The torque dip is NOT caused by the 475 cam and I have the dyno sheets to prove it. What causes it is reversion. Some may call it lack of back pressure. M8's and their 4 valve heads are serious free-flowing engines. Short free-flowing pipes such as the HPi, TBR, Bassani, Royal T Racing...etc cause the low end torque dip. When I dumped that short free-flowing pipe on my 114 and went with the S&S Super Street (non-epa compliant) pipe. The low end torque dip after being dyno'd disappeared. The neck snapping throttle response from idle to redline it has now is absolutely amazing. I recommend anyone with an M8 to stay away from those short pipes unless they have anti-reversion chambers built in them. Stick with S&S, D&D or better yet.....Thunderheader. Unfortunately, many will not heed my advice because they HAVE to have that stainless pipe on their bike because it looks cool. If downshifting and high rpm's is what you want just to pass an 18 wheeler at 55mph. Then buy the short pipe. But, why would you want to spend less on a performing pipe when you can spend more on something that looks cool!....ugh. So many M8 owners out there that are completely clueless due to lack of research. Have you noticed that HPi and other companies that sell the short stainless pipes NEVER post the actual dyno sheet showing the torque dip. They ONLY mention Horsepower and Torque numbers. Use your heads people....
I was going to go with the redshift 468, stock header with khrome werks slip ons and stock air filter. From what I have found the stock air filter can supply enough air for that type of setup but I’m still not really sure if that’s the best way to go.
@@Steve-qn8gn my builder always suggests the Arlen ness big sucker because it can handle a lot of power being thrown at it, I personally run the SE heavy breather but if I would do it again I’d go big sucker, he’s built a few bikes pushing 170hp and the breather was doing just fine. As far as your stock header I would try to get it de-catted as well.
@@stm250 I should have been clearer, my bike is the 21 rks with the ventilator air cleaner, the can move a lot of air. From what I understand I can replace the filter with a k&n replacement and move more. That would most likely be the step I take if I need to switch. I like the look of the stock air assembly. Maybe in the minority lol
So clean! Literally the exact setup I want with the pipe, air cleaner and cam! Sounds great too, and the numbers are impressive. I need to find a good moto garage near me!
The dip in low range is from exhaust due to short pipes on softail. Thrashin supply Has a full exhaust with champers in the front close to cylinders and it will get rid of majority of that dip in the low rpm trq curve
@Two Wheels i also have noticed that the torque they claim these AR pipes make down low is not to be seen on most dynos I've seen. They don't have much power off the hit in most configurations
If you really think you’re going to get any serious gains from exhaust; I have some great beachfront property to sell you in Nevada. Also have a big bridge in California I will sell you for scrap.
Shep absoulety Amazing brother. You and Cory are truly Class Acts. My bike came out absoulety Amazing. The power thru the Gear box is insane. Cannot wait till November to get my Full OHLINS Suspension and. Lyndall Brake rotors. Thanks again for all your hard Work Shep.
I actually love everything you have done with this bike... literally want to copy it on my new low rider st. Not gonna lie hopping you get one soon so I can watch to see what u do before I attempt it myself 😝
Nice work, very informative video! I am planning to mount Kraus 10" kickback and fly moto bar on my 2023 Low Rider S. Could you pls share the overall length for the upper clutch cable and the upper brake line you ended up using for this build? My guess would be 26" brake line and 38"" quick connect upper clutch cable. Did you also extend the gauge cable by 4 inches or the stock length is loose enought? Thanks and keep it up with the good content!
No need for cam chest if you only doing cam upgrade save that money for elsewhere mods. Also look at fueling reaper 472 cam it’s what I have in my 21 ultra 114” and put down 119hp and 129trq and it sounds great
Curious on how much airflow is actually gained from that intake over stock one. A lot of places i read the stock one flows as much air as most of the after market basic ones Was that one more for looks or a substantial gain?
I took my 2022 Lowrider S to the dealer to have the 475 cam installed. Manager called me next day and said they were ready to put the new cam in but when they opened it up my bike already has a factory torque cam in it. Also he couldn’t find the mapping to tune my bike according to the new cam. So they reassembled everything, didn’t charge me except for the adjustable pushrods. I don’t know anything about mechanical stuff so was the manager for real that my bike came with a torque cam ( bought it new ) or something fishy going on here ???? Please help.
Can i use the same bar on my stock 2022 low rider s just change risers? Or the bar comes complete together with its risers?. Just need a 6 inch lift not like yours.
Just bought a 24 lowrider st is there a way to disable the abs/traction control ? Planing on going with a rcs19 with the radial calipers but how will all that work with abs ? Just run steel braided lines from master to caliper
What gauge is that? All I can find is the MPH gauge with the RPM’s on the digital window. I’m looking for the RPM’s analog with the MPH in the digital window. Do you have the part number? Thank you in advance
I’m 5’9 and did 8” risers and it works for me , and yeah you’ll need to extend the cables, it’s a paint in the ass. Honestly though man, I kinda wish I had done 12” risers now lol oh well
I got 8" with a 2" pull back on mine with stock bars and site good for me I am 5'9" But really all depends on body style also If your all leg and little upper body you need different than someone short leg and long upper My wife is also 5'9" and they arent even close for her
So many people put those ugly ass chrome/raw two-into-one exhausts on their bikes and I can't understand why. Why wouldn't you go with a black exhaust?

Totally agree with you.
Well said, shorty pipes look good but sticking with my D&D billet cat and 475 with some other goodies my curve is beautiful on my 114”

How much does baffle size effect the power graph?
@@clubstyleridahd4695 that idk. But I do know that thrashin has a good exhaust for softails that has the chambers and keeps that dip from happening

Always be happy with you.👏👏
Love it.
BTW is manufacturer warranty canceled when you did this ?
Awesome video! Would love to know the total cost for all these upgrades.
Nice bike. Great content. I'd like to do bars and some motor work on my Fat Bob S this winter.

Just what I needed. I have the low rider st and a HPI pipe on order. Looking at cams and cam chest kit currently. Great video and insight! 💪🏻

so many better cam options than the old and outdated 475

I can’t find a single ape install video for the low rider st can I go off the low rider s videos
Very nice content. How much time did this take?
Thank you
Thunder header always!
What do you think about this setup whit 55 Manifold, 5.5 fuel injection and s&s 550 cam?

Had a 2017 screaming eagle 114 motor with just a redthunder exhaust no motor work. 119hp 131 tq...i think they went backwards on their motors lol.
awesome video . you could of done a walk around and get closer to that bike. lol
All the right stuff!!
Hey my brother. What kind of tuner do you use for your motorcycle
How comes there wasn't a cold fast idle?
Can you link the cam install video?
have you see a failed factory lifter cuff?
What was the clutch cable length?
I hane lucky Dave 13 bar how can I fit on my low rider s I have problem with spedo don’t know what to do any advice please

I’m thinking about buying this $30 k bike - what did this cost
So I have the 2022 HD Lowrider S without ABS. which brake and clutch cables would i need
Why when u speed sound not that great.. to me

How come none of these youtubers that do cam installs ever show how to actually time the cam?
I wonder how much was the “investment” ? 😂
Dig it
💯👍
I dont think that curve looks good at all, that dip isn’t because of the 475 it’s the exhaust. Bike looks great.
Well said! It’s the exhaust. You can do a thrashin supply exhaust with the champers and will fix that issue

that is the ugliest pipe and muffler i have ever seen. poor numbers. if that was my bike after spending all that extra cash, i would be in tears.
