Here's to hoping the card market continues to come down so we can buy some of these cards 😆

I don't understand it either. There are many theories. But I think that people have now understood that nothing is being printed from Sword and Shield anymore and that there are no more new cards coming. So everyone panicked and bought everything straight away. I'm sure some content creators are to blame for that. I think it's a shame because I only got into the hobby a year ago. I'm missing a lot of cards from Sword and Shield. But with the prices, collecting is no longer fun and I'm wondering whether I shouldn't look for other hobbies instead...

I get that sentiment l, I really do. I started back into the hobby last July after a significant family loss. Sword and Shield era has been great to open but at this time in my life, I’m priced out of certain chases. I will say, I am hopefully for the future of collecting and still enjoy it. Opening Japanese cards has been fun for me personally and cheaper all around.

It’s a pump. Go look at the PSA, SGC, CGC and BGS pop reports for the Moonbreon. That card is not rare. Is there a demand? Of course…but not for the prices we have been seeing. Straight pump and dump…

Its hard for me to emphatically say its a pump and dump considering its been one of the most desireable cards over the past couple years, on top of the fact nearly all SWSH era top hits and sealed product went up in value. If it was just Moonbreon that went up in isolation, I'd be more open to the pump and dump conclusion, but as we saw in the video, nearly the entire SWSH market went up in a similar fashion. I think its the FOMO honestly and the market is correcting due to most people being priced out.

There's no reason for swsh especially evolving skies, to drop too much. Demand on them is hella high and people love the artwork.

I agree they probably will come back up. But it has dropped 10-15% in the last three weeks or so. Always hard to speculate what the market is going to do for sure.

The SWSH cards dont deserve this much high price. kew. All I can say is they spending stupid money way too easily and having no patience.

I think one of the biggest issues is the FOMO and now SWSH isn’t in print, it’s just driving up the prices. But they are falling again so we’ll have to see.

yes, it's normal. please forget pop report. there are a lot more submissions and opens. A PoP Up of 500 from 2018 is the same compared to a PoP Up of 10,000 today in 2024. and specifically a card like Umbreon, the modern Charizard of old + is much harder to pull. Back then 2-5 boxes, today 40-50 boxes. It will definitely drop from time to time, but in 10 years this card will cost over $5,000 in raw pristine. The TCG is changing and in 10 years all of today's kids will be working and they will then get the cards for expensive money that you can't get today

These cards spiking 100% in value over six months, sometimes in less time, is not normal. I’ve looked at too many charts researching this video to know that isn’t true. I’m not arguing that the card will go up X amount of value in 10 years time, the focus was how the market is correcting itself at the moment and using these SWSH era cards as data points to bolster that argument.

Paldea Evolved is not the oldest set in the new era, SV Base is the oldest.

Whats crazy is the pop counts on these cards. The Moonbreon has 11,600 PSA 10s 😦

Evolving Skies is probably the most opened SWSH era set just for the chase cards. The value of these cards will most likely go right back up as the supply continues to dwindle. We'll just have to wait and see!

There are not 11,600 PSA 10s. That’s the total graded population. The pop for 10s is around 8,500. That’s still a lot, but it’s not over 10k
