    Not many people can truly appreciate how much effort went into this. Finding the locations, getting to those locations, the position of the camera, the elevation, the lens types, the rehearsals for the timing of both the actors and camera, shooting permission, and all of the other unforeseen obstacles while shooting on location. This is one of the best recreations I have seen by far. This belongs in a museum.

    I was not expecting to see the exact interior AND exterior of the original Jones home in this remake, what impresses me is how much of it still looks exactly the same. The camera placement and blocking are ridiculously accurate too. It's a treat to watch this, hopefully someday you can make a full-scale remake of the scene using accurate props and wardrobe!

    • @rickleo123

    That was fantastic Ross. I was in the British Army in 1988 when they were filming The Last Crusade. I and about 800 other servicemen from British military units and US Airforce personnel were lucky enough to play German soldiers in the Berlin book burning scene, where Hitler signs the Grail Diary. It was filmed at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, England in July of 1988. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Your video put a much needed smile on my face. Well done mate.

    It's amazing to see how much soil and rock have eroded in just 35 years, while the rest of the land appears to be virtually untouched.

    • @OweEyeSea
      @OweEyeSea 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I believe some of the shots look that way because they were shot from a much lower angle - for example the shot around 1:33. I suspect that one was shot from a helicopter. Soil can erode considerably over 35 years, but rock in these arid locations will not weather considerably.

    Also, there's something about seeing the same stuff in the same place 35 year later that's really cool. Like in certain shots where you can see the exact same exact bush or tree except now it's grown up by 35 years. I don't know why that's neat to me but it is.

    Very impressed! The location scouting alone must've been insanely taxing.

    Remarkably enough: some of your tracking shots are surprisingly smoother and have better quality than the original. And especially at the beginning of the sequence, the timing is right down to the last millisecond. Some rocks have changed minimally over the years, but finding the perspective and making it look better than the original is absolutely brilliant! Thanks for sharing. Very good job!
