    Low Rider ST will be my next gift to myself. Going to wait a couple of years and avoid the markup and depreciation. I've owned twelve H-D and only one was new from dealer.

    Great video! Harley makes fitted pull out liner bags for these too. Makes getting gear in and out of the hotel more convienient.

      Pretty much a must buy.
      I'm not walking around with a side bag with a metal support hanging out with no inbuilt handle. I see why people were complaining about these bags now.

    Looking forward to more videos 👍🏼
    Maybe you could do an outside video around the bike without the bags.
    And like many others probably are curious about. How are the wind protection and is there any wind buffeting?
    And with that in mind, how tall are you ?

      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea! I'll do a walkaround without the bags soon. I can't comment on the wind protection as I haven't ridden it yet (the roads/weather still sucks here) but I should be able to get it out soon. I'm about 5'10 and the stock controls/bars fit me perfectly!

      ….I’m 6’2” with long legs….I’ve had the ST on the highway at 80mph in heavy (25+mph) winds….it was rock solid….zero wind buffeting for me….I wear a full face helmet, and the only air that was hitting it was smooth clean air….no bobbleheading whatsoever….bike felt extremely planted at speed….in crosswinds, I can feel the wind pushing on me, but it has little effect on the bike….sudden wind gusts from the side do grab the bike, but not enough to change your line….

    I just want to know why Harley didn't go with a 2 into 1 and make both bags the same size? Also, why not have the bags open at the top instead of like a briefcase? There's a few other ideas I've had for bag lids for long time, but those two are the top for this bike

    Very informative video. Thanks. I’m ordering mine tomorrow.
    Small question though. If I understood it correctly, In order to mount a sissy bar (harley original) you do need other docking hardware? You can’t use the ones fitted as standard?

    • @MikeBaker___
      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Congratulations! To explain the mounting situation better, let's pretend that you intend on using both a sissy bar and side bags. To do that, you'd need "double docking hardware". The sissy bar would mount to the first set of hardware (closest to the fender) and then the bags mount to the outer hardware. From the factory there are spacers in place of the "inner" hardware where the sissy bar would mount to. You need to replace those bushings with another set of docking hardware to run the sissy bar (or tour pack). There MAY be a factory bar that is much wider in order to mount onto the factory supplied "outer" hardware but I've never seen it.

    One thing to note - the FLSB (sport glide) saddlebags are different than the FXLRS saddlebags. The right hand side FXLRST saddlebag is shorter to clear the stock dual exhaust.

    Have been trying to find out if you need to replace the exhaust into a 2-1 just to put passenger pegs on? Haven’t seen anyone mention it but it seems like the place where’d they go is currently behind the exhaust

    • @MikeBaker___
      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the passenger pegs sit just above the top exhaust pipe. It looks like the same exhaust as some other softails which do come with passenger pegs from the factory.

    Have you had a bag with the leather pro bags? If so how they compare with loading up. I have the leather pro and they hold a lot, but they don't lock and not water proof. I don't use my bags much but when I do I load them.

    • @MikeBaker___
      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe I'll make a video to compare the two bags side by side. A friend of mine had the V2's and now has the V3's on his 2008 Low Rider. If I had to guess I would say that you might have more space with the LP's fully expanded but I may be wrong. The left side (larger) bag on the ST is actually surprisingly large in person though so I really need to see them next to each other.

    • @dgross2009
      @dgross2009 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I added simple combination locks to my Leather Pros. I like the fact that they pop right off but can be locked on, have a handle, and don't have that bar sticking out. I would bet that the leather pros hold a lot more than these when expanded.

    • @MikeBaker___
      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you could definitely swap the stock hardware with the LP hardware and mount the bags. Shouldn't be a problem at all. I'm chaging the pipes ASAP! I was surprised that my dealer told me I can change the pipes myself without voiding the warranty as long as I use the Screamin Eagle tuner.

    Looks good, I had one ordered it came and the motor had a buzzing noise and pinging. Also the bars were crooked to the right about a 1/4 inch. Not sure if risers or bars themselves. Can you check yours to see if perfectly straight?

    • @MikeBaker___
      @MikeBaker___  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, mine are not perfectly straight, it's one of the first things I noticed. There are rubber bushings in the risers that have some play to the and I just attributed it that. That's a SUPER big bummer about your motor though. I really hope mine remains solid. Are they going to replace the motor or the whole bike?

Not sure what part of NY you are from but most dealers here didn’t get one and I was ordered from the initial batch, I’m in NY as well. The Hudson valley. But the bars being crooked is kinda crazy. I can’t believe they sending out this way. I’m awaiting a answer from the dealer on the motor noise before I take it.

      Let me guess you prefer the chromed out look? I don't blame you since I tend to like that traditional look also although my Street Bob is just as blacked out as this one.
      I think the grey color looks better with this bike. It tends to match the seat better and has a bit of contrast from the all black look.
