The news saying Shin Tae-yong will be sacked if he doesn’t win against Saudi Arabia is just random talk from football fans trying to blame someone for their frustration. Almost everyone in Indonesia loves Shin Tae-Yong, even though the results haven’t been perfect yet.

    • @dyo510
      @dyo510 หลายเดือนก่อน +30

People who wants Shin Tae Yong sacked back home are pure haters who wants his head no matter the results. It may be true that having mostly European based players as starters made some people thought that we should have European coach to perform better but unfortunately some Shin Tae Yong head hunters in the media especially had been haters all along from the very beginning..

If Indonesia qualifies for the 2026 world cup, Indonesia is the only team to qualify from the bottom of the ladder, from play-off round 1, qualify for round 1, qualify for round 2 and hopefully qualify for round 3/4.

Fans in Indonesia critized Shin Tae-hong of his first team decision. He kept changing winning team. Poor decision of attacking strategy against China with high defense was a proof that Indonesia was more suitable as counter attack team due to pacey strikers and very good with long ball.

    • @musicvibe110
      @musicvibe110 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

LOL, it's pretty ironic even funny. These Dutch-Indonesian players grew up being fed with philosophy of total football à la Cruyff where football is all about creativity, precise passing neat from foot to foot, and elegant playmakers controlling the game. But somehow, Shin Tae-yong turned them into a team that relies solely on counterattacks, minimal creativity, pragmatic play, and an over-reliance on individual skill none of which seem to be part of Cruyff’s total football curriculum. Creativity in midfield? Gone. Player spacing in midfield? So far.... Sure counterattacking might work against stronger teams. It’s logical: sit deep, stay compact, wait for your moment, and then sprint forward with your pacey strikers.... But against weaker teams on paper, like Bahrain or China? It’s a disaster. The team looks confused. Where’s the creativity? How do you break down a low block? They’re so used to waiting for opponents to attack that when they have to dictate the game, they end up running in circles, clueless. That’s classic STY
Take Thom Haye, for example a natural deep-lying playmaker, yet he’s being forced to play like a Gattuso or some knock-off Park Ji-sung, running around aimlessly, burning energy, with no room for creativity just longpass longpass longball longball. By the 65th minute, it’s no surprise he’s gassed out. Meanwhile players like Ragnar Oratmangoen or Rafael Struick might thrive in this system since they’re more defensively inclined and have solid stamina. And Asnawi? Well his 120% effort makes him perfect for this style, but let’s be real he lacks the vision and ends up playing recklessly.... But honestly how can you take a team with the potential for beautiful creative football and turn them into a "run fast, counter fast" squad? If this keeps up, when will we ever see Indonesia capable do well dominate a game and control possession with style? especially against team weaker on paper

  • @ZhukayProduction
    @ZhukayProduction หลายเดือนก่อน +28

The talk about sacking Shin Tae-Yong were mostly from a faction of Indonesian fans lead by a local pundit that hates STY and using descendants players. The guy keep calling for Shin Tae-Yong to be sack for every small mistake pretty much, and the pundit wants to make the national team to only play people playing in Indonesian's league, no abroad players. And the double losses against china and Japan made that group that follows said pundit to become so vocal that some news media decided to cover on that for clicks and views. Majority of the fans doesn't call for Shin Tae-Yong's head to be on the block

Just wanted to say I genuinely agree with all of ur takes. Also, unlike most youtubers who over Asian World Cup qualifiers, they tend to have some bias for a team while you always seem quite fair to every team, along with Michael Talks Football, so big thanks to you two.
And well I am a Chinese supporter, so as for China going to fourth round, I think it's a possibility, but I won't get my hopes high. They don't have to face Japan anymore, so thats a relief and an advantage. Also to note China always has strong history of giving their supporters lots of hope, such as winning some games and being in a great position to qualify for world cup, and then they throw it all away and lose an important match.
    And some more thoughts:
Branko Ivankovic did say in an interview before the game that they did indeed work on defending set pieces, but that obviously did not turn out so great. And for Wu Lei, well he is our captain and at 33 years old he still dominates the Chinese super league, so he will be a part of the last four matches. As long as he stays fit, he's still the best Chinese player right now by a lot. It's really good to see young players taking part, as last Asian cup we had the second oldest team competing. Fun fact the game against Bahrain was the first time Branko Ivankovic fielded 0 naturalised players, so that was cool.

Before china bahrain match, china also asked the referree to be non middle east origin. But now that afcmafia tags became viral, i think maybe fifa is paying more attention to this issue. Hello, man, a little tip from a Chinese supporter:
In fact, excluding set pieces, China conceded 9 goals: in that 7-0 match, Japan's first goal came from a corner kick, Endo's header, and Indonesia's Tom Haye's goal came from China's defensive error in the throw-in.

10:23 a lot of Aussies wouldn't have heard of Hayden Matthews yet. He plays for my club. He's big, he's tall, the classic style CB we love to bits down under. Even I was surprised he got a start, I genuinely thought he was just getting picked to be in the squad for the experience. Very good player, but realistically needs a season or 2 more of pro football under his belt. the idea of Him and Souttar in a few years tho, we're gunna be massive at the back. literally. Agree with Geria being good btw. The guy has been a rock for Melbourne Victory forever, reliable, gives 100% happy to see him get a chance. But therein lies the problem., When it comes it to defenders, we could pick a team of players non-aussies have never heard about and probably still be solid as hell at the back, whereas even our best attackers just aren't cutting it in Asia right now. I appreciate deadball tv's faith that Australia will still finish 2nd, but just do it in the most boring fashion possible. Sounds about right. 😂

Hey pal. From a Swede who lived in Australia for three years. Greeting from the beautiful north.
I think Australia will need to wonder what has gone wrong with them after six matches before they can resume their campaign in March. They're so lucky to remain second since October, partly because the rest (except Japan) is equally terrible.
Our Sweden has just changed manager from Jan Andersson to now Jon Dahl Tomasson, whose success with Malmö earned him the job, and we are still trying to adjust on how good Tomasson going to be. Yes, our Nations League is a success, but I can't say if we can qualify for the World Cup in North America. Tomasson is still new to the coaching position and, while we prioritise long term gains, we need to be patient with what Tomasson can do.
Blame that they just hired Tony Popovic maybe, but I am trying to be nuanced given the Sweden experience. I am sure that Aussies are not happy with Popovic being appointed, but he has just four matches and he needs time to adjust to what he is doing.

The question over Saudi Arabia's malaise in this group earns me more attention, given I have friends working in football transfer markets in KSA.
The reality is Herve Renard isn't smart. He has the motivational spirit and energy, but he doesn't have the ability to maintain earlier successes. In fact, his past triumphs in Africa and Saudi Arabia (1st) has a lot to do with Patrice Beaumelle and Laurent Bonadei, who were his previous assistants and also the smart ones. Renard's new assistant, David Ducci, doesn't have the astuteness of the previous two, and this is the reason why Saudi Arabia is so terrible. Additionally, Renard's high-tempo pressing, a legacy of Beaumelle, is no longer strange to other opponents anymore, so I think the situation will turn worse for them if they can't accept this fact.
With Indonesia, they are like Tottenham, they can get big win and can also collapse very quickly. Given the high morale of the Indonesians at the moment, let's expect their upcoming next year collapse.

    • @ourmonarchy326
      @ourmonarchy326 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

You identified well. Or maybe your friends. Patrice Beaumelle was Renard's assistant during the 2018 World Cup and I recognised his ability to influence the game. Renard seems to be restricted only to the role of an influencer. A talented motivator but not a great coach. Beaumelle deserved more recognition for his contribution.

I’m Indonesian and i want to share the good and bad so what you mean by “collapse” is arguable
here are the positives about Indonesia national team:
      - great fighting spirit
      - very direct counter attack
      - great supporters atmosphere
      - discipline defenders
      - no drama and great sportmanship
      - they had a good situation internally, they believe each other
and here are what Indonesia National team lacks:
      - individual error, sometimes lead to opponent’s goal
      - finishers
      - consistency, sometimes they play great but sometimes not. maybe the chemistry was not there if the coach still changes too many players on every match
      - some player still not play a simple game like pass and move. they still like to dribble and dribble
      - some players are easily provoked /can’t control emotion (many young footballer)
      - i don’t see any tactics adjustment if the team face a deadlock. just Arhan’s throw in

Thanks mate. I think Indonesia beating the Saudis was a massive favour to Australia and as you suggest may be enough for us to steal second place. Australia do better against the stronger sides where they can play to their strength of being tough to break down and relying on some individual brilliance on the counter - got them a long way in the last WC. When they have to boss the game against supposedly weaker sides, the lack of go forward cohesian starts to get a bit embarassing. I don't know what Kye Rowles has done to Popovic but he and Soutar were solid at the last WC and so how Cam Burgess can continue to make mistakes but keep his place i don't know. I'm a Caceres fan - he has been one of those frustrating players with enormous talent who just hasn't gone on to the heights - he was once signed by the City Football Group. However he has been playing his best football the last couple of years and bossing the Aleague with Sydney FC so I have been happy to see him get a go. Riley Mc has been living off his scorpian kick goal for far too long and needs to actually produce some quality more consistently. Yengi got two goals against Bahrain but missed a hatful of other chances, so the (long long) search for a no 9 goes on. Irakunda might be the answer but not clear where his head is at. In the absence of Matthew Leckie, Craig Goodwin is the only genuine attacking quality the Socceroos have. But as you say, you can never fault the team's effort and I'm sure they will find a way to get to WC26 - might be another record number of qualifiers though!

Japan have been tactically brilliant for many years now, this helps them and is why they always perform well in long league like competitions,
BUT Japanese teams always no matter how tactically brilliant, no matter how many world class individuals they have STRUGGLE in pressure situations, in a tournament/knockout structure, I dunno if it's their smaller physical size on average, or if it's a cultural thing, but Japanese teams struggle, in those games they seems to fold under the pressure of win lose games, the team seem to get pushed around (specially by the larger European and Africans) and will make silly mistakes, mistakes you don't see them make when it's WC qualifiers (where it's not knockout but a league like structure)
I remember back when I was young, 2.japanese youth teams came and toured Australia,. they played a handful of rep and academy teams here, my youth team played one of them, the team we played were incredibly gifted, they could pass us around the park, BUT they were all alot smaller and they would brake down with physicality and pressure, once we scored first, they started to make silly mistakes, poor shooting decisions etc, we beat them by a handful of goals, at the end of the game it was like some took losing like it was dishonourable.

This Renard look pale and lamer than before, he isn't the Renard we used to know before. Now I think even China smell our weaknesses and I don't think we can make it easy. Beat me but I am not clear how Renard could even save Saudi Arabia after their self-destruction, I am Moroccan and I know how Renard became terrible for us after the 2018 World Cup. Blame Roberto Mancini does not explain anything, because simply Saudis have very high ego and unwilling to admit their mistakes.
The systematic mistake of KSA comes from the depth of their culture. They believe they are supreme after the 2-1 win over Argentina, and this led to complacency and arrogance. In fact, Saudi Arabia has invested very little on improving their youth academy program, something that might surprise you given their richness. By divesting them to buy foreign superstars, they created a major loophole whose domestic players struggle to make up. You know the current top Saudi scorer in their Pro League this season? It's a 31-year old who has never got called up by the Saudi national team. Roberto Mancini was right about it, but interference and oversized confidence didn't allow them to face up.
Renard has also changed a lot. His luck is running out and with his persistent tactical issues, it's clear he can't win with the way how he is showing. He can't win with just motivation, but he must have the strategy on his mind. That's something he has failed.
Our FRMF leader Faouzi Lekjaa was correct that Renard need to go. After the loss to Benin in the 2019 AFCON, we wonder why did Renard leave and no one tried to persuade him back. Seems like Lekjaa saw something wrong with Renard already.

In matches between China and Japan, there have been documented instances of unsportsmanlike behavior from the Chinese side, such as narrowing the pitch dimensions to facilitate pressing, using drones for reconnaissance, and changing players’ jersey numbers at the last minute. Similarly, in the China vs. Indonesia match, the Chinese team employed the same tactics and secured a victory.
Given these precedents, if a match between Indonesia and China were to take place in Indonesia, it is reasonable to assume that the Chinese team would face challenges in replicating such actions. Without the ability to use drones for reconnaissance, China’s chances of defeating Indonesia on Indonesian soil would likely decrease significantly.

I get the distinction you're making, but honestly, you're overcomplicating it. Home-field advantage and strategic decisions have always been part of sports, whether you call them gamesmanship or unsportsmanlike. If these actions are within the rules, arguing about 'sportsmanship' feels more like nitpicking than addressing what really matters. The team that played better football wins.
Even in my high school varsity games, opposing teams would make us travel four hours and play a state semifinal at 11:30 pm. Was it unfair? Sure. But it was legal, and complaining about sportsmanship wouldn’t have changed anything. Teams focus on what gives them the edge-within the rules. Maybe that's just part of the game, and I have nothing to complain about.

We are absolutely toothless in attack! Granted, Kusini Yengi scored two goals vs. Bahrain 🇧🇭, however, he is not our number 9 moving forward. Mohamed Toure at Randers should be given a go at 9 in Tony Popovic's squad with Yengi at 10. Toure's goals and assist returns for Randers have been pretty good in the past few games. We also have Jason Cummings, who plays for Mohun Bagan SG in the Indian Super League. However, he's not even getting a look in.
How Popovic couldn't find a spot for Nestory Irunkunda in this window 🪟, slays me 😳! He is one of our best young prospects in many years, and he leaves him out of the squad to concentrate on his club football ⚽️ at Bayern Munich.
Another player is Alex Robertson at Cardiff City in the English Championship. Whatever is going on there with Robertson, Football Australia 🇦🇺 needs to sort this out ASAP. We desperately need him at number 8 to control the midfield.

Doubtful. Japan is clearly having the edge but given what's happened when they faced Saudi Arabia in the last WCQs, the Japanese have more incentive to knock Saudi Arabia out of the competition and consolidate the first place. Simple: terminate the threat before it grows. Given Japan always seeks to prepare for long game, I don't think they are going to overlook the March calendar.
The drive for Japan will be their desire for perfection. If they are to beat Bahrain (which is 99,5% possible), they will still try to beat Saudi Arabia so they can rest in June with ease. It's about planning for the future.

    Analysis for Group C
This group is full of chaos. If you exclude Japan, the competition among the other teams is incredibly tight. Let’s start with Japan. Japan is on a completely different level compared to the other teams in this group. However, I am a bit hesitant about their performance against stronger opposition in competitive matches. While Japan has defeated big teams, these victories have mostly occurred in friendly matches. It’s a similar pattern to Colombia, which also boasts strong records in friendlies but tends to falter against tougher opponents in competitive settings.
I wouldn’t get too carried away with Japan’s results against weaker teams because they have struggled against Iraq, Iran, and Australia with the same team and coach. People often focus on flashy results instead of consistency. For instance, many Iranian fans criticize Iran’s close victories, not realizing that Iran is the best team in the world in 2024 in terms of consecutive wins-surpassing Spain and Japan. Iran recently moved above Mexico in the FIFA rankings, which is an impressive achievement.
    Saudi Arabia
The situation for Saudi Arabia is concerning. Many players in their domestic league don’t get enough playing time due to the presence of elite foreign players. This disparity is evident when comparing Saudi teams to other Asian teams in the AFC Champions League. I believe this lack of minutes will hurt the national team. However, their new coach deserves more time to address these issues, as it’s too early to judge based on his recent results. The Gulf Cup could be a good opportunity for Saudi Arabia to address these problems.
    Australia
Australia is the only team in this group that managed to secure a point against Japan. I believe they could achieve another draw against Japan, and even a single point might be enough for them to qualify. With many teams drawing against each other and losing to Japan, every point matters.
    Indonesia
Indonesia is passionate about football, and their last appearance in the World Cup was ages ago under a different name. I think they have the potential to secure wins against Bahrain and China, and perhaps even manage a draw against Australia.
    Bahrain
Bahrain is highly unpredictable. They often lose at home but manage to pick up points away. I wouldn’t be surprised if they secured points against Indonesia. At this stage, it’s hard to predict where they will finish in the group.
    China
China has regained some momentum after a heavy loss to Japan. They are currently the only team with two wins and two losses. If they manage to secure two more wins, there’s a good chance they could finish second in the group.

The problem regarding Saudi Arabia is their new coach... not exactly new. He had worked with the Saudis between 2019-23, and it was him who masterminded Saudi Arabia's 2-1 win over Argentina. Saudi media had anticipated a great resurgence under Renard because Renard remains highly loved by the Saudi population.
The shock defeat to Indonesia dashed that hope. In just a few days, Saudi media turned from praising Renard for grinding Australia to a goalless draw into persistently bombarding Renard for the loss to Indonesia. That is not helped by the fact that Renard regarded the contract as basically a continuation of his previous one, not a new contract new life. Basically, Renard sowed to himself the pressure and Saudi media's impatience is also taking a toll.

@@Alistair-r7s That's not the only issue. The other issue is his tactic. He is obsessed with tactics related to 3-4-3 or 4-3-3, with high-tempo pressing the feature of his strategy. However, they are not developed by Renard himself, but by his first assistant, Patrice Beaumelle. For a long time, because he had good assistants like Beaumelle and Laurent Bonadei, it worked.
This time, things are different. Renard no longer has Bonadei accompanying, and his next assistant, David Ducci, isn't as good as Bonadei or Beaumelle. Moreover, his high-tempo pressing has been exposed after the 2022 World Cup, and others have started developing counter-pressing strategies against Renard. The catastrophic November results came from these changes.
Renard's lucky charm is running out and given his history of inability to sustain earlier success, you have to wonder, what does Renard even have on his hands after the loss to Indonesia? His obsession with pressing tactics will be his own downfall unless he came to realise he has been exposed, though I remain in doubt.

Kanno is important for Al-Hilal, hence why he is still used despite his mediocrity with NT after 2022. Sadly, we don't have good alternatives as seem to be. Saud Abdulhamid? He is the bench boy for Roma, the Italians aren't interested on using him. Hassan Al-Tambakti is increasingly ignored by Jorge Jesus. Faisal Al-Ghamdi and Marwan Al-Sahafi are totally invisible with NT despite firing forms in Belgium. Rayan Hamed has been prone to injuries. Abdullah Radif? He is sometimes used, sometimes not, and he is inconsistent. Ayman Yahya? He is used only to what Pioli like to use and never about serving his tactics with Al-Nassr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi also does nothing with Al-Ittihad.
Our hope lies entirely now on Talal Haji. He is our golden boy, at the age of 17 he has shone a lot. He should be given first team call-up.

      @LukeKoop หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Lets start with the Center Backs. Tambakti is a great CB and isn’t used much for Al Hilal because Jorge Jesus is blinded by his love for Bulayhi. Now let’s talk about Bulayhi. Bulayhi is a decent CB, but he is 35 years old. He is past it(still gets a lot of play time for Al hilal due to being one of Jorge Jesus’s favorites. There is also this very good young CB from Al-Qadisyah, his name is Jehad Thakri. He is a beast and should get called up. Same for Nader Al-Sharari from Al-Shabab, not as good as Thakri, but still very good. Now on to full backs, Al-Shahrani is old and washed but Renard loves him too much. Al-Harbi should be the starter for the Left Back position. As for Right Back, we are stacked we have Saud and if not him you can use Al-Shanqeeti or Sultan in that RB position. Now onto Midfield, A huge mistake Renard made is that he played Faisal in the DM role which is not a good idea. Somebody who can play DM is Al-Khaibari. Musab and Kanno/Faisal should be the two central midfielders starting. Now for the attack, let’s start with the left wingers. You have Salem Al-Dawsari and then Ghareeb. Salem should still start imo he still creates alot of chances for the NT. On the right, theres only two options Al-Qahtani and Al-Hamdan. I would take Hamdan because, he has more experience. Now, for strikers it should be Al-Sahafi, but Renard still see’s him as a winger when he’s been playing in the Belgian League as A STRIKER, Not a winger. Al-Shehri and Al-Brikan are both pretty bad but, there is another good option, that being Abdulla Al Salem from Al-Khaleej who has been having a great season with 7 goals in the Saudi League.

It’s way too eary for Indonesia team to qualify if they are in 2026 world cup by luck , they will lose massively like 4-0 or maybe more have you seen what japan did while they were at 70% they will be 20 teams like them in the world cup.

It would be best for Australia & Saudi to miss the next World Cup. They are in the mud. It's either that or get grouped in a 48 team tournament. The other 3 (🇨🇳🇧🇭🇮🇩) could get away with being grouped due to their lack of WC experience. Not gonna lie, i can't wait for March and June. Group Cook.

Though I think Bahrain will be an outright embarrassment as well! They are no better than Qatar (arguably even worse), and we all know how well Qatar did in their HOME World Cup! 🤣🤣🤣

Jack you grilled the saudis bro so warranted too radif and kanno are frauds they play these qualifiers likes its scrimmage. the japan game wass the only intense performance from saudi and they had no choice they wouldve lost 4-0 if they didnt bring their a game.
and to answer your question Jack: yes, china is absolutely going round 4 and bahrain is absolutely finishing 6th unless saudi do it for them

I think if you say that Saudi Arabia in Round 3 is called a weak team in Group C, I think you are very wrong 😂😂😂
Please see FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFIER ROUND 2
They can score 12 goals and concede 3 goals, that's a beautiful thing, isn't it? 😮😮😮
This means that in Group C outside Japan, everyone is equally strong. ( 🇮🇩🇦🇺🇧🇭🇨🇳🇸🇦 )
What makes Round 3 different is just the carelessness of one of the teams which will benefit the opponent or the host team. 😂😂😂

Given we, Uzbeks, still remember how Bahrain and Saudi Arabia robbed our 2006 World Cup, to how Indonesians disrespected our U23 team when they lost to us, we would prefer China, Australia and Japan to qualify instead. But Group C is crazy, and I realise that.

Most of us Indonesian looking up to uzbekistan just like iraq (even on the technical side, u are better). We have a lot of people, so that we also we have a lot of stupid people too. But still most of us respect uzbekIstan, that were disrespect u just super small numbers.
If any that majority indonesian hate would be bahrain and qatar, and until recently but not anymore, vietnam.

Indonesia is a weird team. They are like Tottenham Hotspurs, always have potential only to collapse for seconds.

Hello, my friend. I have a suggestion: how about creating a feature on the history of Indonesian football development?
I’m not saying this just because I’m Indonesian, but because many people around the world are wondering how Indonesia’s football has developed so rapidly in recent years.
To address the curiosity and questions of a global audience, it would be great to explore how Indonesia managed to emerge as a growing football power. A detailed feature on this topic could provide valuable insights for your audience and help answer why Indonesian football has progressed so significantly on the global stage.🇮🇩👑

I like your opinion bro! Don't forget to say that to anticipate the incoming March window, we have been working to ask Romeny and some more to solidify the team. The incoming matchs will be very interisting. Watching from DR Congo, Africa.
