 2 years. I am now looking for a more permanent solution but I am also reluctant to get a ford relay in there. This looks like a great idea and it looks very clean and factory. Thank you for sharing!

Glad it helps! I've had this set up for a couple years now and have not had a problem.

I have an 86 toy base, 5spd rwd. I also had the no click start problem. Did the wire by pass method n no starting issues since the install.

I live in Washington with an 86 4Runner having that same issue and looking to fix, it was intermittent for awhile then now it just won’t turn over

@@greygreenough5505 Yeah that happened to my '87 too. Sometimes unplugging the relay and plugging it back in would work but it got to the point where it was just constantly doing it. If your local to me feel free to bring it by or ask any questions you need and we can get you sorted.

Not yet, It would probably be easier though as you just need to add a starter relay.

Very cool, nice and tidy. How do you like the Weber? When I changed mine, it was night and day, I did put the Offenhauser intake on though, and a dual-row chain. JIm

      Thank you Jim!
The Weber works great I like it a lot more than the stock carb, It does have a little bit of issue at high angles when I'm off-roading but other than that it works really well.

It's usually not too bad unless I'm going up a real steep incline.
There's actually a modification that you can do to the Weber that relocates the fuel bowl vent to correct that issue.
Maybe I'll cover it in an upcoming video.

Got a 38mm Weber on a LCE stage 2 stroker..(160hp).Only problem is it blows up G and W transmissions...had to find a R151F and it cost me big along with a V6 diff....Anyone installing a Weber remember they only need 2.5 to 4 psi fuel pressure(OEM pump is 7 psi), anything more and they run very rich and cant tune... Before you cut up any wires make sure the rely is totally bad, Ive opened one and cleaned the contacts and fixed it....

So if I already cut the harness and ran it to the battery, would I just keep that then just cap the red wire if I were to add this relay?

Man I feel like the dumb guy but the battery wire hooks directly to the pos on the battery?

Yeah Thanks man wiring makes my head hurt but I looked at it just seemed too easy . Basically bypassed all the Bs. Unfortunately I already had purchased an expensive used relay. I used the same starter for ten years aftermarket then went through 3 in six months one was bad out of the box second one lasted a month and then I the third one was going it seemed to lock up at times still think the solenoid could be hanging up but its very random and at 50 im just get too old to pop start my rig, so anyways thanks for the info
