Is Martina Navratilova the greatest all-round player across singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles?
Yes.
Without a doubt the greatest in singles doubles and mixed doubles. Also she set the bar for physical fitness which breeds mental toughness in a champion like Martina.A classy woman.
Martina is the greatest doubles and mixed doubles player of all time, narrowly ahead of Margaret Court.
Steffi is the greatest singles player of all time, narrowly ahead of Margaret Court.
Yes, she's the greatest in singles and in doubles.
People say Martina was a sore loser, but she always gives a decent handshake, looks her opponent in the eye, and is often gracious in defeat too.
About time there are more videos celebrating her
Martina is the all time greatest. Her record speaks...
She wasnt even the greatest woman player
By far my favorite female player ever. I got to watch her practice in San Antonio after she retired from the tour. She was Majestic.
Martina is one of the most underappreciated master athletes ofnall sports. Tennis was blessed to have her. Her rivalry with the great Chris Evert has no equal.
underappreciated ??
@@cush6827 Still
The greatest all round player ever,.
Records that will never be broken. And I am so grateful and appreciative that we get to hear her on the call of many matches throughout the year. Her knowledge is obviously unrivaled 😊
Which records? 🤔
She is the GOAT, combine her doubles and mixed doubles victories, without a doubt. How long for? A long, long time!
Now that was something I was missing in my life what a champion and what a story ❤❤❤
For me, Martina is the greatest female tennis player I've ever seen👏
Or possible just the greatest among any tennis player
@@pohlpiano quite possibly , very hard to compare generations but was a pleasure to watch her, phenomenal skill and heart.
Agree totally
Why didn‘t you see the great Steffi?
@@carrerau7138 Graf would have never won as many slams as she did if Monica Seles was not stabbed.
Salute, respect! 🎉
She may have less slams than serena and Steffi but she's the GOAT in my eyes
In fact, she has nearly as many Slams as Serena and Steffi combined (59 vs 62)
And she has almost as many singles tour titles as Serena and Graf combined!
@@maksimkempe3425 How many mixed doubles slams equal one singles slam?
100?
1,000?
@@carrerau7138 Not a relevant question when the player in question has 60 more singles titles than her nearest GOAT competitor. A player who skipped numerous slams to help build up the nascent women’s tour. And who was playing against another top 5 all-time great throughout their primes, not just the B list of Mary-Joe or the statuesque Sabatini.
@@tobiasisback4605 When was Evert‘s prime in your opinion?
Her Royal Majesty left hand queen of tennis Martina Navratilova. Love you forever, hope we see another like or at least something close. Simply fire Martina 🔥🔥❤🔥
Thank you for making this valuable video into a video. Thank you for coming to Japan the other day. I hope the tennis world continues to grow. I hope everyone who loves tennis has a wonderful day.
That's a lot of hitherto unseen footage. Thanks US open! You should do more of this~
one of my first tennis-impressions: Martina vs Chris in Wimbledon
Fantastic documentary of a great tennis champ w 9 Wimbledon singles titles! Such a courageous pioneer, role model for women, LGBTQ, tennis, athletics, womens sports, those wishing to get out an oppressive situation, speaking up and standing on ur own, go by ur own beliefs. U have meant a lot to us tennis players from the 80s. Thank u.
Not for the T in LBGTQ apparently.
She is AGAINST men competing in women‘s sport!
@@carrerau7138 Yes, she finally spoke her mind, that’s what brave people do. After that BBC documentary from a few years back she was wavering…but the years since that documentary it’s become crystal clear that transwomen in female sports is denying biological females their hard won rights.
She’s had to put up with the likes of Megan Rapinoe calling her “transphobic” for supporting females in females sports! An utterly absurd defamation of someone who’s entire professional life has involved fighting for women’s and minority rights.
@@terrypussypower Rapinoe is a terrible human being. A narcissist and hypocrite of the worst kind.
@@carrerau7138she had no problem in years past with Renée Richards playing. In fact, she also made Renée her coach. She seems to have been hanging around with a lot of second wave feminists in recent years.
@@th8257 Richards herself is against biological man in women’s sport now.
She said that no woman player would have beaten her if she had transitioned earlier, at age 20 or 25.
The GOAT. Period.
Una leyenda viva Martina Navratilova! Ejemplo de perseverancia total!
84- 'Tears of Joy'- Martina has said she was really upset because of how the crowd was so against her- not joy.
I absolutely love Martina❤
Мартина Невероятнатилова
Respected 🙏🙏
When she is at her strongest, no one can touch her
Martina and Chrissie are the Greatest of All Time
sidebar....Martina Navratilova won 167 singles titles....she won over 80 titles at the same event , and in 1987 is the last player men or female to win tennis triple crown the 1987 USO ....in 1993 Helena Sukova finalist 1993 USO singles final, won the ladies doubles and Mixed doubles ....Barbora Krejcikova 2021 won Roland Garros ladies singles , ladies doubles and semi finals in Mixed doubles .....look how rare that feat is...
this is my GOAT
She knows how to hit from all court.
Bop spanish couple genuis "ok!" Jason
Love that woman. Legend.
All the fans and people who wants to know yo see more things abiut past greats... Helen Wills, Moody, margaret Court, Maria Bueno, Maureen Connolly, susanne lenghen, Chris evert, stefgi Graf, Monica Seles, arantha Sanchez
Arantxa don't belong with them
Молодец Мартина, классная спорцменка легенда тенниса
I have almost no doubt that Martina would have had a winning head to head against Serena. Serena's game was based on intimidation and martina did not get intimidated.
She's the greatest ever in everything ❤️ ♥️ 💕
Superbe ❤
Beautiful.
Interesting choice
My only sports crush!
真のテニスの女王👸✨✨😊 🎾😃☀️
sorry to tell you: US is not the center of the world, most of all if you are speaking about tennis and Navratilova.
Pam Shriver looks so pretty in Martina's HOF induction.
16:10 she whipping a early modern graphite. 16:39 chris is still with a wooden spatula.
It was ok but using Chris at the end seems a strange option. Why wouldn't you do a exit with Martina?
Maybe she wasn't interested but surely they could have done something better, even a snippet of her old hall of fame speech would have been better.
Its the backhanded( pun intended ) " normative " acceptance model used always. The games greatest winner deserves unqualified acclaim.
IS that Johnny Carson narrating the 1981 clip?
Great player. Only behind Margaret Court who holds all the records for slams won, singles slams won, winning %, even equal most slams after having kids in her absolute prime.
She was always so over emotional in the early days that it affected her play. She kind of went back to that towards the end of her career also.
89- up vs. Graf in singles final 63, 42, then Steffi caught fire and Martina choked, losing 75 61
Interesting in the 83 US open final, Chris was still using the wooden racket.
no comment
1983 final martina not playing with a wooden racket and evert is. what did evert expect ?!!!
Well, Evert won 3 slams in a row with a wooden racket (USO82, AO82, FO83) while others transitioned to graphite, so she probably fancied her chances!
My name is Martina Navratilova, and I’m here to give you a bow ner
Martina is no worse than the 3rd best singles player and far away the best doubles player of all time. The argument can be made this makes her #1
there was a reason she fell back in 82- she had Toxoplasmosis- confirmed by a doctor- Gary Wadler.
She always played better a blonde.
Mostly stale clips weve seen forever. I refuse to believe there arent better examples available. My tape and dvd collection yields better. Deeply admire Evert but using her impressions as a framing device is annoying. Again...choices.
18:08 and 18:38 “Martina Nir-vat-il-ov-ah”…LOL!
Unrivalled for her transphobia.
The lgbt community should learn from her. She loves and respects everyone and lives her life in private just like everyone should
errrm, she's vocally against trans people.
Marion Bartoli is a better Tennis player than Martina Navratilova. Marion Bartoli won Wimbledon grass court grand slam in 2013. Martina never won.
What?
she won Wimbledon nine times
I’m glad Martina had finally wised up to the dangers of trans women in female sports, despite the likes of Megan Rapinoe calling her “transphobic” (just ridiculous) for supporting female sports!
Is that Donald Trump bigging up Martina at the beginning?
It's a shame what Alzheimer's has done to her.
Poor confused boy. Nurse is coming to collect you, don’t worry.
