  • Miss USA 2016 Crowning - Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber
Deshauna Barber is the Logistics Commander for the 988th Quartermaster Detachment Unit at Fort Meade, Md., and she was asked about the Pentagon opening all combat roles to women.
“The Pentagon recently made the decision to open up all combat jobs to women,” one of the judges began. “Now some have questioned whether this has put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform at the highest level. What are you thoughts?”
“As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military,” Barber answered. “We are just as tough as men.”

I don’t know why that was even a question. I think men forget us women literally give and birth life to a HUMAN!!!!!! Yet they still think women aren’t tough!!! Pshhh please.

When a fit woman can pick up a 210 pound front line male marine with 40+ of gear and body armor, or drag them to safety about 100ft, then yes you can fight along side of them. Also when females have to sign up with the selective service, then they are considered equals in the military. Can't have it both ways and not be forced to sign up at 18.

You're cute. I could, in my 20s, jog about a quarter mile while carrying a 200 lb man. And I was shoter than her. It's all about the training. :)

You wanna join and serve, had at it. But don’t talk to us men about toughness. I was forced out due to injury, felt like I was a disgrace to the military and knew I could still outperform every woman in basic training. Not sure why this is relevant in my suggested videos.
By the way, she said gender not sex. Guess gender had not become magically malleable yet.

She didn't really answer the questions but she's being monitored so I get it. First thing she should have addressed was the different PT standards. If equality is what they want then make all the PT standards the same lol
