I watched the whole video. Fantastic discussion. Can we please get some timestamps on various parts of the video? Like discussion on aero, suspension, etc.
Car looks great, love it when people that truly know their stuff, share what the 996 is all about... Being a GT3 does make that a bit easier and the headlights looking just a bit better!!! Thanks for sharing, the deep dives your doing are great...
Great video. These cars are just impossible to walk away from once you’ve experienced them at their best. Al are you running 295/35 on the rear or the factory 30 profile?
Ha! Met Al in 2019 at the Nürburgring, when I still had my E46 M3. I was already gathering info for the 996 GT3 I ended up buying shortly after. Great guy who gave me some really good hints on what to look out for. The GT3 I have now is basically a sister car, same colour, same spec. Looking forward to the ring trip this year, maybe I'll have a chance to meet him again!
Great cars. I had a 996.1 GT3 CS for many years with a fews mods including a Manthey K400 upgrade which meant power of around 400bhp. Got it set up for track by a Porsche specialist and had many fun track days. By far the best car I've owned and much missed. Agree about the bucket seats which are the best I've experienced in a road car.
Have the same in midnight blue. Fantastic car. Instead of the K&N the preowner of mine put a double sided airbox for better air flow in, which makes a good sound….
bro, what kind of video filter is this? It says 1080p but it's more like 360p, the quality is so low, it's like the video was shot 10 years ago. Also, the garage is full of Porsches, so you're not poor.
I have never seen that K&N intake before. What is the part number and where can you get one?? The one I see usually goes in the other direction and doesn’t have that full box.
I noticed that too. This looks like a K&N 57-7001 FIPK for a 997.1 GT3. Not sure if it would fit a 996 GT3 but it’s possible? 997 has a larger throttle body. Not sure if the K&N will adapt to smaller TB. He does mention he’s running original TB.
Last time I checked they weren't available anymore. Demonspeed and some design 911 have an alternative solution based on the cup one. But I never had them in my hands, so can't say anything about quality and fitment.
What are you on about? There is oodles of steering feel provided the car has the correct geometry. They are deliberately set up with default understeer from the factory. I challenge you to find another car on the planet with better power assisted steering feel than the 996.2 GT3. Overheating? No. They do have long gearing, as do all GT cars barring some RS variants.
Always love seeing 996 content
Having been in this car with Al round Spa I massively refute the 'im not that good a driver' the man can pedal!
I thought that might be the case after 10 years of trackday use and just his knowledge of the exact set up of the car.😁

Can't believe Iam only seen this now Al you are a legend 🤘🏻

Amazing car the last raw or should I say the only raw GT3

this car changed me from wanting a 996 turbo, to getting a narrow body 996. I saw it at C&M years ago
It looks like FVD has RSR uprights for the 996.
elephant racing do a 996 bump steer adjustable tie rod kit - could be a good option.

What a channel, it deserves more subsribers man. Love all the aircooled contents.
Arctic silver?
996 generation grey was “seal grey”, not “dolphin “ 😂
Another GREAT video Frank! Great car and engaging owner.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Somebody try to steal that wallet! Not happening with that security device. Grunge life bruv
Lovely car 💫 But £80 for a cup splitter?! is this true?!!

Don’t sit on the car man😮
Overpriced. They overheat. No steering feel above 160 kmh. Gears too long. Too many negatives that were not fixed even with the newer ones

What car are you talking about 😄 None of those resembles this car at all.
