      I don't, I live in a small town in Washington and I ride an Indian Persuit so probably not well suited to the task

      I live in the Scottish highlands so not really required to lane splitting as the chance of a busy road is just less than zero ! having said that when in Edinburgh I lane split all the time as do virtually every biker in the UK as its common practice to do that everywhere in the UK. People are generally accommodating and move to the side a little if they see you.

      NYC here. Lane split every day. I can't imagine not going crazy driving a car around the NYC area, especially in eastern Queens where more people own cars close in proximity to Long Island.
      Lane splitting varies in difficulty depending on which highway or street you are on. Some roads have better spacing between lanes and others are very tight. Cool to see a 1200 Explorer splitting curious how well I could split / filter with on around NYC, absolutely love the 1200 Rally range.

    Working from home now, so no lane splitting; however, when I was in the office (Sacramento) I shared lane splitting duties between a Tiger 800 and a Honda CTX1300. The Tiger was easier to lane split because it was lighter, thinner, and more nimble, but the Honda was still very doable despite the extra width and weight. I gave a thankful wave to every vehicle that moved over for me. The amount of waving seemed to grow over time.

      Awesome Mark! 👍🏼 Thanks for commenting and sharing your experience. Nice that you can work from home now and don't have to deal with that traffic.

    i would say the amount of space given to you is still quite generous but i wouldn't say it's easy at all with hard panniers. takes absolute balls to do it. it's not a fair comparison but in malaysia (klang valley) it's not always possible to split like this. but i watched this video because im thinking of upgrading to the tiger from a t120. so thanks for this!
    im just not sure if a 5"10 guy like me has the height for it. it's an absolute monster seeing the bike in person.

      Matthew I appreciate you watching and commenting and sharing. I absolutely love my Tiger but you are right it’s massive lol. I wish I was able to flat foot this bike but I can’t unfortunately and it’s a big deal when off road.

    I'm pretty sure it developed out of necessity. People were doing it and the cops couldn't do much about it with how heavy congestion was. When they starting looking at fatalities not caused by the rider rear end collision ranks pretty high. I know when they legalized it in California they had to spend a lot of resources educating the public that it helps everyone by reducing congestion, especially at rush hour and it's much safer for the rider.

    Lane splitting is definitely dangerous. Didn't know it is legal in California. 🚲

      Only state that it’s legal in 😬 but it’s nice not to have to sit in traffic. Very dangerous I agree. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼

    I travel on my Bike all over the country so California it’s just expected and people get out of your way but Montana,Utah and Arizona you can.

    People shouldn't have to move out of your way. I ride everyday rain or shine. If you can't make it through the cars then you should stay behind them.

    • @jesseonamotorcycle
      @jesseonamotorcycle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea true but I feel safer in between cars instead of behind them or in front off them. You never know.
