- In this video on pokemon card investing, I go over 12 big pokemon investing fails. These are mostly vintage fails. Keep in mind vintage psa 10 cards don't come on the market anywhere near as often as modern.

I believe the rayquaza gold star was a CGC 10 not a PSA 10 as that just sold for 16k last month. Never seen a PSA 10 that low post pandemic
That Tyranitar holo from Aquapolis is a beauty, I’ve got the Japanese Wind from the Sea version in a PSA 10, not as expensive as the English one but still as beautiful 🤩

Mhm.. Not mentioning JP 151? Wouldn't it be fair - at least in this specific video - to take accountability for how much you pushed the idea of stocking up 151 when it was 200$ a box?
I didn't invest myself at that price point, so there's nothing personal here. I'm just genuinely wondering how you could leave that out as it has had a way larger price decrease percentage wise than a lot of the items you're mentioning. It would def suit the integrity of the channel and also just be better content imo if you would admit to having been wrong about something. Or at least don't just sweep it under the carpet as it feels a bit like in this video.
The whole video was mostly based around the market correction of vintage but I do agree with you re 151. However, on a positive spin, it's a great opportunity to dollar cost average. Happy to admit I don't get every call correct.

So basically the market has dipped roughly 50% across the world as people who invested in the cards during the 2020 2022 hype era are selling off and moving on to other things supply vs demand though I am surprised that sealed vintage Pokemon products have gone down as there would be less of it available as apposed to the singles market

Some of these last sold are way off. Don’t know where you find your numbers but no way a psa 10 gold star ray, unlimited base booster box, 1st Ed rocket booster box go that low. Check any eBay sale or PWCC heritage or goldin auction for the actual numbers.
They were straight off ebay mate, and using price charting to grab the prices, has links directly to the sales. I do agree with the Ray however, the sale from 8th of Jan seemed a bit fishy. Whether the transaction went ahead or not..
And the rocket box pricing was unlimited 👌
@@pokeoz91 I think you gotta use a different image for the rocket box since it’s a bit misleading. Also when I check eBay the lowest sale was 9.2k for the base set box and never seen a psa 10 gold star ray ever go that low since covid. They been consistently been > 40 and some have reached up to 50k this past year.

@@pokeoz91I have learned that price charting can be a bit of a hot mess when trying to figure out proper pricing. For example, the base set box you are referencing is actually an UNSEALED Italian box (with the box being in shambles).

No way base set booster box in English went for $8K. eBay prices are all still around $12K if not higher.

I don’t like seeing vintage dropping like this. I’m sure they will start rising after another pokemon anniversary.
Just a few market corrections, plenty of vintage holding strong and/or going up!

vintage base set will still be the GOAT in 5-10 year time. it will always be a good investment
There's so much WOTC unlimited around, but I agree that as the years go by, it'll get scarcer.

Those skyridge cards are horrific. The barcode draws your eyes away from the art. 😂
The art is phenomenon but I agree, the barcode was and still is taking away from the design.
Wizards of the coast cards are nowhere near as good looking as modern cards. That Espeon and Alakazam are TERRIBLE art works compared to modern. If you genuinely think more care and detail went into the old ones you are blinded by nostalgia they are SO BAD
It would be cool to have some remakes of vintage art into full alternate arts 👌

that alakazam i can agree with but why on espeon exactly? for its time and still to this day since i have one i wanna submit. it still looks great. they all have their perks with art.
USA entered last year into recession, and it looks like it would stay for at least 5 years. Also when bull market is over, all these stocks and cryptos go down, we will see much more cheaper cards.
That could well happen man! Hopefully not though.
ive scooped up a few good psa 9 cards like a jungle flareon for 60 bucks. usually double that. some people have been cashing in on the "need cash now issues"
